  • E252: Have you ever wished that you could just use a pc floppy drive to read your amiga disks on your Windows pc? well wish no more! introducing "THE DRAWBRIDGE" a creation by Rob Smith!. it uses a small Arduino board to intercept those pesky PC floppy signals and transform them into Amiga goodness. (theres more to it than that) but in a nutshell thats it! Watch this video and use the links below to get yours !!
    The Drawbridge:

Its perfect for those that buy an 500, and have no software for it. I remember splitting adf files on pc, mounting pc disk in Amiga, copy to ram-disk, reassemble file, write using adf2disk. That took a loooong time, getting 50 games written on 880k disks.

Hi there. I did this trick years ago with a Arduino UNO, FTDI USB to TTL Breakout Board -(5v), standard PC floppy drive (internal) a breadboard,
some jumper wire and a 1k resistor. You wont to use jumper wire not the floppy IDE cable that has a twist (trust me on that). Than you need the
Rob Smith software and wiring diagram. This is how i got my AMIGA stuff onto the PC. It was awesome and easy compared to the alternative with
a null modem cable a PC, AMIGA and proprietary software... Just won't to let you know if you can't buy the wire with Rob's Smith PCB attached for
some reason. Yes it is a fiddly process, buying the ready to go solution is more comfortable :). Cheers!

Cool way to make ADF`s. I think I converted all my Disks to ADF`s and copied them to CD many years ago.

Something wrong there and no it isn't the USPS. Thankfully I have a KryoFlux which will do basically the same thing only more and at a higher level.
