Had you never moved to Vietnam, you'd have regretted it, and Thuong-chan may have resented it. But now you have, and now you know. This was a necessary step, and so very important to long-term happiness. Well done.
Well said, I know this is advice for the Cruise, but is also true for all of us. I lived in other European country for last 8 years and recently moved. I find your comment so helpful. Thank you.
I love Vietnam and we cycled from North >Central>South over one month. The problems we had were terrible sidewalks, pollution, cars, trucks and motorbikes who just cut you off like you don't exist and honk at everything. It's normal for them but we always felt like bicycles we were the lowest point on the totem pole. We have since been back to Vietnam as tourists but we don't cycle anymore.
I told you! Whenever you leave Japan, you realize how awesome it actually it is. :) 22 years and no plans to ever leave. Japan is the BEST base and travel to all the other Asian countries. Asia has it all :)
Going and experiencing real crazy Asia makes everyone miss Japan, even with all its faults, oddities, endless bureaucracy, rules, and elitist, racist complex.
@@TwoWheelCruise yup i did it once. Moved back to canada for 8 months in 2003. It was a mistake and lesson learned. No need to force what place loves you.
Yes, they are not getting any younger. So much more to see and do in Asia. The US has become very expensive and dangerous. Settle down and have happy life.
I've been following the channel for a long time. I really like that the content is varied, cycling, travel, food, the big and small things in life. Greetings from Hungary :)
For me the best thing for you both is go to the us for thoung’s citizenship and then start your travel hassle free from visa applications and then settle back to japan
I agree. My wife is from the Philippines and we met in the states. We planned a trip once before here blue passport and the visa process was horrible and with covid it’s even harder I am sure. She got the US passport and since then we have been to 15 countries. So easy. The only issue is the US is very expensive. It would be fun if you travelled around the states on bike tours.
@@TwoWheelCruise very few things as useful as a US passport. Life for us got a lot easier once my wife from China got hers. Just don't live somewhere cold.
Go back to Japan! Me and my wife are living in japan now for USA military. We are going to be so sad when we have to leave. We love it here. So safe, so clean, and japanese are so nice and respectful.
I don't follow this channel too much, so my opinion on topics isn't too major. What I really love the most about this channel is the innocent positivity of it. Thuong's cheerfulness combined with the main guy's educational approach really has some charm to it. It's weird how TH-cam works, since so many content creators tend to cover the same content -- I typically just drift to whichever ones have the best personalities. Keep up the good work!
I'm not surprised after she said that in the previous video the only good thing apart from family was the food. I've had friends say they really miss living in Japan so you're not alone. I love all your videos regardless of content.
I agree too Japan is the best in Asia especially for cyclists, clean, weather, shopping, safe, good food, quiet, onsen, polite people….. I love Japan! Don’t try Malaysia which not much different to Vietnam 😭 I want to move to Japan too
We just found you and love your videos! We are a couple like you traveling the world, but at a different stage of our lives. We were traveling fulltime just as Covid hit and we rushed back to the USA. Last year we travelled for 8 months till we tired of the different Covid req everywhere, so back to the USA. We are Travelers and cyclists! So we enjoy you talking through your options in life and showing us some cycling! What do we like viewing??? We like specifics on travel and specifics on cycling anything that helps us plan where we are going next or what might be worth a visit! Sounds like you have lots of options, but if you come back to the USA, may we recommend Longmont, CO just north of Boulder, CO. The winters may be cold, but cycle-able and the cycling roads/community is fantastic. We moved here just because of the cycling: Road, Gravel!! and Mountain biking is close by too! Love it!! We love Singapore, so can't wait to see if go there!!! We didn't have our bikes, but we Grabbed a bike sharing app and enjoyed the cycling the trails!!! I would run one way till I couldn't run anymore and take the bike share bike back! Keep up the great work with your videos we really like what you are doing and look forward to your travels and life choices!!! #traveltheworld #cycletheworld Happy to see you on IG too!!
its nice watching your vlogs in Japan as I get to explore it more through your POV.. there's just something in Japan that makes it peaceful and easy.. plus the countryside is just refreshing to watch
I'm just amazed at how you kept your cool the entire time all that stuff was happening. I would've raged the entire time. This is a standard for me, riding in the Philippines. I've never ridden anywhere else, just here in my home country. And people here act just about the same as here in your present location, except the roads here are narrower and you have a lot less room to work with and more vehicles in the same relative space. Heck even cyclists don't follow the rules. Good on you for making it such a chill experience despite all the crazy stuff that happened in the span of this video. Stay safe out there..
Don't change your format guys, been watching you for years and the mix is what makes it fun. Hope you settle in Japan but I know the visa situation is tough.
Just go back to japan, make the biking videos in the manga land that i learned to love as a kid, from mangas. While i appreciate every information that you share with us about living in japan you dont need to always entertain us by always preparing valuable information or fancy cutting and effects, no pressure, its okay if you dont talk all the time, just turn the camera on and cruise trough the manga land, the main reason i started watching your channel was to have the illusion of biking through japanese citys while working out on my training bike in my living room xD just keep doing what you love, and yes please do it in japan xD sorry for my poor language greetings from germany
I came across your channel a few months before you left Japan (sadly) but I spent a bunch of time watching your previous videos. While I've enjoyed Thailand and Vietnam I miss Japan too :) I enjoyed those old commuting videos in Japan. It was really enjoyable to see such beautiful scenery that was part of your commute and hear you chatting about your lives in Japan. I enjoyed the trips to the grocery store and the weekend outings you would do together. It was great to see these little slices of life in Japan and that's what attracted me your channel. Your channel has shifted a bit away from that and I understand how your lives have shifted too and that's totally fine. If your journey takes you back to Japan (or wherever you go but I'm biased and love Japan), I'd love to see those old-style videos come back to life again!
