I remember as a kid watching this video everyday after school to keep me motivated while saving up to buy this wheel. I ended up getting the dfgt though. That was like like 10 years ago.
Aww man I appreciate your comment. Literally made my day! The DFGT was nice too for the times. Now there's the DFGT and G27's baby, the G29. Lol So many good wheels on the market now.
This must've been a lot of fun especially 17 years ago! How time flies.... I remember enjoying this game to the max when I was a kid, lapping the nurburgring in a Ford fpv
It was. Back then I didn't have a care in the world. I was just another middle school kid with too much time on his hands, so I would put on my Initial D CD that I burned from music that I got on Limewire, and I would drift for hours! Time sure flies...I was around 14 in this video, and I'm 32 now.
16 years ago, damn. Im sponsored on Assetto for drifting and here i am trying to find out if i can play GT4 with wheel support for the nostalgia and this pops up 😂
Back then, all I did was learn how to create a line, and learn the different drift techniques through watching real racing videos, D1GP, drift bible, and even Initial D lol. Then I take the knowledge I gained from those shows and implemented it on the game and practiced a lot. Eventually i came natural, and I mastered the wheel in about 7 days. From the time I posted my previous DFP videos of me having it for only "2 days" and the post date of this one means that it only took 7 days.
Because when im drifting the force goes to the opposite direcction and that causes the wheel to swing back. So i just throw it into position but other than that feed back is on
You can find it in the Used car show room 2 on a certain week. Its easy to point out seeing its the only Panda colored car there. The whole name is the Toyota GT-Apex AE86 Trueno Shuichi Shigeno ver. '00 hope that helps!
Well it depends. If you get used to playing with the remote then playing with the steering wheel will be hard at first. If you're use to playing with the wheel, you'll think it's easier than playing with the remote. But if you're like me, you can play with both the remote and steering wheel so both seems pretty easy. I know it doesn't really answer your question but that's just how it is.
Well, the DFP makes noises and only has 2 pedals and a stick for shifting up. The G25 has 6speed sequential shifter and a clutch. They both are 900 degrees rotational, and I believe the G25 has more force feed back.
God that looks like so much fun. I just bought GT4 like 2 days ago, and I know nothing about the game or really much about cars for that matter, but I am having a good time. I think I need to buy that wheel though.
i also agree although turbocharged drift cars are tuned to reduce lag and most drift cars use ball bearing turbos which have minimal lag. i have been in an s15 which was running 18psi and the lag was not alot compared to a skyling r33 gtst with a similar boost 17psi but the turbo was not ball bearling. Something to think about
I have the same wheel, and I have to tell you, drifting with a wheel is so much better than a controller! With the wheel you have a lot better control over the steering and throttle, to make your drifts as good as possible. With the controller, it's really hard to control the throttle and steering isn't as accurate as a wheel.
I'd say it's a possibility. But I guess it has to deal with how much you can adapt and also the kind of driver you are. If you are looking to drive smooth and fast then I think it would help.
Well from my POV I say it's easier because you have more control when it comes to steering. The thing about using the remote is that it's hard to figure out how much steering to actually use but with the wheel, it's a bit easier. I also guarantee that if you use the wheel all the time, you lose skill with the remote. I can barely use the remote anymore.
Yea its still in use, especially since I can use it on the PS3 with Grand Turismo 5 Prolouge and I bet maybe even The original GT5 to come. But they shouldnt be too expensive anymore. They came out with a new DFP for the PS3 with more stuff so the 1st DFP's price should have dropped now.
Yea that happens lol. Don't worry, as you use it the rubber will be more gentle with your hands. The same thing happened to me when I started using it but the rubber lost its grip so everything was fine after that stage. Just hang in there!
No, the EX is the less expensive wheel. Still has force feed back etc but only turns 300 degrees (rather than 900) and has padel shift rather than gearstick.
No the one with the GT Emblem is a limited edition and they dont sell them anymore. --.-- Thats why when I bought it, it says "Driving Force Pro" on the front of it. They both have exactly the same features except that they have different symbols.
Only sometimes but less likely while drifting. You can but it depends on how your car is reacting. Further more, if you ever shift down, don't attempt to drift in first gear.
yea its really worth it! it makes it waaaay more realistic and if u have enough money u can buy a g25 but its really expensive and i think u can use it with PS3 also. only difference is the clutch and 6speed sequential shifter
@topgearnut1989 Nope. The DFGT wasn't in existence 3 years ago. It also has some extra nobs and buttons on it for settings stuff like Traction Control while racing or driving on GT5P, and GT5.
I'd say the only difference with it is the RPM's. Its higher than your average AE86, and if its turbo charged then there's also a power difference but if you keep it N/A then the only difference is you have more RPM's to play with.
Im using the Toyota GT-Apex AE86 Trueno Shuichi Shigeno Ver. '00. You can find it in the Used car show room 2 on certain days. You can find the normal AE86 '83 in the classic car show room.
The same way you change your config on the remote. All you do is you go to options. Controller config. and click on upshift, then press up on the shift knob and it'll change to maybe R1 I think. Then go to shift down and press down on it. it'll change to L1 if im right. And no it isnt light actually. All im doing is freewheeling it by letting the wheel go in the direction I want it to. lol hope that helps
All i can tell you is with this wheel if it is resistant because mine is too, all you have to do is maybe do a little feint and let the wheel swing into the direction you want it to. Either that or just Turn as hard as you can. Thats all I can tell you. Good Luck!
That takes the fun out of everything. Not to mention that you have to put the wheel back to its original position. To me the wheel becomes useless at that point.
