Saw this video a few days back and have tried the retrieve method and locking the line each time with your finger. It has totally transformed my catch rate these last few days! Brilliant info.......Thanks
Hi Steve, another great vid with a phenomenal method. I remember this being spoken about and then seeing a video of Peter Appleby fishing this way on Rutland. Anyway I’ll give it a go on Menteith tomorrow. What brand is the sunburst fritz, its a unique shade certainly. Cheers
👋 Steve. I was wondering 🤔 have I missed or has the draw been done for fly box. Another great 👍 vid. I myself have been tying up a range of coloured blobs, fabs, also cormorants and apps and spiders. I'm a keen novice tyer. I'm getting better..
Would you use a di3 for top 3 feet of water mate with this style of pulling? Presume by pulling in a foot or more at a time it will stop the sink rate so okay for higher up also?
Steve it looks like you are retrieving as soon as you have cast out, so the blob hasn't sunk much...as such, what is the point of using the different lines, or, on some occasioned you counting down then retrieving?
@@stevecullenflyfishingflyty7729 Hi Steve , what you explained in the reply is what is seen at the beginning of the video ? (Great vids , I’m learning a lot from your channel , thank you)
@@stevecullenflyfishingflyty7729 Aye, looking at alternatives now mate, had a look at the stillmaniac in Glasgow Angling centre, colours are to off putting for me personally. As a Glasgow Celtic man there's nae chance i'm kicking about with bright orange and blue gear lol.
You clearly do not have a clue what you are talking about. The term “loch style” means fishing from a drifting boat with the wind at your back. This is exactly what Steve is doing. In future do a fact check before making a critical comment.
1st class video Steve, listening to you reminds me of my time in Aberdeen.
Excellent video great tips👌

Great indepth video, the blob you use is it weighted, gid fishing well done.
line weight for single blob pal, although weighted on small waters works a charm

I only use a di5 forty plus or a rio 3 to 5 sweep
Brilliant video Steve. At approximately what depth do you reckon the fish were taking at, and roughly what was the water temperature. Many thanks.
water temp would have been below 10c, I was taking fish as the last 10 to 5 yards were coming in, so I reckon, 6 to 8ft

hi pal, on that day it was straight away, but at times it gets up to 20 seconds drop time
@@stevecullenflyfishingflyty7729 many thanks Steve.
Steve can you show us how to connect a leader to fly line without braided loop please?
I’m thinking of dry fly leader.
strip the coating, create a loop in the core and bind down with thread then superglue pal

Where did you get your blob box please

What size hooks for your blobs 10 or 12?

@@stevecullenflyfishingflyty7729 thanks i have 10&12 barbless from blob n buzzer.
Back to fight another what? Lol
Pulling a single blob is not Loch Style. Goes without saying fish however you like and enjoy it but its not Loch Style.

@@robertgibson6140 I've been fishing loch style for nearly 40 years.
Robert, there are a lot of things you could do with the wind on your back drifting in a boat but it wouldn't make them loch style.
me too and I get what you're saying, it's not conventional team of three, pull and pause but same principle but with one fly?