Cruz, a buddy and me just got back from Korea. The cycling scene is off the hook! We did the cycling passport tour. It is so awesome. Hope Thoung can get the visa in order to visit.
I have a Korean wife who did not speak much English when she came to the USA and it was a tough road for her. But -- what made things a little better for her is that we lived in a college town area and there were lots of Asian students, so she did not feel too out of place. One suggestion I would like to make to you is that if you move to the USA, choose a location with a sizeable Asian population. If you don't mind a second suggestion -- if you stay in Vietnam, I would move closer to her family so you have lots of babysitters when (or if) that time comes! Good luck with your future decision.
Team "Two Wheel" thank you for your content and I understand your desire to return to Japan. I myself am married to a Japanese and we are moving back to Japan after living in Virginia for the past 7 years. While we love Virginia we have always desired to live in Japan. Your content from Japan was very nice and pleasant yet, I find you Vietnam content somewhat stressful (LOL). I was recently in Japan and would ride on the cycling trails however, even the streets I felt somewhat protected. I would ride from Asakusa to Roppongi but found it a pleasant ride with stops at a nice coffee shop prior to my ride home. Vietnam appears to be an "awesome" to visit (I will in the future) yet not somewhere I would cycle...Just my thoughts. Anyway, keep up the great content!
Aloha from Maui! If you decide on The US, I would definitely say Hawaii. It's very easy to travel back and forth to Japan. And thanks again for all your work and great videos.
I agree Hawaii is half way between Asia and the US. Plus it’s tropical beautiful, food is great, people are friendly not angry like the mainland, Japanese is spoken everywhere.
I hope you will fully document the entire process when you start planning the move back to Japan. It would be very interesting for people who may be considering such a move in the future.
Yeah, wherever we end up going I will document the process. I regret not starting a YT channel earlier when I first went to Japan. Actually, when I studied abroad in 2011 I did buy a camera and was vlogging my flight there but then left the camera on the plane and gave up after that.
I like your videos because I can see different places in other countries, like Japan, Vietnam. I also like your talking about their cultures, people and the things you know, what you like and what you don't like.
My opinion on this opinion: Positives on moving back to Japan: - You already know the language; - Already have experience living there; - Safer traffic; - Less pollution; - Less hot days compared to Vietnam; - Social security system is better; - Healthcare is better; - Food is delicious; - Public transportation; - Japan has a wide arrangement of terrain for cycling; - Safer overall environment; - Good safe place for raising kids (for the future); Negatives of moving back to Japan: - Cultural differences in jobs can be quite stressful if wanting to build a career here; - Rent can be expensive for what you get; - Paperwork is never ending; - Life is expensive (especially when having a lot of friends who have their weddings hahaha);
Personally, I think the best thing about Japan is it's four seasons, strong culture and amazing scenery. Cherry blossom, summer beach, changing autumn leaves and snowy mountains in the winter. I think some 'half' children have a difficult time growing up in Japan. They may never be fully accepted as Japanese and this will effect their future job prospects in Japan. On they other hand, if they had fluent Japanese, English and Vietnamese that would be a real boost to their career potential. There's a saying that adults don't bring up their children, the other kids at their school do. I get the feeling some half-kids in Japan become super-starts and do very well. Others get bullied of usually end up rejecting one of their parents cultures, refusing to speak the language even when they can. But hopefully things are changing for the better.
The lack of TWC videos made me switch to walking tours channel! Regarding the content preference, I like long videos the most and product reviews the least. Also I like how you plan things strategically, I think you are doing it right!
Sorry about that and thank you! I've been struggling with thinking about different things and what to talk about, but maybe I should just do more long ride videos and talk about random things during the ride.
I had a feeling this video was coming. Japan is a great place to live, and a very hard place to immigrate to, once you're out, you're out for good usually.
I know quite a few people who've left and come back. The trouble is you start over on the 10 year clock to permanent residency. But if you left on good terms, it shouldn't be difficult to go back.
I love all of the videos. I like the variety. The cycling, showing your home, showing the various foods. It’s all great. Understandable that you would want to move to a quieter and safer place, also with less pollution. I know I couldn’t be there for very long.
Time marches on. I think subconsciously that you are becoming less interested in the excitement offered by travel and more interested in finding a place of security and permanence. Japan vs Viet Nam is a no brainer. Ultimately though, I think for the 2 of you, it will boil down to Japan vs the US. I'm routing for you both, wherever you end up.
Love watching you guys. You show things that some of us may never see in real life. I think your video content is what you want it to be. Short little rides like this or long training rides with little to no talking I'm sure would be fine. My thing right now is bikepacking cause I live in rural Missouri and dirt roads and trails are in abundance here. I'm a trail running by trade;) I starting watching a lot of bikepacking videos and youtubers like Ryan Van Duzer. When you make it to the US you might try something like that. I'm sure that's harder in a place like a Vietnam or Japan. Cheers to your next adenture!