All you really have to do is give it more throttle depending on how much you countersteer. If you're countersteering a little bit then give it more throttle. Usually when you don't countersteer enough, you get that "kickback". How ever, if your drift seems like it's stopping, it might be because you're using too much angle which the car isn't set for. You might also be using a lot of countersteering so feather the throttle because it may cause you to completely spin out.
@TVGames2009 Honestly, I've never used it on the PC but my friend has. But I think it works like this: 200-900 degrees can be used depending on the game. For example. when I play GT3 with the DFP, it is set to 200 and does not support 900. When I play GT4 & GT5, the wheel supports 900 degrees. As for GRID, it supports both. So I'm guessing with the PC, it's the same thing. Any games that are completely compatible with the DFP should have settings to change it. But I'm not sure if I'm correct.
If you mean the wheel then any local store thats near you like if you live in the U.S, Best Buy. If you mean the Shuichi Shigeno AE86 then its in Used Car Show Room 2 at certain times of the week.
Actually, it's easier to drift with manual. The only reason why I say that is because with automatic, it's a little bit hard to get the revs or torque that you need. You'd have to know exactly when and where the gear will shift up or down. With manual, you have more freedom with controlling your revs and torque. For most beginner manual users, shifting the gears seems hard to comprehend. Anyone can get use to it over time though. I actually use to use automatic myself.
It definitely was from myself, but i can't remember what they were. It's been about 3 years since I last played GT4 with my DFP since my disk broke. I want to get a new GT4 though, it's an awesome game!
Yo thats pretty cool dogg. I am bidding on a gfp right now. I am winning and I am going to love it. I have gt4 too. Nice Vid. How did you drift so well?
I never tried a momo wheel before so I wouldnt know. But my guess is the DFP. But if you have the money and want a very good wheel, your best bet is the G25. Comes 900degrees rotational, I think 5 or 6speed sequential Shifter with a clutch, and a carpet gripping system on the bottom of the pedals.
I bought it when it first came out too but no this isnt a drift mode in it, just a practice in simulation mode. Just jumped on the track and drifted. :)
Although those games are still fun to play. But I must say that it is incomparable. GT4 and 5 are simulations where as Maximum Tune and Initial D is Arcade. But GT4 just owns :P
Car Show Room 2 but u gotta catch the days when its there. only comes in white and black so and thats the only white and black car there so just look for that color
Not really, the gt one was when it now came out and it was a limited edition. Now you can only find the GT ones online in ebay or any site like that but they're used. But they both have same features just with a different sign.
Yea you mustve either got it at a early stage in which it was a limited edition or either bought it online. I basically recently got mine so thats why its different. But there is no difference in their abilities.
Oh yea one more thing...I was able to turn the wheel fast through dynamic drifting.Basically, the wheel turns itself as I initiate drifts through feint and braking drifts.
i got mine when the game came out as part of a gamepod (which only cost me £40 for the wheel instead of £90) package but the good thing with logitech is that they replace hardware if it malfunctions which the first one i got started to have a mind of its own when calibrating so logitech replaced it with an identical one. Thing is that i was not aware that there is one out there like yours.
There's a way to make it turn. Mine was the same way, but if you observe my video, you'll notice that I'm not turning that much until my drift is actually initiated. But it isn't me doing the counter-steering.
lmao I know right. Pretty nostalgic stuff right there. I have a new set up with an even better wheel and Gran Turismo 5. ; ] I also plan on buying a track car when I get $6000 more dollars. I'm sitting at $6000 right now, so in about 4 months time, I should be buying one. It'll only be for the track though, and I won't ever drive it on the streets.
well all i have to say about drifting on gt games with a dfp is to let the wheel swing into the opposite direction of the corner when you start the drift. and no the wheel wont break once u dont put pressure downwards on the wheel because its possible it can snap. that is rather amazing drifting... i myself have been trying to learn to drift with the dfp... what settings for the wheel are you running? seems much more responsive and controllable than mine...
I can't quite remember since it has been over a year and a half since I last played GT4 (It broke. =[). But I think it was a bit different from the default set up.
umm, I cant remember. I don't play GT4 anymore. I play GT5P now. But try setting ride height all the way down. Tune your 86 with eveything besides a turbo charger and brake controller. Use Sports soft in the front and sports hard in the back and set spring rate to 13.2 front and rear and -2 for toe angle both front and rear. Set the transmission wideness to 13 and take off driving aids.
Well what you would have to do so that wouldnt happen is you need to find out how much throttle to use because steering alone wont fix it. Most times that is the issue. Im using Sports soft in the front and sports hard in the back.
idk i just picked it up in 50minutes. I learned by using a 64hp car 1st and tune it all the way and just tried drifting it then use faster cars as u get better.
It works but the wheel won't set back to its original position like it's suppose to. You'd have to set it yourself so basically it doesn't work at least properly.
im using N/A but i think the power difference when its tuned with N/A isnt much of a difference but if its turbo charged u have more power than the average 86
yes, force feedback works, I tryed in settings and all the things works(crash, bridge etc.) and when I plug it in it starts to calibrate, but when I am playing the game I could only steer if I turn wheel to one side and then wait the FF to turn it back to center and then again... and that sux, with that I can only play truck games
I have noticed that the central hub has the logitech logo branded on it as opposed to the wheel that I own which has the GT icon branded on to the central hub. Also, I would have presumed that GT5 HD/Prologue option as it would be a mistake if they did not implement the DFP into the game.
I remember as a kid watching this video everyday after school to keep me motivated while saving up to buy this wheel. I ended up getting the dfgt though. That was like like 10 years ago.

