Finally! Someone with an excellent Blaze gameplay. She has always been my favorite character in these games. I have been able to defeat this game with her on the hardest mode, but never without losing a life or two. Great content.

This game was one of the best Christmas presents me and my fraternal twin ever received the year it came out! It was so arcade-like in quality, I couldn't believe the Genesis/Mega Drive could crank out something THAT pristine. We played the first Streets of Rage so much it was almost like VG religion to us (lol), but then its much more tantalizing (AND SUPERIOR) sequel came out and there was no more talk of Nintendo in our household ever since. Ahhh, the good old days... :-)

Fun Fact: In stage three you head to the arcade part where you see arcade machines which are labeled Bare Knuckle. Bare Knuckle is what is called in the Japanese version of Streets of Rage
Streets of rage 2 updates (and nerfs) of enemies. (Vs streets of rage 1) 1. The girls with the whips are now sub bosses and they deal more damage now. And they are prettier 2. Big ben is now a sub boss/regular enemy 3. Souther is now worthy of being a boss and has more than 1 move! Speed increase 4. Abadede has more than 1 move now! And he has a crowd! 5. Karate dudes have more moves now but no speed. 6. Mr X has a new sidekick but still has the same moves and pattern. (He's gotta learn how to fight)
Blaze is my second choice, but man the games do my boi Adam dirty. I always gravitated to Adam because of how well rounded he was, even as a kid, I just instinctively chose Adam, and I always saw them as th og 3, like the main faces. Seeing them without Adam always felt empty or hollow. Hoping Adam is a main in 4

Bro I watched all of your gameplays of the Streets of rage trilogy. My favorite is Sor1. Sor1 was the hardest game for me. I could beat every other streets of rage game (on hard mode of course I'm not a pro) but sor1 I just couldn't do on hard or easy mode. And I always play as blaze so I thought I just needed to switch to Axel. Then I saw you play as blaze with no hits on hardest difficulty. Not even a hit from the blaze twins aka mona and lisa. So I basically watched that video once a week until I was able to do hardest mode with blaze and not have to use any continues and it worked.
…..meanwhile, Axel, Max and Skate hit the town on an epic guys night out… completely forgetting they had somewhere to be, but so happened to show up when all the fighting was done.
I have yet to see your Axel playthrough, but with Blaze it looks like you’re using weapons more than with Max and Skate. Not to mention a final score less than 999999 where those 2 have reached. I’m just making observations

Is this "HARDEST" or "MANIA" difficulty? This is NOT the hardest difficulty. They're not even attacking you. I'm the best player at this game. Seeing this, I know those asians manipulated me through their games. Abadede is actually letting you hold him. If this were hard, he wouldn't even let you hold him for long and he'd rush you for having distance in-between you and himself. This is NOT hardest.
yeah there's some kinda cheat enabled or something. i saw many instances where an enemy was standing right in front of him for a couple seconds and just waited for him to hit them. i just played this game on hard and the enemies are much quicker and aggressive. i also saw a few times when it looked like the enemies attacks went right through him. i don't believe for one second this is a legit playthrough. i wouldn't even believe this were legit if he said it were on normal, because even on normal the enemies aren't this passive and stupid.

Only in Streets of Rage 1 and 3, he will squash the player under his weight when you try to throw him.

Back in the day when I was a Kid, SOR was my favorite genesis game. I was naturally completely over the top hyped when SOR2 came out... and... utter dissapointment is all I experienced. Terrible game. Same goes for SOR3. Luckily, SOR4 revived the badassery of the original.

I love this game to death! I grew up on the Final Fight series, but Streets of Rage (ESPECIALLY SoR 1and 2) is superior to Final Fight in almost every way.

@@TurkishBullet19 I've watched a lot of SOR gameplays on TH-cam but never actually played one, so I found out that it's available on android and it is so hard. The controls are difficult to play with and I'm stuck on the last stage. Performing axel's grand upper is also tough in this version
I prefer to play Blaze from Bare Knuckle 3 in Streets of Rage 2 (hack by Gsaurus), she has similar abilities as original but looks better. Unfortunately this hack sometimes crashes and sprites are not fully compatible (hacking Mega Drive ROMs is difficult due to limited space). Anyway longplay is great.

Well, I can see that the U.S. version modified Blaze's look from a blue miniskirt and panties to a red miniskirt with pantyhose. Still very good, BTW.
