The spyderco endura/endela lockbacks are one of the few folders that I can open and close with a single gloved hand. Very handy when working on the farm.
Love the video! Last October I actually purchased my first firearm. I bought it based on one of your reviews. It’s the Girsan MC 1911 in 9mm. You said “I’d feel confidently armed with this…” That was all I needed to be confident in it. I’ve carried it almost daily ever since it arrived and I love it! I either carry it with an Alien Gear cloak holster at a 4 or 5’o’clock or in a shoulder holster rig from Falco holsters.
I have a Girsan 1911 too. One of my favorites. Nothing fancy or expensive, but it throws 45 in the right direction. Haven’t had a single issue with it for 3 to 4 years, since I got it.
@@erics2091 Nice! I’ve also noticed very little to no issues with mine so far. I honestly think the only single malfunction I’ve had was because of a limp wrist while shooting. It’s truly an amazing platform!
Great vid as always. I've carried an Endura 4 for edc and self defense for well over 10 years. Also carry a Recon 1 as a backup and for hard use if needed. Good to see Enduras are still appreciated.
Changing out your carry ammunition every 3 months is a little extreme , most police departments will issue new carry ammo every 12 months and today’s ammunition will last for many many years without any issues just thought I would mention .
You are the reason I bought the sheild plus because of the reviews the fact we are both taller slim guys and you are also the reason I sold my sheild plus and bought the performance center version
More knife videos would be awesome! Your honest and unbiased opinion on the quality, usability, and price of fixed blades and folding knives would definitely be appreciated.
Chris when you get the opportunity please do a partial video. On concealed carry liability insurance and what company you would recommend thanks so much as always
My daily carry knives are a fixed blade from Hoffman Richter and a lighter and thinner fixed blade made by cold steel. For a EDC pistol I alternate between my Glock 48, my H&K vp9, and my Ruger SR 1911 light frame. Definitely important to have both a gun and a knife on you as well as extra ammo in backup mags.
My EDC is the CZ75 2075 RAMI and my SigP365. Both are in my rotation. Both no red dots. As always Chris, awesome video! God Speed on your recovery too! KEEP ON ROCKING
I've been watching your videos for about 3 years. Definitely trust your reviews. Actually, when I consider a purchase, I'll check yours and a few other tubers reviews first. 👍
I use the Mag Guts +3 on the 10 rounders. Gives a pinky ledge while not giving extra length in the back like the OEM 13 round mag. Plus, the 13 round mag has had base plate issues for a lot of people. I also use a Phlster TQ Flatpack and a horizontal elastic band on my belt for an extra mag along with the Neomag with extended pocket clip. Having no IWB mag holster is much more comfortable and less bulky. For a knife I have a Shivworks Clinch Pick ready for off hand draw if I can't get my gun or my right hand goes down.
For your "pocket mag" and vehicle mags, check out the Ammo Armor mag covers. They slip off easily, but keep crud from getting in the mag. You can even bite one and pull the mag out, to facilitate a quick reload while protecting the mags. Train as you'll be using. We're not affiliated, just a happy Ammo Armor customer. Same for holsters; check out Stealthgear, as they have protection between your body and the pistol. Good stuff.
For EDC: my folder is the QSP hawk. Only carry fixed when backpacking. Condor Bushlore. Nebo torchy 2k for a light. CZ P01 will be my edc gun. Haven’t researched holsters but liking the look of the flannel one.
3:58 Good advice mentioned here “I shoot my defense ammo every 3 to 4 months.” It may be more expensive, but if you don’t shoot/train with the ammo you’re literally betting your life with, why carry it? Always shoot and refresh your defensive rounds every couple of months. Also carried the Shield, 2.0, and Plus for years, even did the EZ 9 for a few weeks. Great guns. Recently switched to carrying the M&P 2.0 Compact (Glock 19 size). Still find the Shield in my rotation. EDIT: More Ruckus Outlaw footage. A few seconds at the end of the video was not enough.
I’m 6 foot 170lbs, for me the side car style holsters are a little more comfortable. I think it’s got something to do with weight distribution, I can definitely see both sides. Awesome edc video!
Great stuff I also purchased the M&P performance center and sent it out had it cut for the Holosun red dot after seeing your short it is a great EDC pistol
Carry a cz pcr that I’ve had for 11 years now. Spare mag with more in the truck, A handmade fixed blade very similar to yours, a folder Spyderco pm3 in s45vn. My pcr is getting a ton of custom work on it and has been away for 3 months so I’ve just been carrying my s&w 442 with 158 grain +p semi wadcutters loaded to Kieth standards producing 400ft lbs of energy from the 1.8” barrel. Hits super hard and accurate even at 25 yards. Then just some speed strips in the pocket. Keep it simple and consistent.