DrifterKP Yeah, I’m rocking a t150 now with GTsport.
11 years ago. Look at the technology we had back then!
Kidyugi1 Gran Turismo 4 is still a formiddable game, actually.
@@39PSIOnTheDaily I still play it! (via emulator on PC, with a wheel)
The technology was not excessive... it was damn near perfect.
This must've been a lot of fun especially 17 years ago! How time flies.... I remember enjoying this game to the max when I was a kid, lapping the nurburgring in a Ford fpv

I used to own this wheel and play on CRT TV also, bring me back to 10 year ago...BTW nice drift
I was 3 days old when this vid was posted thats lowk crazy to think abt 💀💀💀
Back then, all I did was learn how to create a line, and learn the different drift techniques through watching real racing videos, D1GP, drift bible, and even Initial D lol. i finally got mine :)!!!!!! it was smaller than i expected but it was a great buy! the force feedback is amazing
Almost 13 years ago, no more ps2, no more milemium... but who cares that? that era still in our memories
15 years laters i puchased this wheel
good too see theres still talent out there....
God hand from initial D 😱
This will be recommend in a few months for sure
You can find it in the Used car show room 2 on a certain week. Its easy to point out seeing its the only Panda colored car there. The whole name is the Toyota GT-Apex AE86 Trueno Shuichi Shigeno ver. '00 hope that helps!
please make a comeback of this wheel this year
The new D.K.
Congrats.

there is a new dfp coming out to pre order now. its $150 it has a little stronger force feedback, the wheel is a bit biggger, and it has more buttons
You can find it in the used car dealer 2. Btw, it isn't a Mazda, it's a Toyota GT-Apex Trueno AE86 Shuichi Shigeno ver. '00
God that looks like so much fun. I just bought GT4 like 2 days ago, and I know nothing about the game or really much about cars for that matter, but I am having a good time. I think I need to buy that wheel though.

thanks, sorry for the late reply. I used Sports soft tires in the front and hard in the rear.
Yea i had Force Feedback on. At first it seems tough to turn but it becomes easier as you use it.
That was sweet. looks like you have been playing gt4 for a long time

