Hi joe , this was my brothers car his name was Mitch Harris he leased it from new from jaguar Northampton and he died suddenly in 2015 that car was amazing and i have so many memories in that car , so nice to see it i wish i had the money i would come and get it . U do a great job on ur channel, keep it up .

Own a 2004 XKR here in Dubai.
Regularly see people posing with it and also get challenged by other super cars on the Sheik Zayed Road.
I'd buy that one in a heartbeat.

My wife has the 300hp version which we are driving from Wales to Vienna next week. It is the convertible model, but there is plenty of room for six cabin bags and a medium suitcase. Its been with us six years and still gets the thumbs up from us, and passers-by. Light upholstery is essential for every convertible, whatever make, but especially a Jaguar, so you can revel in the superb leather craftsmanship. A grand tourer with style, don't hesitate.
Just sold my 4.2 XJ these cars if you can get the right one are a joy to own a real head turner and forever getting compliments from my neighbours! Hold on why did I sell it 🤦♂️🤣

Worked for Jaguar years ago and the XKR superchaged was my go to in the pool cars, great video and enjoying seeing some older higher end cars on BM.

Always wanted one of these but embarrisngly it is my ability to get in and out regularly that makes it impractical. Getting old sucks! 😂
On the rare occasion I had to leave a proxy bid at BCA I miraculously always won the car at the exact amount of my bid. I wouldn't trust BCA as far as I could throw them. The media center fault missing from the report is another example of how the company cons it's customers. No doubt it was covered in their disclaimer regarding grading.
Now that is real Jaguar. One sexy beast on the outside, awesome leather inside, powerful engine with a sound only a V-8 can produce.
Shifting V8's I would love to sell cars at a dealer. Been in the motor industry 31 years from workshop to Recovery.

was wondering myself.... even the vehicle MOT search mentioned sub frame issues and he clearly knew the front discs were a concern.....

I agree with everything you’ve said on this vlog James. It’s appalling what’s happened to you. For a while now I keep seeing the words ‘Unalive’ and ‘unalived’ and the penny’s just dropped after watching this it’s obviously being used instead of the ‘D’ word. On a driving experience day, I was driving a lambo gallardo, it started to rain, I came round a corner and the bloke in front of me had just blonked one of these into the barrier 😅
I had the same XKR, got it during the “C” times, 12k, it was low mileage and had a bespoke cherry red interior that the first owner paid 6k to have re-trimmed a week after collection!
I removed the exhaust mid-boxes to make it proper asbo grandad spec 😂 and had some of the chrome bits painted and wrapped black, changed the front grilles for a later style black version, sold for 15k after a year ownership, nice cars 👍
Brilliant video. Completely agree regarding the R over the XK! Totally different animal.
I made the same error while starting the jag first time. Unlike a BMW, etc, where you just give the start button a quick press and off it goes, you have to actually hold the button down while the starter turns over and release when you hear the v8 roar. It adds to the drama 😁👍

Great video 👍 Air con ,Rusty subframe damaged subframe ,Brakes ? did you sort or do you wait untill sold interesting video the car now looks great but having seen the video I wouldn,t touch it as no mention of the other issues being repaired not having a go but if it was me I would want to advertise how well I prepare for sale the video makes it look like buy a rough car at auction give it a polish fix the bare minimum and ask top money
Agree... If they've deferred some of the items to the next owner id be disappointed and wouldn't be interested in the car, and it looks bad on here.... Come on Joe, don't lose sight of quality in pursuit of the big bucks

@@FanaticQuattro hopefully but not convinced would have been good to see and proper figures noticed on a few videos things mentioned and then left but I am sure if the buyer picks them up they will sort out on pre delivery prep just feel the video doesn't do them any favours

Good video. Not just about how clever or not clever you are for buying the cheapest and fastest over engineered sports car around.
The XKR looks gorgeous and sounds brilliant and I imagine are great to drive - a lot of car for the money - I could be seriously tempted! The engine is said to be pretty reliable some say better than 5.0 V6 fitted in later models.

I drove a later one with the supercharged 5 litre. It had a little work done, pulley, map etc and pushed out 650bhp. It seemed so calm and civilized cruising along, nice ZF auto around town. Then when you let rip it was evidently like a monstrous dinosaur waking up. Terrifying. Completely overwhelmed the rear wheels. Way too much power for the traction it had.
That car sounds awesome, it looks great too, well done Joe, hopefully this will earn a decent profit.
The only downside being the VED, £735 is ridiculous.

If its anything like replacing the front subframe on an ZJ6 or XJS your are looking at the best part of £1k plus VAT without fitting and any other bits that might be required.

I have a 2009 XKR-S, 4.2..I doubt you will get a subframe fitted for a thousand pounds fitted. Parts are extremely expensive, transmission fluid, coolant and oil also needs done and brake fluid and discs. They are absolutely monsters so you can get a new Ford fiesta or get this thing sorted
@@toffeepie1878 Please read my comment correctly I said Sub frame plus VAT to purchase the item, that excludes labour costs and any other associated parts i.e. a set of four mounting brackets will cost around £200. I think the last sub frame I purchased was around £948 plus VAT.
@@user-jy8mo5fi5q I have a XKRS I know how much these things cost to fix up, a subframe on these is a substantial repair and it's likely other suspension parts will also be required - I would have £1500 at hand for such a job, at the bare minimum. Having said that I wouldn't hesitate to get the work done because they are such a great car to own and much more special than run of the mill rubbish you see on the road everyday
I wouldnt mind a modern Jag, I used to drive an XJS and loved it but the petrol bills were enormous!

Great cars, I have 2008 xkr for over 6 years 61000 miles no trouble, had rear subframe treated as surface rust but nothing else, really want a aston v8 but cannot bring myself to sell the jag.
Always do your maths, big purchase gamble, say 750 profit on 5 purchases, net profit is the same! 😮

My brother had one of these about 8 years ago and it had supercharger pulley upgrade and it was insanely quick he bought then for £16,000
I love these XKR;s, Such a rare sight on the roads these days, Pretty sure the Bodyshell is aluminium so hopefully no corrosion issues apart from the bolt on steel subframes as you said Joe, Only weak point i know about on these V8's is the timing chain tensioners and guides but i think that was on the previous XK model?
You’ve got some stones on you that’s for sure.
Try disconnecting the battery for an hour (I didn’t leave it that long) and see if the screen comes on.
I smoked Jags round for a few years, one of them had the dead screen thing. On the way back from buying it from Brighouse I disconnected the battery and it all came back on.
It would do it every 9 months or so.
Just seen it was an amp, at least it’s fixed 👍
It certainly looks like a beautiful Jaguar on the outside. However on the inside, apart from the seats it could be a Toyota. I have two Jags, a 1996 and a 2006 and the interiors don't look like a cheap common so called luxury car.

I have a full . wild cat (arden) aj20 body kit for one of these . I manged to get it clearing a body shop out for the land lord after he evicted the tenant. Ive always kept it, as i hope to acquire one soon. once ive finished my mk2 capri restoration or get more space in my work shop . Probably the best jag made? bar the xj v12 .

That's how the government will deal with vehicles they don't want on the road, i expect this will be the way they will deal with all petrol and diesel vehicles, they will price them off the road to push people to electric cars and net zero.

4.3 to Supercharged difference, when first met my G/Friend, she had a gorgeous 03 plate 4.2 convertible ex demo, this was about 2012 - I got a ride in a tin top XKR about a year later and F*ck me what a diifeerfent car, owneer said throttle was very on/off !!!
