I believe you got the whole thing wrong. Social life and Economic life in US is not always positive. Abortion is a choice by a woman who take it painfully, unnecessary child birth may increase more orphans as they will be treated as unnecessary. Discipline is a good thing to talk about, but even a happy married couple ask for abortion due to economic reasons.

Especially since banning abortion primarily affects the poor who are also statistically dominant with regards to mental issues, alcoholisme, domestic abuse etc.

Where do you draw the lines between these stages?
You cannot be old if you weren't a zygote first, a live with a soul organism that have all the information to develop into a human. It's not jus a "bunch" of cells, it's already alive and full of energy. It is a different entity than the mother. There are 2 distinct souls.

I haven't married yet. But if a scenario occurs where health and life of my wife is at stake of having a baby, I wouldn't think of anything other than my wife. Life of mother is more important than the baby that may or may not survive.

My question is if a couple, a woman wants abortion and people force her to give birth , how well do you think she is going to turn out into a good mother ? The chances are 50-50 . I am Albanian and I am extremely proud that Albania is one of the few countries in the world where abortion is a woman's choice. The woman is completely free to choose whether to abort or not, without having to give further explanations.

Thank you for speaking about this. Over the years, as an OR nurse, I have tried to give extra support to those having an abortion as I knew the pressures they were under from the soul searching needed to take that step and the condemnation of family members and others was considerable. For those who think this act is murder, you really need to focus on trying to stop the stupidity of war. The Catholic Church is no saint that deserves followers on this issue or any other.

I’m not religious. I believe in morals. What’s morally right and what’s morally wrong. I understand why people want abortions. I get it. Having an unplanned baby is inconvenient. We live in a society we’re people don’t want to be held accountable for their actions. It’s the easy way out. I truly believe abortion is morally wrong. If someone does not want a baby then they need to be smarter with how they do their bedroom fun. I understand that people can still get pregnant when using contraceptives, but that’s a risk of having bedroom fun. I believe if you are not in a position to have kids or want kids, then you shouldn’t have bedroom fun. drinking while driving is a risky behavior and if you get caught, you suffer the consequences. Having sex can be a risky behavior, and if you get pregnant then the father and mother are responsible for that life. I don’t expect to get people to agree with me, but I just want to offer a different perspective.

1. Shows no indication of even intending to help its host.

Idiots don't understand the downsides of an unwanted pregnancy. A woman has to go through so much pain to give birth and later on she has to spend her next few years looking after the baby. She has so many things to lose and if her family is financially unstable, they will keep on suffering for years until their child becomes independent. Because it is preventable by mental therapy, and it has negative consequences on the mentality of the society, and more importantly it directly affects the relatives of the deceased.
There are situations of under develop fetus or some genetic prob detected early ...in such a situation it's a matter of life long struggle and the choice is very very important... we need to acknowledge the fact that women body is just not for child bearing but it's for all other purposes and importance.
In these matters, abortion is given as an option.
I believe that all women deserve the right to choose for themselves what they should do with their bodies. If a woman decides to murder a child, it is okay. After all, her body, her choice. It`s a lot easier to murder another person than to deal with the consequences of your actions, or in the rare case of rape, to deal with the process of pregnancy and giving birth. How weak as a society have we come, where we would rather murder children, than simply deal with the hardships life throws at us? I worked with a catholic nurse, and I asked how she copes with working with women who have termination and she replied I don't work with the woman before hand as it goes against my beliefs but afterwards my job is to give this lady the best health care available to her from me and support her recovery, so that's a good moral choice I guess

I think more responsible and inclusive laws are needed to address possible major harmful situation that might arise in a pregnant woman's life. That will eliminate the question of having a choice of what she wants to do.

True. The lump of cells before 24 weeks doesn't have any consciousness to give consent. Human consciousness never existed in that featus before 24 weeks.
After 24 weeks, bare minimum viable body is ready enough to host a bummer consciousness and thus can be referred as baby. Until then it is just a lump of cells. It doesn't have life of it's own.

Women donot abort a child for fun there are psychological sensibilities attached to this topic and I have seen people going through this being a doctor .... most of the religious fanatics are waiting to misuse your genuine sensibilities to oppress women. The problem is not the disgreement between two conflicting values. The actual problem starts when people tries choose a side between two values as if choosing a side is the only option left. So, being Pro-Life or Pro-choice only makes the complex more complicated and worse. Golden path concept seems a myth nowadays

I think it is a bit more complicated than that. In law if you murder a pregnant woman you are charged with taking 2 lives. If you legitimise abortion this conflicts with that law. There is also the issue of where is the father's right to have a say in the abortion?
Father’s do have the right to say what they want with a abortion but ultimately it’s the mother’s body that will carry the child ( if she goes through with the pregnancy) so the final say should be hers, however she should take the father’s opinion into account, if the mother doesn’t want a abortion but the father does I believe he should be able to leave and opt out of child support before the baby is born, if the mother wants a abortion and the father doesn’t then unfortunately for him he has to respect that choice because ultimately it’s her body.

Mexican here, we do have legal and state covered abortion for pregnant women up to 12 weeks and not only in pregnancies caused by rape or by life risk pregnancies.

We have so many children in orphanages, not even able to live a proper life, unemployed people because of overpopulation, so many poor families who can't afford 3 meals per day but we give more importance to fetuses that are fully dependant on the host. Do we only care about "human life" before its birth? Where is the support and respect after its born? We as a society decide to shun any person who is different than the majority of the population, just look at people from different classes, religion, castes, gender, or sexual orientation. So many dehumanised on a daily but if its a fetus then "omg how can you do that to a human life".