You are probably the first GT4 drifter I've seen to have 100% throttle. nice job though.
so baller! This one handed drifting is amazing. Do you play in other views other than the one in this video?
If you mean the wheel then any local store thats near you like if you live in the U.S, Best Buy. If you mean the Shuichi Shigeno AE86 then its in Used Car Show Room 2 at certain times of the week.
yes it does work without the adapter, i donno which person said no, but u just dont have the force feedback

I never tried a momo wheel before so I wouldnt know. But my guess is the DFP. But if you have the money and want a very good wheel, your best bet is the G25. Comes 900degrees rotational, I think 5 or 6speed sequential Shifter with a clutch, and a carpet gripping system on the bottom of the pedals.
cuz the gt4 logo DFP was a limited edition, they dont sell them in stores anymore
Pity you slipped out at the end :)
Great great driving :D
I actually have it the other way around. I shift up by pulling it downwards. I shift down by pushing upwards.
Days when GT was racing king
Thanks and not neccessarily. I also use it to play online in Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix because I have one of the best teams on that game.
I bought it when it first came out too but no this isnt a drift mode in it, just a practice in simulation mode. Just jumped on the track and drifted. :)
lol its ok I believe you. The sound of the car should be hint enough. Good job!
Well, I guess it all depends on your tune and how much angle being used. But angle and throttle response are the biggest keys.
Although those games are still fun to play. But I must say that it is incomparable. GT4 and 5 are simulations where as Maximum Tune and Initial D is Arcade. But GT4 just owns :P
Yea that fits in with the tuning category though
Car Show Room 2 but u gotta catch the days when its there. only comes in white and black so and thats the only white and black car there so just look for that color
Not really, the gt one was when it now came out and it was a limited edition. Now you can only find the GT ones online in ebay or any site like that but they're used. But they both have same features just with a different sign.

I played Forza 2 but i think it was fairly easy to drift in. I drifted in a stock 86
It has some analog like sticks on the wheel for controlling stuff like TCS and ASM while playing GT.
i got mine when the game came out as part of a gamepod (which only cost me £40 for the wheel instead of £90) package but the good thing with logitech is that they replace hardware if it malfunctions which the first one i got started to have a mind of its own when calibrating so logitech replaced it with an identical one. Thing is that i was not aware that there is one out there like yours.
@eltsu56 There's not really a trick to making it turn easy, but once you get used to the wheel, turning will become easier.
very nice, as for me i got off track and was MIA for a while but im back. what car you planning to get?
There's a way to make it turn. Mine was the same way, but if you observe my video, you'll notice that I'm not turning that much until my drift is actually initiated. But it isn't me doing the counter-steering.
Well i wouldnt really say its inefficient. Sometimes it can come very useful in certain racing situations. And ty
lmao I know right.
Thats why that sticker of the kid touching the wheel is there.lol
that is rather amazing drifting...
i myself have been trying to learn to drift with the dfp...
what settings for the wheel are you running? seems much more responsive and controllable than mine...
I have this game and shredd with the controller I always wanted to experience the force feedback in that original wheel was it good?
I can't quite remember since it has been over a year and a half since I last played GT4 (It broke. =[). But I think it was a bit different from the default set up.
Don't listen to anyone. The Wheel DOES work just you don't get force feedback. and the steering is extremely light because of this.
umm, I cant remember.
You got some skills bud. Drifting is actually a really inefficient form of driving for the most part. It's alot of fun though.
It's possible. I use to drift with the controller before I started drifting with my DF and DFP. You just have to get the hang of it.
@thefresh911 yea it does. You'll have to get a driver for it but that's it.
Kiyoshi this vid feels like a GT4 forum now XD people arguing on whats better lmao
Well what you would have to do so that wouldnt happen is you need to find out how much throttle to use because steering alone wont fix it. Most times that is the issue. Im using Sports soft in the front and sports hard in the back.
ok, thanks. Great job with the video by the way.
Yea, not much power but yet a fast car with High RPM's. Love it! lol
No but im getting a new GT4 very soon. Maybe sometime this week.
idk i just picked it up in 50minutes.
Thanks for the flattery! X)
yes, force feedback works, I tryed in settings and all the things works(crash, bridge etc.) and when I plug it in it starts to calibrate, but when I am playing the game I could only steer if I turn wheel to one side and then wait the FF to turn it back to center and then again... and that sux, with that I can only play truck games
I have noticed that the central hub has the logitech logo branded on it as opposed to the wheel that I own which has the GT icon branded on to the central hub. Also, I would have presumed that GT5 HD/Prologue option as it would be a mistake if they did not implement the DFP into the game.
