Hi this video was very helpful, recently I found a papasan chair free wanted to buy cushion but they are very expensive…wanted to make one myself so thought of looking up for a video and this was the first which popped, can you please tell me the total you spend on it.
Of course, I apologize, since the stores shut down this last couple months my supplies are a little slow coming in. I will comment the link in the next few days!
Hi! How did you measure how much fabric you'd need? I have a hanging macrame chair that I'd love to do a big round cushion for but it dips further back in the seat part than the papasan chairs. It is 32 inch's across though from side to side.
Hello! It sounds like you might already have the right idea. If your chair diameter is 32”, you will want to make your cushion a little longer because some of that length will go to the height when you fill the cushion. Plus, you will need to account for seam allowance. I also wanted my cushion to be on the side of larger compared to my chair than smaller. For yours, I would personally start looking for a fabric that I could get a 38”-40” square. Let me know if this helps!😊
Hello, I used a 10lb box of Poly-Fil from Joann’s. I didn’t use all of the stuffing, you could try starting with the 5lb box if you prefer. When the cushion starts to get flat and you can feel the papasan underneath, you can easily fluff the filling back up and add in more filling to give your cushion new life!
The fabric depends most on the size of the cushion you need. Also, it depends how wide the fabric is. I was making my circle as close to 60” in diameter as I could get. The gray fabric was 62” wide. So I was able to just order 60” (or 1 2/3 yds) Since the black fabric wasn’t wide enough, I had to make two halves of the circle. So I doubled the amount of fabric-giving me 3 1/3yds
I've been sewing for a few years and I though it would be trickier but you made it look so simple! Thank you for showing us this method!!

Great video!! What size zipper did you use?
Thank you for watching! I used a black all-purpose 6 inch zipper.
what was the diameter of your chair?
The bowl is 44” in diameter just straight across.
Where did you get the stuffing from?

The Phoenix Finish thanks you’re amazing
I'm confused on the amount of fabric you used. How many yards did you get off each fabric?
The fabric depends most on the size of the cushion you need. Also, it depends how wide the fabric is.
