- How to change the oil on a Honda Civic. Honda Civic Oil Change (1996-2000). In this video I show how to change the engine oil on a Honda Civic. Changing the oil on a Civic is a good Honda DIY project. The vehicle in this oil change video is a 2000 Honda Civic LX Sedan. 1996-2000 Honda Civic oil changes should be similar but the oil capacity will be slightly different due to the engine size.