I watch all of it...I tell Everyone about your channel...Just the idea of traveling and biking is so dope to me...I wish you both well on all your travels and plans...stay unique.
Canada here. I really liked this night ride, a little hairy but okay if you ride predictably. I prefer bike travel together. I am like a fish out of water without my bike so I relate to these videos. I knew you would not settle for VN nor Thailand due to the lack of life infrastructure that Japan can offer. Yes, get to the US quickly so you can have flexibility for international travel. Spend your time in Florida for the winter and Michigan for the other months while in the US. As a Canadian with this privilege, I want this for the both of you. I love your long videos. So satisfying. About the heat. I spend Jan & Feb in Florida and by March it is time to leave to go north as the temperature climbs to the high 20s and high humidity.
Japan is one of the cleanest and safest countries in the world. I would want to go back in a heartbeat as well. You also mentioned that you're training...what are you training for? Races? Make more videos of your rides to different areas (similar to the NHK Cycle Around Japan series but in Vietnam). I still enjoy watching your videos though...
It sure is! We're not training for anything in particular now. I just wanted to get back in riding shape so we could do events or tours if they come up and Strava KOM hunting is fun too 😂
Your channel for me is an american expat that went to Japan, married Vietnamese, and that life experience through the lens of a common love of cycling and cultural exploration. Love it. Moving to the US would no doubt terminate that trajectory, but what is best for your relationship and destiny together? From what I'm seeing, not Vietnam, though there is clearly much to explore there and regionally. Looking forward to your exploration of Korea!
I know you guys have a bit of wanderlust and want to travel as much as possible but knowing you as much as I have from watching your videos plus my own personal experience with living in different places, I feel confident in saying that once a place feels like "home," it needs to become your permanent home. Put down some long-term goals that can only be, or best be accomplished in your "home." Either way i hope we get to go along for the ride with you so we can cheer you on. much love. be safe, have fun and I'll see you in the next one.
There are many good things in Vietnam definitely, especially as a holiday destination as everybody knows, but for a real cycling lover like you it cannot be or become the place where to spend your life, unless you accept that daily mess and kind of give up practicing your favorite activity in a normal way. I'm really surprised by your amazing level of patience facing those roads. I'm a cycler like you, but I couldn't stand something like this every single day. Come back to Japan Cruise IMO ;)
In your hearts, you guys have already decided to go back to Japan and I am sure that most of us that have spent time there would say in unison - Good call! Home is where the heart is...Happy for you guys.
Think about setting up "Online Store" in Vietnam with remote "offices" in Thailand and Japan and anywhere else you visit ! You can sell your merch and promote Sponsors via that and be an International Business Owners 😀 Thuong chan can also be the Tour-Guide / Tour-Operator / Route-Planner / Accessory-Designer-Model-Sales 😀
As for your questioning about the contents of the channel, I'd like to say is the diversity of topics is what really keeps me interested in your channel. In case you decide to starte different dedicated channels, the whold of your adventures is going to be lost. I do love to see you guys facind dilemmas, cycling, traveling, showing places... diversity is the best thing for me.
Wow what a ride , you need really good bike skills riding over there ! But looking forward to Singapore and South Korea videos . Also just curious what red bike light Thuang San uses ? Thanks
Suggestion for vids: Bike rides while traveling, while stopping once in a while for foods or tourist spots. Don't be afraid to ride the same roads to cover great travel spots or food places. Or separate them by segment 1) bike vlog# 2) travel vlog# 3) food vlog# 4) all-in ride vlog#
evening shots looks good... this the DJI likely, not the GoPro? there's weird flickering though while riding... you already switched to 50 to 25 fps (Vietnam on 50hz)?
Normally I would shoot in pro mode, but I haven't used this camera in a while so I just used auto. I will need to do some tests again to see what works best here.
My old county if you're looking for a great video area. Orange county California is nice but expensive. Loads of biking. But people drive recklessly. There's probably 20 cities a hundred different trails you could make videos from.
Even we are watching the current TH-cam video we can hear all the honks sound and heavy traffic. It is not as quiet as in Japan. Of coz we are so used to your Japan video too. Hope to see you all back in Japan.
My husband and I enjoy your bike rides primarily for the scenery. As an older couple we live vicariously through you two as if we were visiting that country and seeing all those wonderful sites. So if you need to keep TH-cam happy make it a travel video as seen from your bike. 😄
Hey :D I love the cycling videos most, but to be honest the latest videos make me nervous :D It's loud, chaotic and i really don't would ride a bike there :D You need to do what you two need to do ... We are here watching :D Hope everything works out for you guys!
It's the same reason I miss UK's when I got back to Singapore after staying there for 2 years. I can lie down on cooling grass patches in UK but I can't stay out at the sun for too long in Singapore. I feel fresh, and happy every day and miserable in Singapore just because of the weather.
Always enjoy all the video content you've made as long as about cycling, and maybe once in a while you can make a cycling trip video while camping.. 👍 for Thuong's santic, #tell her i like her lipstic color too, look fresh on her😅 #lol Owh, cant wait to see the Dalat cycling video, stay healthy and safe both of you..
Although the channel was started with the focus on cycling which you guys still do (cycling is your lifestyle obviously), you guys have done a great job mixing that with travel vlog style. You will attract people who resonate with your lifestyle, so far you are doing great: keep that format. I learned a lot through your channel beyond just cycling.
content suggestion: I am curious about what kind of diet is best for long haul cycling. Caloric intake and what kind of food are good for building endurance.
