Informative and refreshing to see an experienced angler actually enacting the process of changing fly colour, varying retrieve and 'working' the water column. Lots of videos talk a good game, show the angler doing something different to what they said they would then just cut to all the takes and landing fish. Nice video!
Thank you for this great video. it’s a technique I have never used before , been fishing for The last few days and tired all my usual ways never caught anything apart from when I used this method 🙂 , also good to know even the pros decorate the trees 😆
Really enjoy your video’s Steve keep em coming, are you allowed to say the name of the fishery, nice to see it’s not just us amateurs that catch a tree trout every now and then. 😂
Great learning video. Used a sinktip on my local water to great success where others weren’t catching. Could you provide details on the blob box you use if possible. As I like the idea of that box but can’t seem to locate one. Thanks in advance. Drew
I watched this waiting to see fishing the drop. Pick a few tips. Must have mist it. When ever I fish the drop its with a weighted fly. Cast out, tighten up, let drop and one or two pulls in. Recast. I do this to cover a lot of water fast. Not a method for this time of year, unless you are in a heavily stocked water.

Thanks Steve. Great video, clear and informative 👍
Looks a lovely lake Steve. Where is it, if it's ok to tell?
Good to see tenkara in action
Good vid mate. Please, where did you get those flip down magnifying lenses on your cap? I’m getting to be blind as a bat.

Would you use a loop knot on the blob/egg fly?
Are your blobs weighted in this video? And what box are you using to store your blobs please?
Would you use a floating line for this, or a sinktip ?
Are blobs weighted? What setup are you using, gear wise? Rod length, WF, sinking?
no pal, but I do use them under the bung weighted, any line from di5 to a floater!
Just found our channel Steve, such an informative video, what rod are you using? It seems very responsive.
Tight lines @Grandpa Chris R
superb pal
Hello Steve, what kind of flyline do you use? Great video!
hi buddy, a slow intermediate is best for this style
What material is it, it looks very mobile
Do you ever fish that method with two blobs, different colours?
no buddy, but on large waters i do
Not sure that’s fishing on the drop I would expect no retrieve as the fly falls through the water column not a medium paced fig 8
hi buddy, you see on the 2nd fish totally on the drop

You’d probably cast more proficiently if you didn’t try to slam your last presentation cast down to the water, Steve.
doesn't affect my catch rate!
Ouch😂
Good video Steve 👍 What slow intermediate is that?
slow glass airflo
