Snow is so easy to drive in When it’s cold out and it’s not wet and heavy. When it’s like that you need steel tire chains or studded winter tires or drive very carefully and never let it spin. Looks like you had fun. I drive on snow from the the end of October to the end of March you get used to driving in it.
This is so funny, I have lived in northern Michigan my hole life and this brings back my child hood, trying to get around with the old crappy cars in the winter. Love it..
Mcauley man8 no shit, I don’t understand the mud terrain thing. The snow freezes in the tread and makes a race slick. But I guess it’s the cool look. Function over form
John Consentino yup, all for the looks. We live in 300+ days of perfect weather a year. I would never live in a place where I had to deal with shitty winter conditions. I’m also not going to put snow tires on my truck to go play in the snow for 2 hours a year. I didn’t get stuck, I’m happy.
I was looking at the jeep the whole time like .. Come out an plaaaaayyyy .. It was a tease ... Im sure my durango .. Would of kilt it too . but its nice to see these city slickers .. Out there getting stuck
And tip for anyone out there. NEVER... ever stand pushing on someone's window/door backwards while they are reversing with the wheels cranked. If you slip and fall your getting sucked under the tires. 8:20 lol..
All things considered it looked like all the trucks did well enough in those conditions. Now I have to go back through hours of videos to recall what tires everyone is running 😂
Helpful tip by a man from Alaska: pull it out in reverse and make sure the truck stuck turns the wheels towards the ditch and obviously in reverse. The front wheels will pull its self out and back onto the road. :) works every time
I loved and hated seeing this ..i mean it looks freaking amazing seeing show trucks in the snow but my heart was beating so fast worried that something was going to get scratched or bent or crashed!!! Yall did awesome
Let's talk about that balljoint, tie rod and every other linkage play in the front end of that Cherokee lol that front end slap in the snow spinning out.
Man that’s all lil stuff I absolutely love living where it snows 5 months out of the year! I get to wheel my truck in the snow whenever I want, tons of snowmobile trails in my area, and I’m 20 minutes from the 15th largest ski resort in the USA. All that makes dealing with the lil crap like shit freezing, out of staters sliding into my truck, etc. etc. totally worth it! And I mean there’s ways around a lot of it that you learn after dealing with it a few times
Love the wheel and tire compo on the Black Dahlia, more side wall for activistes. Snow tip, next time run a chain through your wheels around your tires on ice. 😜😂😂😂 won't get stuck then. 😂 😂 😂
Nice trucks man. Just some words of advise, coming from north Idaho where the snow really comes down. Tighten the tow line 1st before u floor it or u will rip someone's hooks or bumper off. I put it in 4 low, chains or cables help for snow wheeling. But tighten the line than give it a little glass in 1st gear 4 low. If that dosent work add 6 inches of play to the line each time u try to tug them so it's gradual, until there unstuck. Bumping sometimes is nesaasrry but in increments. I give it a little glass, not floor it and let the viehicals wieght bump it out. Best with truck is to pull them out with ur front bumberbin reverse, low gearing and all the the weight of ur engine is best for grip. I know it dosnet snow were ur from, but seen to many accidents where the strap sling shots thru ur back window, it truck and leaves a dent or scratch, or Rip's off the person's number or hurts someone. Love the channel ur a smart guy and have good things going for ya. In sure it wasn't intentional and maybe u know how just throwing it out there.
All of you guys have really nice trucks thats literally built to plow or tow easily. its no way these should be getting stuck this much. I have a escalade that run through 3 feet and hardly ever slide
Remenber wide are no good in snow.some mud tires suck in snow too. alcohol will defreeze the lock.only pull back or forward and make sure the stuck truck also push the gas lol come up north and it ll be alot more snow
As someone who lives in a snowy place, I offer the following. I drive a Jeep XJ locked on both ends in Canada. We air down to about 15 lbs. and almost double the tire contact area.
Also, the 2 sandbags in my box while they help a bit for weight mostly works best for opening up and springing down on ice if someone's stuck. That, my strap and shovel stay in there all winter
Love the vids, Ryan. This one is a commercial for not putting huge wide tires on a truck and expecting it to get decent traction in the snow or ice. Tall and skinny wins in snow. Still fun to watch.
This is awesome. Me being from Wisconsin love seeing lifted trucks in the snow. And it was 100 times better than bugs truck in the snow video. Oh btw wes your truck sounds freakin badass!!
Love all these trucks but by far the black duramax is set up the best for this. Some nice meaty tires and big tires with small wheels. And wes's truck sounds so good with the supercharger
Since most of you guys have compressors for your air horns, if you could have a quick connect setup off of one of the compressors and had a hose and chuck setup you could air down to like 16 or so and you wouldn’t have an issue in the snow... ice still sucks but you’d be better off overall. Then just air back up before you hit the highway. Makes a world of difference.
They’re sitting there pushing that van and talking about digging it out when there’s a dozen jacked up diesels right there that says it all about theese guys 😂
Similar situation happened to me and my buddy. Out in the trails with my truck, and i rolled up on someone that was stuck and i tried to pull him out and i ended up getting myself stuck. I was stuck for 7 hours in almost below zero temperatures.
