As stated by writer and director Bob Clark in the Porky's DVD commentary, this scene was done in 1 take, that's it, these pro's nailed this shot and it took 1 time!!!
Makes me think these actors contained their emotions long enough to do the shot in one take and the one playing the woman in this scene must have burst into fits of laughter after the scene filming had finished
You can see at 2:23 that Nancy Parsons' mouth twitched into a smile for just a moment holding in her laughter, same at 3:05 at the sketch artist line. Amazing how she was able to make this entire speech in a serious tone without completely busting up, while having to hear Eric Christmas say "tallywhacker" at the same time! That's primo acting talent right there!
This has to be ONE OF THE FUNNIEST COMEDIC SCENES in the history of cinema 🎥 🤣!! I've seen it dozens of times and laugh till I can't breathe. How "BALLBRICKER" kept a straight face is beyond my comprehension!!
Yeah, and kudos to the actress who was able to stay on point with all the antics off to the side (they had the easy part!) on top of that crazy dialogue!
These were all amazing actors and actress. I don't know how the actress who plays Beulah balbreaker did not bust out laughing during this segment. This segment is classic gold!!!
I remember this movie in the theater. This scene had people rolling on the floor laughing, two guys fell out cause they couldn't breath. To this day, it's just as funny.
Nancy Parson is the greatest actress of her era... to hold a straight face with that monologue while everyone else in the scene is giggling should have gotten her an Oscar.
I love that one coach turning beet red. The guy who plays the principal must be one hell of an actor to make it all the way up to his cue before laughing,
Can we recognize the brilliance of Boyd Gaines in this scene? The way he does the slow slide to the floor, starting at 2:54, as he is putting out the APB on the pr*ck is priceless and gets me every time!
Me and my friends saw Porkys when it came out. The whole theater was laughing so hard during this scene we couldn't hear the dialect! 1982 was a great time to be 18 years old! Mitch Banner Linville NC.
@@Norse-Gael Dialogue, my mistake. Porkys Revenge I saw on HBO. The original Porkys we saw at the Appalachian Twin theater in Boone, NC. Mitch Banner Linville NC.
That she is reasonable asking for something unreasonable. That she delivered her lines with all seriousness. It just increased the hilarity of the scene.
Yeah, opening night. Never experienced anything like in since. Hundreds of people in that theater.... people literally DOUBLING OVER with laughter, holding their stomachs , almost falling out their seats!
Yeah there's nothing even close. Nothing that can be compared. I've seen it countless times over the years and this scene still makes my gut hurt from laughing too hard 🤣
Agreed. It helps if you see the shower scene before it, but you can still laugh your butt off watching the scene by itself. I don’t see how anyone can’t laugh at the coaches. 😂
I was with my buddies we went to see this movie and this scene was so funny that the whole theatre was in stitches. Years later It came back out to a theatre that showed old movies. My father-in- law wanted to see it, so him and myself went to see the movie. I thought dad was going to piss himself laughing. We had a great time. Dad went and bought the dvd and when he needed a good laugh he'd throw Porky's on. It was his favourite comedy of all time.
I first watched this with my dad and we laughed so hard i nearly pissed myself trying to help my dad up from the ground while he was in hysterics, my mum was there too and she was laughing at us both and the film, even the dog seemed to join in. I still laugh everytime and it brings back great memories.
The word tallywhacker has stuck with me ever since I first saw Porky's in the theater and yes the laughter from the crowded theater was incredible, even tho critics blasted this movie, the audiences loved it.
What always got me was how Calm and straight face She was during this whole scene , when Mr Carter rolled his eyes when she was talking about putting hoods over their heads....I lost it......This and the Turkey Drop scene from WKRP are two of the funniest ever put on film.
Was a teen and saw this when it came out. Talk about side splitting humor. People in the theater were literally rolling in the aisles. There were other great scenes in the movie but this was definently one of the most memorable and a classic.
One of the funniest things to ever make it onto film! I’ve been laughing at this thing for as long as I can remember what a great movie! As a matter of fact, it’s where I got my name
Nancy Parsons made this scene as Balbricker. The way she was able to stay so serious...true professional! I about pissed myself watching this in the theater, especially watching Coach Warren and Goodenough in the background trying to maintain. So much fun.
Might be the funniest 1 shot scene that long.. in cinema history. Anywhere you put your attention on this is funny. She's hysterical, The principal is incredible, and that trio in the background. Absolutely brilliant. There is genuine laughter here. Hat's off to her.. being able to pull that off without cracking up. Genius scene
I don’t know how she kept her composure. The head coach is the one that makes me laugh the hardest. He is trying to be professional, but he struggles more and more as the scene progresses. Funniest scene ever!
I agree. I have long said this is possibly the funniest movie scene ever made. I would love to know the filming behind it and how much of that laughter was truly authentic.
If, as many have said, this was done in one take, then the actress playing Miss Ballbreaker (or whatever) deserves a comedic Oscar for straight facedness. A magnificent performance in spite of the laughter (real) of her fellow actors. Brilliant. Also at 3:20 when senior coach has to put his hand in his mouth to stop himself from laughing out loud.
No matter how many times I watch this, whether as a 13 or 50 year old, I still piss my self laughing everytime while headbutting the living room walls.
the laughter is contagious, I have watched this scene many times and it always makes me laugh so hard I hurt, the script is hillarious and the actors play it to perfection, absolute genius!
I'm sure it took multiple takes lol you can clearly see where she's trying so hard not to bust out laughing. And the way she stood up and rushed out of the room, you KNOW once she was out of camera range she absolutely HOWLED 😂😂😂😂😂
Effing legend of a scene. I have to believe it was totally unscripted except for the first part of it with Ms. Ballbricker and the principal. And when the head coach started laughing, it was over 🤣
They both very nearly cracked a couple times, but somehow they super humanly held it together for 4 minutes without laughing. I could never have made it through that scene without laughing, I would have been like those coaches on the background
"Okay! Angel Beach, strong and hardy! Win the game have a party! We decided you were right! Put it in the basket! Fight, fight fight! Roman women give in, in, in. use your balls and win, win, win!"

The fact that Nancy Parsons kept a totally straight face throughout this whole exchange shows her strength as an actress.
The fact that the actor playing Mr. Carter managed to keep a straight face for so long is a testament to his acting ability and self control.
