Its a gorgeous piece, definitely some sort of off center wobble going on in the whole thing at high speeds, you can see it in the video. A CA or shellac based finish would fill in some of that carbide tool tearout nicely, or using traditional gouges and riding the bevel. Carbide tools are great for fast working but not great for tear-out when dealing with coarse grain or side grained exotic woods. It is pretty

Neither, camphor wood belongs to the hardwood group and does not have wood fibers, and tends to be plain, has a dark color