I've been living in Japan for a while, and have been finding myself missing Vietnam recently : ) I do realize though that I'll probably miss it here if I leave. I think it's definitely worth doing some country hopping if you guys get a chance. Especially at cyclists, Europe has a lot to offer.
The grass is always greener... That's a big reason we left, we wanted to be able to travel freely and not worry about maintaining visa residency in Japan.
@@TwoWheelCruise In the military there's a saying that the "best" place was your last place. Its easy to get caught up in the negatives of a current location and forget the reasons you left the previous. I think its good that you're going to give it a year before deciding.
Do add Malaysia as one of the locations to consider. There's quite a number of bicycle rental options in KL and some hotels do offer that for their guest too.
You have expressed Yourself very Honesty which shows Your Maturity! The lack of recent videos said even more! To remain TWC You have 2 choices! Move to a different environment in VN or start packing! For TWC to continue to be successful it needs to keep its focus on bicycling! Living in the Philippines I face All the issues You speak of, except the Heat! That's a problem! Now that Covid is low here and We don't have Curfews! I go out out at 10:30 PM and ride 60-90 minutes! Traffic is Very light at that time in this culture! I Sleep in through morning rush hour! @@TwoWheelCruise Thanks TWC! I've lived in the PI more than 20 years! After my 1st 2 years here I truly needed a break! I was in the US for a month! When I returned I started searching for ways to avoid as much as possible the things that were putting me on Edge!! Now there are still things that a person can't avoid but I'm still looking for answers! There are so many benefits here that fit my lifestyle and by avoiding the rest my life is Good! I hate to be Preachy but trust me on this! I watch All Yr Great Videos and it's clear to see there have been many recent purchases that can be like a trap! The more baggage that has to be sold, given away or packed up and moved is nothing but a headache and a trap to be avoided til You 2 are sure You've found Yr "spot"! Just sayin! Charly out!
Must be so hard for Thuong and her family to relate. She’s biking, speaks several languages and has a high expectation of cleanliness and order that generally seems foreign to Vietnam. I felt that way in China. loved the city of Shanghai as much as I was driven nuts by the lack of consideration for the general environment. Things have improved much in 20 years with a more contemporary youth who value similar things.
Japan is the most special place in my opinion. Especially if you like cycling. And South Korea is wonderful as well. But yeah the paperwork is more difficult to get. I came from California and been living in Spain, in the outskirts. Been here for several years now. But I tell you what, If I could, South Korea would be my 1st. Choice. I've seen other cyclist riding the routes there and it's paradise for a cyclist. Not to mention the fantastic food... Good luck with whatever you both decide on.
Hey brother how are you doing, it's always a joy to hear your perspective since you moved here to Việt Nam because you don't sugarcoat your experience like most of the other TH-camrs who come to Việt Nam etc. At any rate the air / noise pollution along with the bad traffic and the free for all driving without care, is very one of the main factors when it comes to most foreigners deciding whether to live in Việt Nam or move to a more safer environment like Japan / Korea... I myself are considering moving to Japan just to be honest and like you also have a 5yr marriage visa, I'm not sure if I want to go back to the US, so my wife can obtain her U.S passport or just move to Japan and limit our travels to certain countries that don't require much preparation of paperwork etc. But as far as the weather goes my friend since I've been living in Việt Nam specifically Đà Nẵng for the last almost 4yrs allow me to enlightenment you on the weather situation here in Việt Nam with the exception of Đà Lạt and a few other places that maintain cooler temperatures throughout the year, here in Đà Nẵng this is the norm 4 to 5 months of insanely hot / humid weather, which makes you sweat furiously day in and day out. But when it comes to a end you'll have to prepare yourself for the rainy season with multiple storms back to back with heavy rainfall, heavy chilly winds and flooding in the surrounding areas / Highlands and even here in Đà Nẵng, it starts around mid to late September leading into late December or February, it just depends... This is what most local will call the winter/ rainy season here in Đà Nẵng Việt Nam, so you and thuong need to prepare yourself for massive rainfall, power outages and flooding.
Thanks for the insight! We're planning on leaving during the rainy season since that does not look fun. It doesn't seem to be as bad in the North. For Japan, one good thing with getting the residence card is it opens up some more doors for travel. For example, Thuong could visit Taiwan without a visa she normally would need since she had a level 1 country residence. But getting some form of level 1 passport would be most ideal and unfortunately Japan requires you to give up your own first.
@@TwoWheelCruise Hey bud thanks for the reply, your video sparked a conversation between my wife and I, about seriously moving to Japan a year from now, to which she's very much open to due to safety, a peace of mind, a good education system, health and more since we have kids, plus it has always been a passion of mind to live in Japan one day, but I ended up here in Việt Nam first go figure 🤣 although I enjoy being here I also have to think about the future and what's best for my family and myself an Japan is a great place to be when it comes to raising kids and more. As far as going back to US just for the passport, after being gone for so long makes me cringe 😂 so no need I'm a American and will just maintain residency in Japan and my wife Nụ can become a Japanese citizen, to which she doesn't mind doing, it also will give her more access for traveling in time...etc Anyway you're right back to back storms for two months or longer with heavy rainfall and winds isn't fun, but at least it's much cooler than it is now, ⛈️☔😂 which in retrospect I'm looking forward to although rain sucks and despite the Seattle like weather with the day in & day out rain and gloom...with a sunbreak every now and again...🤣 But it is what it is, in terms of the weather here in Đà Nẵng or Việt Nam in general when it comes to the organized chaotic driving, which makes you think of the long-term value and safety of your life and health...etc Anyway be safe out there my friend and peace out....
