Matthew's Parsad (Mohanbhog) Recipe: • Guyanese Parsad || Moh...
You will notice that I don't use raisins in Parsad 🤣 It's in the genes- my entire family has a love-hate relationship with dried grapes (my parents used to like it until they had us 😂)
Mom's Recipe for Puja (Prayers) Parsad:
    Serves 20+ people.
    -2 lbs Cow Brand Ghee
    -5 lbs All Purpose Flour
    -2 1/2 lbs Brown Sugar
    -4 12oz cans Evaporated Milk
4 cups of Water + Cinnamon Sticks + Ginger + Cardamom (Elaichi) add as much as you'd like.
    -2 tablespoons ground Cardamom (Elaichi)
    -2 cup of Raisins (optional).
    Smaller Recipe:
    - 3 cups of All Purpose Flour
    - 1/2 lb Ghee (approx. 1 cup)
    - 1 12 oz can Evaporated Milk + 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
-1/2 cup Sugar (you can add more)
2 cups of Water + Ginger + Cardamom (Elaichi) + Cinnamon Sticks you don't have to use all.
    -1 teaspoon ground Cardamom (Elaichi)
    .......................................................................
Tips: You can use Cream of Wheat (Semolina/Sooji), Almond Flour or Coconut Flour instead of All Purpose Flour OR mix it up!
You can also use Coconut Sugar, Honey, Agave, Artificial Sweeteners etc instead of Brown Sugar.

    Hey Taste of Trini family!
Divali is quickly approaching and Matthew and I decided to share our versions of Parsad.
Parsad is synonymous with Divali. It is used as an offering in Hindu pujas or prayers or it can be eaten as a snack. I hope this video was informative and educational!
I'll have you all in my thoughts and prayers. Just like light triumphs over darkness, I know my fellow Trinbagonians will rise above this with resilience and strength 🙏🏽

If you eat DAIRY products, like paneer, whey, milk you PAY to KILL COWS --> watch DAIRY is SCARY on TH-cam. Don't think that VEGETARIAN life style doesn't include RAPE and KILLING of COWS and CALVES....
KNOWLEDGE is POWER, don't be IGNORANT. a real/true HINDU is VEGAN

Looks great! Def will try. The humanitarian effort being displayed by trinis is so commendable. It's really heartwarming to see all of us come together to assist. Not only home here but all over the US and Canada. I think it's safe to say trinbagonians do care and we love our twin island republic.

It's great to see the contrast between small scale and large scale parsad production. It's also fun in comparison with Matthew's version. My thoughts are with the beleaguered people of Trinidad at this difficult time. Big love!

Lovely video. I never knew how to make parasad. It's not as difficult as I thought. Will be trying this for sure.
As for the situation in our lovely Trinidad right now, as bad as it is, It's heartwarming to see people put aside differences and help each other.

Thanks for your knowledge at the beginning and thoughts for our sweet 🇹🇹. Parasad looks delish. Question though - the parasad that is made for offering do you add fruits and nuts to it or is it just plain?

    • @TasteofTrini
      @TasteofTrini  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hey, sorry about the late response. You can make it plain or with nuts or raisins. I know each puja requires different offerings, so it depends on what you need for the specific prayers 🙂
