I arranged and created the orchestral backtrack for this song. I was able to get in touch with the composer, Austin Wintory, and he was kind enough to share some scores with me to help with my arrangement and I'm very grateful for his help! This was definitely my most ambitious video yet and a lot of people helped make this possible and I'm very thankful for their efforts :) This was my first time doing a true cosplay video so you'll have to let me know what you think ;)

As a former violinist, I can only imagine how hard this was to learn, much less playing with FREAKING GLOVES ON, and still managing to give me and I'm sure everyone more chills than listening to the original.

Journey is, by far, one of the most brilliant games I have ever played. It might not be for everyone, and I understand that, but that will not stop me from showering this game with as much praise as I can muster. It's a visual feast, and revels in its simplicity. The gameplay doesn't need a combat system, it just needs to craft a simplistic, if absolutely beautiful experience. Its multiplayer is one I adore. Having a stranger wander into your game is exciting, because the prior isolation makes you crave seeing another traveler. Its quick moments of tension and excitement are never bombastic enough to detract from the relaxing nature of this game, and need I friggin' mention that gorgeous soundtrack? The heart yankingly amazing score that is the reason we are watching this video (great job, by the way). It's an example of an 'art game' that isn't pretentious in its execution. It doesn't throw a weak game at you and demand that you make it important, it just is. If Sony REALLY wanted to make people buy their console, they would have had Thatgamecompany make another visual feast like this. If people are willing to defend The Order because of its graphics, why not have an ACTUALLY beautiful game get that level of visual love. I'm serious. If Thatgamecompany had made something like this for the PS4, it would have been an instant buy for me, potentially even more so than The Last Guardian (which is never going to happen to my dismay). Journey and its sister game, Flower, stand proudly among my favorite video games of all time. Right along with Devil May Cry 3, the Mario Galaxy games, Halo: Reach, Bioshock, Shadow of the Colossus, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and I'm glad it exists every time it's brought up.
Oh, and those vinyls will be mine.

Have you tried Ori and the Blind Forest and the sequel Ori and the Will of the Wisps?
Much, much more difficult, but the heart and soul that went into those games is astounding.
7 years after this video was posted, and it is still cool as hell. Love the attention to detail even down to the scarves and the glyphs all the way down
I never played the game, but I watched the walkthrough and I cried so hard at the end that I had to stop the video twice, something that no video game has ever made me do.

At the end, I always draw a heart in the snow over and over and if the other player understands and draws one too, it's the most amazing experience.
Hey I probably played with you once! I remember playing with someone that drew are heart in the end and we stayed drawing stuff for like an hour before leaving the game!

The compelling nature of the circle of life and the road to death was so profound in that game. I did not expect it to be anything on the level it was. Wonderful cover.

The most beautiful game i ve ever played with the most beautiful soundtrack. Had tears in my eyes when a player i played the whole game with drew a heart in the snow at the end and knew that we had to go through the narrow.
I always draw a heart at the end. It’s a bittersweet moment. One companion took a screenshot when I did the heart and sent it to me in a message after we finished the game. They loved it 🥰

I have come back to this so many times; everything about this is gorgeous. The videography, your expression as you play, and the arrangement itself are all flawless! 2:50-2:55 has to be my favorite part, musically. This really captures the essence of Journey, which not many TH-cam covers of game songs/scores do, thank you so much for sharing this.

Amazes me that you are playing with gloves on! No cut out fingers. Very nice. And for the comparisons to other violinists; Enjoying fine playing should not be "who is better, etc". Just listen. I am a violinist, who plays professionally, also. However, there are many who play better than me! I still love to hear others such as Ms. Davis. Listening to good music should not be predicated on who trumps the other. Instead, imagine how well they could probably play together! And calling her ugly is so moronic. Even if she were, which she is not, would make her beautiful by her virtual ability. Didn't your mother tell you, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"?
Still one of the best games EVER. From the visuals, to the way multiplayer works, to the MUSIC. Journey is an experience and one that has yet to be topped or even come close to. It is without a doubt a beautiful experience.
You know, I love the fact that there are two people playing this song at first. It makes me feel like it is actually part of the game. Mainly because you play your chime and together you can simply talk together through these small noises, but what if they hear this sort of music when they're together? This game it just- though it was depressing at points, at the end, walking with your partner, I just felt like the happiest person out there. This game truly was beautiful in every way and I would change absolutely nothing about it. Kudos to you for making such a beautiful song :D

I love the Violin so much. The amount of emotion that you can pour into a single Violin is endless. With this arrangement so much power and emotion was struck in every note. The Ost was fantastic, but this arrangement is amazing i have watched over and over again and every time i get chills. Taylor Your are wonderful woman and an amazing violinist, Please do not stop!! Note: Halo soundtracks sold better than music by many big name artists at the same time of release, as well as being one of the few games to affect pop culture, and was compared to Star Wars, in terms of effects.
Playstation and XBox both have a huge success story on their hands. I'm not defending either of them, just pointing out XBox has similar accolades as well.
Journey is a game I still want to play, but refuse to drop money and purchase a PS3 for a single game.
redtail I do believe that XBOX is amazing in its own ways, but just because something sold many items, doesn't mean that it was particularly as good as this, as this was pretty close to getting a Grammy. Though Halo's soundtracks are pretty amazing, I will say that. Both PS3 and XBOX have their advantages and disadvantages, I believe the PS3 to be better, but that's probably because I just happen to be a PS3 fan.

I've played this game many times before, and it's definitely one of my favorites! The music makes me sad but still happy. But how this whole thing is filmed and played made me feel like I was playing the game again, and it was fantastic. Made me cry because of the beautiful way you played it.