Like I've mentioned before in some of yours and Thuong's videos, it's a free for all with driving and riding around there. lol Pretty much enjoy all your videos,Cruise. So whatever you bring out is good with me!
you know Taiwan is where you want to be.. it's a bicyclist heaven. not to mention all of those big brands bikes are made in Taiwan.. lots of business opportunities also a decent vietnamese community
Thoroughly enjoyed this video, good content. Aren't you just comparing Nagoya with DaNang, though? We look forward to your reports from the mountain towns in Vietnam, where I would expect it is quieter as well as cooler. (Can you rent a car for travel? Private and maybe healthier, with whatever's going around.) As for the U.S., wouldn't there be a Patreon who might hire Thuong? 😉 Plenty of Vietnamese along the U.S. gulf coast, btw. Get well soon! Cheers!
Yeah, our opinions about Japan are mostly based from Nagoya / Aichi / Chubu region. And for Vietnam Hanoi, Vinh, and Da Nang so far. But Aichi is actually the most dangerous part of Japan (in terms of traffic accidents anyway). We are very excited to explore the mountains in Vietnam though. They actually have mountain towns, unlike Japan where even near the mountains most people live in the valleys.
We like Thuong-chan riding in front. She improves the scenery. I hear you on walking in the street because of motorbikes parked on the sidewalk, it makes me crazy too. But that's not just Vietnam, it's most of SE Asia. And western US is crazy hot this year too, a good 10 degrees F above what it was in the 80s. Wherever you go, make sure you keep posting videos.
i enjoy ur non stop talking video, its quite entertaining. Do enjoy ur Japan and Thailand cycling videos as well especially using ur trifolds. Looking forward coming to Singapore for a ride and hopping around Singapore using MRT/Public Buses. Btw, you can also pay a visit to ur trifold sponsor too. Singaporean here. heehee.
I think traveling and cycling make for a great channel combination so I don't feel like you need to change anything if you don't want to. But if you do decide that making another channel is in your best interest I know I'll be subscribing to that as well. I have been really enjoying getting to see Vietnam from your perspective. It's fun to explore new locations with you and Vietnam is a country that didn't cross my mind much before your move. It sounds like you may be experiencing burnout with the cycling conditions (it looks so stressful riding on those main roads) and trying to decide what to do with your channel. Please remember to take care of yourself and do what is best for you and Thuong. To echo another commenter, follow your heart. I think that's where people are most likely to find happiness. EDIT: I'd also like to add I would totally watch silent biking videos if you're ever unsure of what to upload, whether you're on casual ride or training. I still use a lot of your biking videos when I am on my spin bike and it would be a great way to see more of Vietnam.
Bom assistir o seu canal. Gostei também dos seus filmes no Japão. Adora andar de bicicleta e espero que continue sempre a postar vídeos aqui e compartilhar conosco. Um abraço. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Really enjoy the mix of bike/travel/food in your videos, especially with a pretty lady by your side. You guys make a good couple, just continue to make it better. Nite out in town are also nice. Congrats on Thuong-chan on her reaching 100k subs, awesome 👌 👏
Hey thanks for the video, its always good to be able to travel without leaving my home. Don''t get me wrong, I do like to travel myself, but I have not been able to due to getting over a back injury. As for your comment on the sort of content ,I enjoy all your vids so keep on with the same themes thanks. Its good to see a bit of your normal life that you want to share with us as well as the cycling as it makes things a bit more real. Thanks once again to you both and I hope you have a great trip this coming week.
i knew this going back to Japan will happen. Once you lived in a country like Japan, things will never be the same. You are right, it is safe and peaceful. Japan is my first love but Korea will be in my heart forever!
I think Korea may be a good alternative and Thuong really wants to visit. We'll strongly consider it if we end up really liking it. I've been a few times and once for a cycling event which was really well done.
@@TwoWheelCruise Korea is peaceful in general. Food is great and there are clothes, shoes etc outlets that are really really cheap. In terms of technology they are considered in today's time the king of innovation!
@@missplainjane3905 I love both cpuntries. For me, I consider them a highly advance and developed countries. In a scale of 1-10 based on my understanding and what I have observed, I would give them 8 especially there is still a language barrier. I admire Koreans and Japanese in terms of their discipline. The only three words that I can think of is "I love both"!
hey Man, not commented for quite a while now, buy... you will love Singapore, so clean, safe and very western with the best street food anywhere in the world, Good cycling scene there too seems Bromptons are a big thing there too.
content suggestion: Perhaps a discusion with the both of you describing how travel has changed your attitudes and perspective with living abroad and speculating how they may have been different if you had stayed in your own countries.
Really enjoy your channel! You two are what make it interesting! Your personalities lifestyle and thoughts make the channel.. You are not one dimensional, Keep it as a variety, you are a cyclist, so do cycling, but mix in lifestyle themes, focus on day to day living in the different places , some tourist stuff, visa education is great.. Sharing your thoughts on lifestyle and how and where you want to live is very interesting. Im not a cyclist and enjoy the channel a lot! Thanks..
