    I love this hands-on video! So many people need that little bit of extra help, and this is a way of showing how to make changes in person.

      Yes, and this was only a 30-minute session. Relatively fast fixes here, but I would like to address the brace more thoroughly next time.

    I love your videos! You are a tremendous teacher. I have been playing disc golf for about 3-4 years. In that time, I can’t remember a time where I heard actual “snap” while throwing. I went out to the field today and heard real snap on 75% of my stand still throws! The disc was flying out of my hand and flying smooth through the air. It was so cool! Thank thank thank you for this incredible video and lesson. I cannot wait to get back out and practice

    • @happyboyeeeee
      @happyboyeeeee 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Just an FYI, the audible snap is not what you are looking for. Back in the day, snap was a hot topic, but it was misrepresented by many as that audible snapping sound. That sound is not necessarily bad, but it’s arguably not great either. The only sound you’re looking to hear is the whoosh of the disc, and if you don’t hear that then something is wrong, but hearing it doesn’t mean everything is right either.
      More on the history of what is known as snap. The real snap was referring to point of tendon bounce at the hit. It’s what happens when you’re doing everything correctly, and isn’t a sound or really anything that’s aimed for. It just happens. There’s a couple old videos describing snap, but in none of those do they describe the sound or highlight anything to do with the snapping sound. Many years have passed since then, and far too many videos referencing the snapping noise. Until recently, a few videos and other discussion has been released describing what I’m trying to say here. Some discussion points out the audible snapping sound as being very bad, and accounting for distance loss versus gain.
      I’m not on either side of the audible snap sound. I’ve not seen enough evidence to argue if it’s good or bad. I will leave you with this though. Having been around and very close to many pros throwing short and long shots, some have an audible snap on release while others don’t. Those that do have an audible sound are typically long 500+ foot drives with some late release, which is common for those players. Paul McBeth is a good example here. Regardless of there being some snap sound or not, every pro’s shot had a very audible whoosh that could be heard over 100 feet away regardless of it being a short or long shot.

    What do you mean by pushing down?
    Is that pushing on the foot trying to straighten the leg or collaps over the foot?

    • @dgspindoctor
      @dgspindoctor  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Collapse your body over the leg. If you push up, you do it too early. Go down.

    Was stuck here forever. Recently really getting it, SUPER helpful to see you work him through the mechanic of bending that arm in (out and in).
    James Conrad is a good one to watch, he peaks reach back very early, and you can very clearly see his timing of when he bends in relative to his rotation.

    For the stance, do you want to kind of be in a football type stance? Or similar athetlic stance? I realize I've been pulling with only my arm and am trying to involve my body now
