    I took my daughter and a friend to those caves when she was in junior high. My great grand mother lived close to them. When she was a young girl.

    I checked these out yesterday. Very cool! There used to be an old house right down the way from these that was wallpapered with old newspaper pages. My mom used to take me there when I was a kid. It's long since collapsed now but I so wish I had some pictures of it!

    Valley town is Andrews , Topton area, there are more caves but I know 2 were blocked by forest service bc a guy got stuck and died in the early 90's. My grandmother took us to this one many times, this is the easiest one to get to. But beware of snakes they can be bad there in the summer.

    I used to go exporing above the SC Rocky Bottom Camp for the Blind in Sunset, SC. It you go about half a mile on up the mountain and take the left-hand trail of the Appalachian trail there are caves all along there. My fiancee and I used to go there a lot and explore. It's very close to the NC line. LOVED this video. Hope you'll do more like this one!

    • @HistoryHoundDetecting
      @HistoryHoundDetecting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I definitely wouldn’t bring that along…or any other digging tools. It’s National Forest and a known site. You’d get in some serious trouble I’m afraid.

    • @timbumgarner1207
      @timbumgarner1207 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes..I wouldn't either but would like too. I've read the regulations on metal detecting on Forest Service / BLM lands. Allowed but with restrictions. National Park is by invitation only.

    Thank you so much for sharing this place! We stopped at the NOC on a ride on the Smoky Mountain Railroad but had no idea this was there. Is there parking near the swinging bridge, or where would you park? Thank you so much!

    • @HistoryHoundDetecting
      @HistoryHoundDetecting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is room for two vehicles right at the bridge…but if it’s full there are a couple pull offs a hundred yards down river.

    Have you been to Judacula Rock?

    • @HistoryHoundDetecting
      @HistoryHoundDetecting  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have. There is an ancient trail that is attributed to Judaculla himself. It’s called the Choestoe. It leads from Devils Courthouse in NC to Brasstown Bald in N. Ga. Along that trail are most of the largest carved stones including Judaculla rock and Track Rock.