Does the DJI pocket 2 has a recording time limit? For insta360 one r/rs, when recording at certain settings, it will stop recording at 30min and auto start recording again.
I think that’s do to memory limitations. Usually 4gb per section. So you can’t answer that without knowing which resolution and which fps is being used.
Love your channel. Watching the TDF before work right now. That's a tough question youtubers have about how to format their channel. In the end we influencers know the consumers (subscribers and viewers) vote with their views. I think you probably have a compelling story as a young couple who are intelligent and athletic live their lives like your are showing in your present form. Good luck.
great video! Nice to see you riding at night. Regarding not wanting to go outside: "Maybe that will change when the weather gets cooler". The question is WILL the weather get cooler? Isn't Vietnam inside the tropics? Isn't it always hot and humid there? I wish you the best regarding your decisions about your future. Those big decisions are the tough ones. Good luck with it!
Thanks! It was much cooler when we first arrived here. I think it's only crazy hot from May to September. The winter months are cooler depending on where you are in the country.
Had you never moved to Vietnam, you'd have regretted it, and Thuong-chan may have resented it. But now you have, and now you know. This was a necessary step, and so very important to long-term happiness. Well done.
Thank you! No regret, but definitely a necessary learning experience to figure out what we both really want.
Well said, I know this is advice for the Cruise, but is also true for all of us. I lived in other European country for last 8 years and recently moved. I find your comment so helpful. Thank you.
@@mr.z2618 Thank you.
Cruise, I love any type of videos you guys make. Don’t change your format, just go with the flow. Follow your heart.
Thank you!
I'll second that.
I third that! 😄 All your videos are enjoyable.
I fourth that.
Fifth :)
I told you! Whenever you leave Japan, you realize how awesome it actually it is. :) 22 years and no plans to ever leave. Japan is the BEST base and travel to all the other Asian countries. Asia has it all :)
It’s amazing what leaving for a while makes you realize
Going and experiencing real crazy Asia makes everyone miss Japan, even with all its faults, oddities, endless bureaucracy, rules, and elitist, racist complex.
@@TwoWheelCruise yup i did it once. Moved back to canada for 8 months in 2003. It was a mistake and lesson learned. No need to force what place loves you.
Yes, they are not getting any younger. So much more to see and do in Asia. The US has become very expensive and dangerous. Settle down and have happy life.
I lived in Japan for 5 months, wayyy too boring, felt like a soulless place, night life is awesome though. And still love to visit. 🙂
I've been following the channel for a long time. I really like that the content is varied, cycling, travel, food, the big and small things in life.
Greetings from Hungary :)
Thank you! 😃
For me the best thing for you both is go to the us for thoung’s citizenship and then start your travel hassle free from visa applications and then settle back to japan
Thanks! I think this is the smartest move
I hear a lot of people from the military who do service in Japan end up coming back.
Are you in Okinawa?
I admire your courage and how you feel free to move from one country to another while we dont even try to move to Korea
It becomes easier the more you live abroad, but it is a struggle to find the "forever home"
@@TwoWheelCruise You're closing in, though. 👍
Thank you so much! We're really happy to hear that and yes, YT is a strange place 🙃
I'm not surprised after she said that in the previous video the only good thing apart from family was the food. I've had friends say they really miss living in Japan so you're not alone. I love all your videos regardless of content.
Thank you! 😁 I was surprised when she didn't say anything else then haha
I agree too Japan is the best in Asia especially for cyclists, clean, weather, shopping, safe, good food, quiet, onsen, polite people….. I love Japan!
Don’t try Malaysia which not much different to Vietnam 😭 I want to move to Japan too
I live vicariously through you two. Just film what you want, you can’t please everybody anyway. Cheers!
Thank you!
YES, the Japanese countryside is beautiful!
Thanks! Once you learn to read the craziness, it's not so bad. But the people who randomly enter the road are a mini heart attack.
Don't change your format guys, been watching you for years and the mix is what makes it fun. Hope you settle in Japan but I know the visa situation is tough.
Thank you!
I personally like the combination of both, cycling and traveling videos. Enjoy all your videos, Thuongʻs walking videos are enjoyable too.
Thank you!
Lived in Kawagoe Japan for many years, back in England now .Do miss Japan a lot at times.
Whatever you guys decide I wish the best for you both! 😍😍😍
Thank you!
Thank you so much 😁
It's frustrating that they don't treat the channel the same if you have a variety of videos. It's one of the things I love about your channel!
Engagement rate is really important now, so if people only watch certain themed videos and not others it can really hurt a channel 😑
And I thought Thailand roads are crazy, Vietnam is another level!
I'm really miss your times in Thailand already🥲
Yeah, Thailand's roads are considerably safer. Especially Chiang Mai.
Thanks! I really miss that old commute ❤️
I would say, Japan fits most your biking since Japan has much modern roads. You can do riding the whole of Japan for more content! keep up!!
Thanks! Biking in Japan is pretty awesome!
as a cyclist that's no surprise honestly, the standard of living is much higher in japan as well
Cruz, a buddy and me just got back from Korea. The cycling scene is off the hook! We did the cycling passport tour. It is so awesome. Hope Thoung can get the visa in order to visit.
Yeah, the cycling scene there is really nice.
Thank you! Yeah, a place with a good Asian community sounds nice!
