You can find "out of date" legends cars dirt cheap. They will have the old spec motor. yamaha 1250, air cooled, older model shocks, rear gear etc.@@TheSmokingTire

1:30 those little guys in the back ground are the Bandelero series cars! They have a 30hp Briggs motor and they are for kid drivers ages 7-12! It's a really cool series to get younger people into racing.
Some of the kids are doing great in them I remember one of Kyle Busch kids was driving one
Used ones are for sale all over the place in nascar country for $5-10k usually with a bunch of spare parts, depending how fresh and up to date they are. Know of several that get used for road course track days and SCCA hill climb. Fun fact: the only thing to convert it from oval spec to road is alignment and maybe spring rates, there are no left turn specific parts.
I just picked one up for SCCA last night. I paid $15k for a 2022 chassis with the FZ motor tho haha

They run the same chassis with a modern body at a lot of the same tracks as the Super Cars.

In Australia they have cars like Legends but with sorta Aussie Supercar bodies. They look cartoony.

I purchased one 4 months ago to race at Irwindale speedway. Most fun you can have for the price. Picked up my car for 13k. They also run on 91 octane, race entry is $50.

LOL! I got a bunch of runs in a Legends car a few years ago at a Public display event. Almost no one else showed up! Though I’m the size of Matt, we had to yank the seat so I could fit, sitting on the floor. Great fun!

There's a class called Pro Challenge with similar chassis, but NASCAR -style bodies. Oh, and ZX14 engines. I almost bought one for a drift missile a few years back.

With such a lightweight car, Zack needs ballast to match your weight.

Dude... don't say that. I used to run a Legends car, short ovals. You're not going too terribly fast... been in some wrecks and none were too bad. I think safer than running around a road course in a miata

Even golf gloves help. You don't want your hands to slip _at all_ on the wheel, especially on a road course and when shifting.
I hired off the record to take care of a ticket in may of 2023. The lawyer assigned to my case ignored the ticket and court dates. I ended up getting a point and that point is now going to cost me $800 a year from my insurance. Stop recommending them.

This is a spec series aimed for those that want affordable oval track racing, or potentially use it as a stepping stone for NASCAR. Very unlikely anyone with those kind of goals would be turned down by the body style alone lol.

I dont understand the hate. If you guys only want the opinion you agree with than do that. TST have earned the right to criticize othe journalists and car brands. In doing so they give a multi sided and objective review so that we as consumers can make a dissision with all variables available to consider.
I totally agree and think that most of Matt’s points were valid. I agree that the criticism may have been carried out in the wrong manner but that could’ve been remedied fairly easy

It's not hard to accomplish, given you're ok with doing a bit of wiring.
People have converted them, probably depends on your state.
You'd be better off spending that $20k elsewhere if your goal is a fun street toy though.
