When I was very little, I only understood “Power” so I kept playing as Max and underestimated Skate. Later when I got older and understood the values in other stats, I gave Skate a try. Though I still wasn’t great with him, my opinion on him changed drastically. He had a lot of really fun looking moves, loved his jumps, and just found him intriguing and eccentric! As such, I *wanted* to be good with Skate but I could never get far enough with him with my own skills. So seeing a perfect run of his campaign here is satisfying! I’ll be watching how you play as Blaze next followed by Axel.
Power rules though - playing as anyone other than Max was just an extra level of difficulty you could use to challenge yourself. Skate's speed becomes less useful late in the game when many of the fights are in smaller spaces.
Used to wait all week until Friday night to rent this from Blockbuster video as a kid... Best feeling in the world to get there just in time to get the last copy they had, invite my cousins over and pull an all nighter.
I've always said that the first level of any game is the most important because it leaves the most lasting impression. SoR 2's first level is Top-5 all-time for me. The color, the lighting, the atmosphere, the grittiness, the "oomph" of the hits (especially the pipe)... and of course how hard Koshiro's house music just BALLS OUT. SoR 2 is a masterpiece.
I used to lose lives in the first stage on easy as a kid... You made it through the whole game on the hardest level without literally taking any damage... I tip my hat to you sir
Yuzo Koshiro made this music a thumping beat compared to final fight game series... Challenge winner is streets of rage series and also my memories in 2004 May to June 2004 summer vacation in South India,Tamil Nadu, Chennai...
My respects for this perfect longplay, I barely could beat this game in normal difficulty on PS3, never got into SOR back in the day so this is almost new for me.
@Kyo 11 Thank you so much for your respectful compliment about my Gaming Skills and I'm very glad to hear that you enjoyed my Longplay / Walkthrough video of Streets of Rage 2. 😊🙏 Thank you very much for that and for taking your time to watch my Longplay / Walkthrough video of Streets of Rage 2. I truly appreciate that! 😊🙏
Wow! This brings back a lot of memories. You almost ran out of time defeating Mr. X in the final stage, but that was a close call. Speaking of "Soya" in Stage 7, this reminds me of a pun my brothers and I repeat: "I Soya at the mall today!" LOL!
Looks like this this dude has completed a 0 damage challenge in this play through . I watched some parts, maybe 10 minutes in total but I haven’t seen any damage taken, even in the last boss fight, his skill is truly impressive 💪
@Sandalover11 Yes, I already did some Longplay videos of "Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis)" with all characters on the Mania difficulty setting as well. If you are interested, you can check them out in my TH-cam Channel. 😊👍 Here are the links to my Longplay videos of "Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis)" with all Characters on the Mania difficulty setting: Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis) - (Longplay - Axel Stone | Mania Difficulty): th-cam.com/video/Z45K0Ynq6w0/w-d-xo.html Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis) - (Longplay - Blaze Fielding | Mania Difficulty): th-cam.com/video/BxA1BNHAz6Y/w-d-xo.html Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis) - (Longplay - Eddie "Skate" Hunter | Mania Difficulty): th-cam.com/video/4DrQILIJvXk/w-d-xo.html Streets of Rage 2 (Sega Genesis) - (Longplay - Max "Thunder" Hatchet | Mania Difficulty): th-cam.com/video/07gDw4KjYu4/w-d-xo.html Enjoy! 😊🙏
@Ben S Thank you so much, Ben S! 😊🙏 I greatly appreciate that! 😊🙏 By the way, the Stationary Special Attack and the Directed Special Attack decreases the player's life gauge in the Sega Genesis version of Streets of Rage 2 as well.
does anyone know how he throws the enemies using an Xbox 360 controller or sega controller ? Been trying for ages to get good at skate but I can’t learn how to throw them? Any help😩😂
@Summer x To perform a throwing attack when playing as Skate Hunter on the Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive Controller, grab the enemy (from front or behind) and press the C button (Jump button) and then the B button (Attack button) to throw the enemy.
@Oludotun John Showemimo Yes, in Streets of Rage 1, Abadede first appears as the final opponent on the beach portion of Level 3. Later, he is a sub-boss in levels 5 and 8. In each of these cases, two will appear in a 2-Player game. In Streets of Rage 2, Abadede returns as the boss of level 4 in an underground fighting arena beneath a baseball stadium. His palette swap Z Kusano / Barbarian / El Gigante appears in the elevator portion of level 8.
@FadedTears8476 If you are interested, I did some Longplay videos of both Japanese and U.S.A. @colby bohannan I absolutely didn't use any cheats, save states or tools while making this Longplay / Walkthrough video. It sure took a lot of time to practice and study the whole game before making this Walkthrough / Longplay video. I also had to be very patient. Countless runs were ruined while making a No Damage run Longplay.
I'm sorry but what a boring one you played, no injuries through the whole thing. That didn't impress me, it just spoilt it. No one likes a fun sponge mate