Thanks and enjoy Japan!
Come back to Japan, I am currently living in Chiba and man I like it here a lot. So quiet and I love biking here it is so peaceful.
Thanks for explaining the internal conflict - I/we understand. Always look forward to seeing new content from you two.
Thanks for listening to our struggles 😅
Aloha from Maui! If you decide on The US, I would definitely say Hawaii. It's very easy to travel back and forth to Japan. And thanks again for all your work and great videos.
I agree Hawaii is half way between Asia and the US. Plus it’s tropical beautiful, food is great, people are friendly not angry like the mainland, Japanese is spoken everywhere.
Thanks! I've heard there is a lot of Japanese influence there and I really want to go visit sometime.
Thank you so much 😁
My opinion on this opinion:
Positives on moving back to Japan:
- You already know the language;
- Already have experience living there;
- Safer traffic;
- Less pollution;
- Less hot days compared to Vietnam;
- Social security system is better;
- Healthcare is better;
- Food is delicious;
- Public transportation;
- Japan has a wide arrangement of terrain for cycling;
- Safer overall environment;
- Good safe place for raising kids (for the future);
Negatives of moving back to Japan:
- Cultural differences in jobs can be quite stressful if wanting to build a career here;
- Rent can be expensive for what you get;
- Paperwork is never ending;
- Life is expensive (especially when having a lot of friends who have their weddings hahaha);
Pretty accurate though the biggest negatives for me are unequal rights for permanent residents and no dual citizenship.
Love watching your channel, I'd watch no matter what country you guys live in, but do hope you go back to Japan
Thank you! Safety and stability with a good lifestyle are the priorities now.
@@TwoWheelCruise I rather you stay in Japan than in USA. USA is a hellhole now compared to Japan.
Thank you! I want to do more bike packing stuff, but it's just too hot here now. I used to live off of the Katy Trail which was a a lot of fun 😃
I watch all of it...I tell Everyone about your channel...Just the idea of traveling and biking is so dope to me...I wish you both well on all your travels and plans...stay unique.
Thank you so much!
Thanks! Yeah I think it's too hot here in summer, but maybe OK in winter.
My bet is that eventually. Team TWC will settle in Japan.. it's definitely a place to have a family too..
There is a pretty high chance. Probably the best environment for raising kids.
Thank you!
Nice couple and awesome video from both of you
Thank you so much 😁
I know you guys have a bit of wanderlust and want to travel as much as possible but knowing you as much as I have from watching your videos plus my own personal experience with living in different places, I feel confident in saying that once a place feels like "home," it needs to become your permanent home. Put down some long-term goals that can only be, or best be accomplished in your "home." Either way i hope we get to go along for the ride with you so we can cheer you on. much love. be safe, have fun and I'll see you in the next one.
Thank you! We are trying to explore different areas while we can and hopefully after that we can decide on our "permanent home".
Its crazy out there on the streets. Like Thoung bike kit. Thanks for sharing you two...🎥😎👍👌👊🚴♂️🚴♀️🙏❤️❤️
Thank you!
Exactly, it's great as a holiday but tough to live long term unless you can accept those things.
Great video, lots of interesting topics.
Cheers!
I watched this video at 2x and it was one of the most frightening things I’ve seen you do. Stay safe out there!
That's why I don't add much music, so it's easier to listen to story videos at double speed. I bet the video looks scary though haha.
In your hearts, you guys have already decided to go back to Japan and I am sure that most of us that have spent time there would say in unison - Good call! Home is where the heart is...Happy for you guys.
Thank you! Yes our hearts our set on Japan and my brain is set on USA and my wallet is set on Vietnam 😂
discovered your channel months ago where I just started cycling. your videos are pretty chill and gives me confidence riding on public roads. lol
Thanks and glad our videos help!
Would be cool to set up something international.
☝️👍
Japan is indeed very calming.. i hope i can live there too someday 😭😭 just like all the animes i have watched hahah
Some parts are just like anime. Many are not haha
Thank you!
Wow what a ride , you need really good bike skills riding over there ! But looking forward to Singapore and South Korea videos . Also just curious what red bike light Thuang San uses ? Thanks
We're excited for these trips too! This light is an old Cateye I think.
Thanks for your suggestions!
evening shots looks good... this the DJI likely, not the GoPro? there's weird flickering though while riding... you already switched to 50 to 25 fps (Vietnam on 50hz)?
Normally I would shoot in pro mode, but I haven't used this camera in a while so I just used auto. I will need to do some tests again to see what works best here.
My old county if you're looking for a great video area. Orange county California is nice but expensive. Loads of biking. But people drive recklessly. There's probably 20 cities a hundred different trails you could make videos from.
Even we are watching the current TH-cam video we can hear all the honks sound and heavy traffic. It is not as quiet as in Japan. Of coz we are so used to your Japan video too. Hope to see you all back in Japan.
It's hard to find quiet roads here 😂
My husband and I enjoy your bike rides primarily for the scenery. As an older couple we live vicariously through you two as if we were visiting that country and seeing all those wonderful sites. So if you need to keep TH-cam happy make it a travel video as seen from your bike. 😄
Thank you Trish!
23:50, yeah we got like that same situation here in the Philippines.
Hey :D
I love the cycling videos most, but to be honest the latest videos make me nervous :D
It's loud, chaotic and i really don't would ride a bike there :D
You need to do what you two need to do ... We are here watching :D
Hope everything works out for you guys!
