  • Hey there, winter warriors! Today, we're hanging out with the one and only Ash Miller, racing driver extraordinaire and proud MySpec ambassador. Ash is here to show you how to get under your car and your soft top (if you have one) winter-ready using Lanoguard, Armorall and Renovo-because keeping your car sleek and protected doesn’t stop when the cold hits!
Buckle up, because we’re diving into everything you need to know, from protecting your soft top to getting the whole car prepped for whatever winter throws your way. Let’s ride into winter with Ash!
    Step 1: Lanoguard Love
Start by protecting your car's underbody from road salts and moisture with Lanoguard. Ash trusts it for serious rust protection through the cold season. ‪@Lanoguard‬
Step 2: Soft Top TLC with Renovo
For the soft top, Ash swears by Renovo Cleaner and Restorer. Clean it up and restore its waterproofing to keep it looking fresh and frost-proof all winter long! ‪@renovointernationalltd8329‬
    Step 3: Fluids Check
Top up that antifreeze and switch to winter-ready fluids. Ash’s advice: don’t let freezing temps catch you off guard.
    Step 4: Battery Prep
Winter drains car batteries quickly. Make sure your car is charged and ready to roll, whether it’s for race day or snowy adventures.
    Step 5: Keep it Cozy
Don’t forget a quality car cover to keep the snow and ice off your car. It’ll save you a lot of hassle when the temperatures drop.
Hit that like button if you're pumped for winter car care, and subscribe for more tips from Ash Miller! ‪@ashmillermotorsport‬

I have heard that a MK4 mx5 well any mx5 needs quite a lot more work then this to prepare and protect for the winter. Subframes are known to rust also all the box sections needs treatment and the drain tubes clearing. These cars come from the factory with minimal rust protection. A coat of lanoguard with help but I would invest in more treatments. They are too good to go rusty!

      The Mk4 is less prone to rust than all the others;
The ND is very well thought out in terms of where water can get trapped.
As far as I can tell, there's only one plain steel visible body panel and it's away from the salt danger zone:
      Plastic:
      Front bumper cover
      Rocker covers
      Lower rear arches outside
      Rear bumper cover
      Aluminum:
      Hood
Front wings (the cited manual page appears to be wrong)
      Bonnet lid
      Galvanized Steel:
      Door panels
      Upper rear arches
      Steel:
      Rear deck panel
The treatment is more peace of mind with the car; it's a 2016 car and shows absolutely no signs of rust underneath, despite being driven in the winter