You weren't wrong to pick Max, though -- he's the best character in the game.
i main skate the reverse backflip move is one of most powerful attacks in game!!
Power rules though - playing as anyone other than Max was just an extra level of difficulty you could use to challenge yourself. Skate's speed becomes less useful late in the game when many of the fights are in smaller spaces.

💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
As a kid waitin all day to get outta school just to play streets of rage. I miss my childhood days
Me too,SoR is so cool
Skate cannonball head move is ruthless - right up there with Axel’s Bare knuckle
Mama used to love Skate and Axel! 😭😭😭 Too many memories.
Even the music is 90s. They try to make remakes nowdays but it never come close to the original it a classic.
Skates is awesome too use i completed the game twice with him last night😊
Skate was my go-to character back in the day when I had this game on Genesis
And I gotta say dude, you are a straight savage at this game
He was my go to as well

The soundtrack always amazing
Brought back childhood memories
Man I was obsessed with this game at 13! And I always made good use of them knives and swords. That’s how I used to beat this game so fast.
I love the soundtrack to this game!!!!!!!! The best in my opinion in the 90s era
Yuzo Koshiro made this music a thumping beat compared to final fight game series... Challenge winner is streets of rage series and also my memories in 2004 May to June 2004 summer vacation in South India,Tamil Nadu, Chennai...

Damn Skate (Sammy) headbutt deal most the damage
That flying head butt is a powerful move.
moral of the story never pick a fight with a kid on roller skates
Looks like this this dude has completed a 0 damage challenge in this play through . I watched some parts, maybe 10 minutes in total but I haven’t seen any damage taken, even in the last boss fight, his skill is truly impressive 💪

I’m curious, anyone know what he is saying whenever he does his special?
How do you consistently grab like that?
Can u do one with mania difficulty?

You rock at this. I’m frustrated with the Xbox version cos it takes health off you for using the special move
@Ben S
Thank you so much, Ben S! 😊🙏 I greatly appreciate that! 😊🙏
By the way, the Stationary Special Attack and the Directed Special Attack decreases the player's life gauge in the Sega Genesis version of Streets of Rage 2 as well.
Never beat it with my uncle and he got me hip a long time ago
So good
Some parts of the video the sounds are delayed
Haha, that was embarrassing what you did to Electra 😂 looked like she was just continuously getting smacked by her pimp 😂 🤣
This game would make 4 one bad Ass movie 😏
does anyone know how he throws the enemies using an Xbox 360 controller or sega controller ? Been trying for ages to get good at skate but I can’t learn how to throw them? Any help😩😂

To perform a throwing attack when playing as Skate Hunter on the Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive Controller, grab the enemy (from front or behind) and press the C button (Jump button) and then the B button (Attack button) to throw the enemy.
How you get a safe fall after an enemy grab?
@Kyo 11
If you get thrown (at 27:42 mark for example) press and hold "Up + Jump" buttons in air to safely land on your feet and take no damage.
Beat them up boy
I wish I can play it
Is Abadede also the 3 level boss in streets of rage 1m
@Oludotun John Showemimo

It literally says "no damage" in the thumbnail. Were you expecting him to take damage on purpose or something?