Thank you! This is one of the "safer" more popular roads 😂
holy moly that camera is really good
Yeah, great night performance
I miss Japan too, man.
It's the same reason I miss UK's when I got back to Singapore after staying there for 2 years. I can lie down on cooling grass patches in UK but I can't stay out at the sun for too long in Singapore. I feel fresh, and happy every day and miserable in Singapore just because of the weather.
I really missed lawns and grass in general for my first few years in Japan
Always enjoy all the video content you've made as long as about cycling, and maybe once in a while you can make a cycling trip video while camping..
👍 for Thuong's santic, #tell her i like her lipstic color too, look fresh on her😅 #lol
Owh, cant wait to see the Dalat cycling video, stay healthy and safe both of you..
Thank you!
content suggestion: I am curious about what kind of diet is best for long haul cycling. Caloric intake and what kind of food are good for building endurance.
I was thinking about making a video about that.
Carb load
Beautiful ride and I am interested in both cycling and international travel videoes
Thanks!
Do add Malaysia as one of the locations to consider. There's quite a number of bicycle rental options in KL and some hotels do offer that for their guest too.
Yes, we want to go there too! Good to know they have rental options.
Love that you include the country flags in the thumbnail of the video.
Thanks! I need to do this more I think

Things have improved much in 20 years with a more contemporary youth who value similar things.
the video you have made while you were in Singapore is great because I like traveling and cycling
Yeah, Korea is pretty awesome for food and cycling :)
@@TwoWheelCruise
Hey bud thanks for the reply, your video sparked a conversation between my wife and I, about seriously moving to Japan a year from now, to which she's very much open to due to safety, a peace of mind, a good education system, health and more since we have kids, plus it has always been a passion of mind to live in Japan one day, but I ended up here in Việt Nam first go figure 🤣 although I enjoy being here I also have to think about the future and what's best for my family and myself an Japan is a great place to be when it comes to raising kids and more.
As far as going back to US just for the passport, after being gone for so long makes me cringe 😂 so no need I'm a American and will just maintain residency in Japan and my wife Nụ can become a Japanese citizen, to which she doesn't mind doing, it also will give her more access for traveling in time...etc
Anyway you're right back to back storms for two months or longer with heavy rainfall and winds isn't fun, but at least it's much cooler than it is now, ⛈️☔😂 which in retrospect I'm looking forward to although rain sucks and despite the Seattle like weather with the day in & day out rain and gloom...with a sunbreak every now and again...🤣 But it is what it is, in terms of the weather here in Đà Nẵng or Việt Nam in general when it comes to the organized chaotic driving, which makes you think of the long-term value and safety of your life and health...etc
Anyway be safe out there my friend and peace out....
Like I've mentioned before in some of yours and Thuong's videos, it's a free for all with driving and riding around there. lol Pretty much enjoy all your videos,Cruise. So whatever you bring out is good with me!
Thank you!
DJI quality is amazing for night rides. I enjoy the travel and cycling topics and enjoy watching all your videos whenever you upload them.
Thank you!
you know Taiwan is where you want to be.. it's a bicyclist heaven. not to mention all of those big brands bikes are made in Taiwan.. lots of business opportunities also a decent vietnamese community
YES, it's been in my top choices list for a while
Ohhhh!!!! A NIGHT RIDE!!!! FINALLY!!!!!
Omatase!
@@TwoWheelCruise busting out the romanji!!!
Thank you!
i enjoy ur non stop talking video, its quite entertaining. Do enjoy ur Japan and Thailand cycling videos as well especially using ur trifolds. Looking forward coming to Singapore for a ride and hopping around Singapore using MRT/Public Buses. Btw, you can also pay a visit to ur trifold sponsor too. Singaporean here. heehee.
Thank you! It would be cool if we can work something out with Mobot for our trip.
Um abraço. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I like a mix of content.
Really enjoy the mix of bike/travel/food in your videos, especially with a pretty lady by your side. You guys make a good couple, just continue to make it better. Nite out in town are also nice. Congrats on Thuong-chan on her reaching 100k subs, awesome 👌 👏
Thank you! She won the race 👑
Thank you!
i knew this going back to Japan will happen.
@@missplainjane3905 Yes i've been
@@missplainjane3905 I love both cpuntries.
Thank you! We're excited to go :)
content suggestion: Perhaps a discusion with the both of you describing how travel has changed your attitudes and perspective with living abroad and speculating how they may have been different if you had stayed in your own countries.
Thanks! This is an interesting idea.
Thanks..
Thank you! It's interesting to hear non-cyclists watch our channel 😃
Does the DJI pocket 2 has a recording time limit? For insta360 one r/rs, when recording at certain settings, it will stop recording at 30min and auto start recording again.
Yes it does, I don't remember exactly when it starts a new clip. The default audio clips a little, but not a problem since we use external mics.
Good luck.
Thank you! Killer TDF this year.
I enjoy the content of your channel as is, so, keep on cruising.
Thanks!
great video!
I hope one day you will find some where to settle down and be happy , perhaps a cooler climate will be the key.
When in Japan, Thuong wanted to live in a place with a warmer winter. Now in Vietnam, she wants a cooler climate haha.
I watch your content because you’re cycling through the cities and explaining the lifestyle there. Follow your passion (topic).
Thank you!
