Working through this with my Osmose I noticed in The Magical Bow patch you inadvertently repeated the Macros settings rather than the changed analog echo settings. Any chance you could post the correct settings in a reply ... thx
Excellent to see how you are tweaking the delivered Osmose patches. It really is a wondrous synth as well as being a versatile MPE, poly aftertouch, multi-out and general MIDI controller. I am so glad I invested…
@@arcticfoxstudios2018 I so agree. I hope that Osmose will continue to work on the integration with the Haken editor to make it much more user friendly, as well.
It's a totally different thing. Some of the eastern instruments that they have programmed are fantastic to play because they do things like programming fret noise into aftertouch or allow you to achieve a bowed sound by pressing the keys slowly vs a plucked sound by hitting them quickly. It's super intuitive also, so you just play the keyboard how you think it should be played and different articulations just come out.
@@arcticfoxstudios2018 Yes - the intuitive feel is what I experienced playing it at NAMM, and I can tell you are feeling that. The advantage of running the sound engine on board also gives it an immediacy and access to full resolution data of all the control data, more than is typically available with MIDI/MPE (especially resolution wise). I'd be curious to know how many of those expressions can be transmitted in MPE mode - whilst there is polyphonic bending and aftertouch specified in MPE, it would not be difficult for a plugin to capture multiple other MIDI cc controllers (for extra info like release velocity) on a per-channel/note basis if that were possible to be enabled. For things like rapid vertical position modulation - it would not be too hard to use at that as a trigger mechanism when a speed threshold is reached for that movement (so long as it's coded into a plugin)... this is why I'd like to get one of these to experiment with Hyperion.
Hey man, thanks for the tips. Is it just me or the volume of the osmose is generally low? And if you add more gain it adds noise? Have you noticed this?
Glad you liked the tips. I have not noticed the noise. I'll have to check that out to see what kind of noise floor it has. The volume does seem a little on the low side, but the compression can improve it quite a bit, although like you said, that will increase any noise.

Good catch anacrus. The correct values are:
mix: 90
noise: 27
offset: 64
feedback: 36
time: 98
extend: on
@@arcticfoxstudios2018 thanks for that...
Thanks for the video! Just got my osmose last week, and excited to dive more into tweaking patches. This has some great tips!
Glad you liked it. The Osmose is pretty awesome.

Yeah, it definitely opens up a lot of performance possibilities.
It is a very good investment. No doubt about it!
Thank you very much for the very instructive video. I am looking forward to your new video.
I wish you all the best.
You're welcome. Glad you liked it.
Very nice patch tweaks and playing tips. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to your future videos.
Thanks Bubble. The Osmose is a pretty engaging instrument and some of the patches really sound incredible.

The recent Firmware v 2.0 explanatory video hinted it is coming soon…
thanks, this is pure gold!
Glad you like it!
Really need to get my hands on one of these to make a patch set.

Investing in Expressive E’s Noisy 2 synth showcases the ideas you are expressing, as do their sound expansions for Falcon and Phase Plant…