I have watched many of your videos. Thanks. It shows that you really do have experience and common sense and not just the desire to make videos for YT. Yes, please do some knife videos. Thanks
A man after my own heart I carry a shield too the 45 .it has been my best friend for 2 years now and I'm looking into the m&p 30 super and the Taurus gx4 . Anyway great video keep up the good work
I never carried my Endura often. Maybe a handful of times in the last 8 years. Now, the Delica, I have 7 of them, my favorite being the Cru-Wear. Even my wife has a VG10 Delica. To each his, or her, own.
I carried the Shield 2.0 for about 3 years. I've since switched to the Shield Plus. A lot better firearm. Never liked the trigger on the Shield 2.0. I put a Holosun red dot sight on the Shield Plus and at 25 yards there's no 8 inch plate I can't hit. I also carry a Kershaw that's still as sharp as the day I bought it 4 years ago. And I've cut up tons of boxes with it. LOL. I've always loaded my firearms with Hornady Duty 135 grain.
You should look into the Benchmade triage with the flat tip. It has a glass breaker, seatbelt cutter and flat tip they Benchmade actually designed to handle light prying and as a screwdriver
EDC is my Gen 3 G19 had it for years and have shot the crap out of it. The grip feel was greatly improved when I stuck a MagPul Magwell on. Just bought a new slide and put a Halusn eps on it; needs about 200 more rounds before it becomes my carry slide. Ammo is 147gr HSTs - for practice I have 147gr handloads that have the same felt recoil and accuracy as the HSTs. For a knife a Kershaw Ken Onion Blackout with serrated blade. I am considering going tactifudd and having a optics cut milled on my Girsan Commander in 45 and then sticking eps carry on it. And some pepper spray
I have a crap load of knives. Top 2 EDC knives both have carbon fiber scales and deep pocket clips. Para military 2, and Osborne 940-1. The Osborne is the lightest, and just fits in the pocket like it isn't there. All my EDC's I put 550 snake knot lanyards on. Recently bought a Mcusta MC 181G, little heavy, but the blade is sharp, and looks like a mini Samurai blade.
Hey Chris, love the fact that you covered your full EDC from top to bottom. I'm not sure if you're familiar with them but check out Dawson knives. They're absolutely beautiful and incredibly functional as well.
I've carried a lot of different guns ... my Shields have never let me down, and the new Plus with an optic gives me fighting gun capability in a tiny package. My Shield Plus, Spyderco, and Streamlight go everywhere with me.
7:37 I have an Endura 4 just like that; foliage green, partial serrated. I also have a plain edge in Zome green. I’ve also been in plenty of fights, I’ve had to relieve people of weapons, scary business.
You helped me consider the m&p 2.0 3.6" and shield plus (although I did not opt for performance center) I 'm on your wavelength too because I had the M&P metal spec before you got that video out.
I need to look into a smaller fixed blade knife. I carry what seems to be gigantic... Smith & Wesson M&P. No idea if S&W gave it a name. Never looked at the package it came in before I threw it away. I trust it, but it's a 9¼" knife with a 4½" blade. I currently carry the Walther PDP during cold weather, because I wear a flannel shirt, untucked, and usually a small leather or flannel vest over it. But during the warm weather months, I carry the Shield Plus. Don't have the Performance Center. I went with the Optic Ready version that came with night sights. My other blade is a CobraTeck. Love seeing someone like you kind of validate my choice in EDC pistol!
Good edc kit buddy, I've searched 100s of houses for criminals over the years. My go to lights for EDC, for daily its a olight 5T eos, my search and SHFT light is surefire e2t-mv and as a back up a olight warrior 3s. I've used these lights for YEARS and I can vouch for all 3. I quit carrying a glock 19 over a year ago and now edc a sig x macro with a holosun, it's smaller, lighter. More rounds and just as accurate and reliable as my glock. My 2 EDC knives are either a micro tech ultra tech S/E and has worked flawlessly, or a Ontario mod 1 AWESOME knife for the money.
I’ve been trying to improve on my own personal EDC. Gun, knife, good slim wallet, and flashlight are definitely a good 4 things to have. I need to improve on 3 of the 4, and don’t even have 1 of the 4, which is a flashlight.
A word to the wise...If bad guys want to take things, let them. Not because that's the right thing to do, but because a good guy might avoid spending a small fortune on legal defense with no guarantee that one will not spend years in prison and go from Good Citizen to Convicted Felon. It's got to be life and limb, back to the wall and nowhere to go, action of last resort. On a lighter note, I also carry a Spyderco. They make a fantastic product. I have a PM2. Being able to switch the clip to right/left/up/down orientation is great. Also a stun gun, mostly for the noise. Stops a dogfight like a cold water from a hose. Also, great channel.

Definitely! I’d love to see some more knife videos! Looking forward to seeing your content you put up! God bless!
Shield plus FTW!
Ew, shield plus.
I have pretty much the same setup, I have a Kershaw knife that clips on to my pocket, along with a can of Mace along with the same S&W which I love...that's the best EDC gun I ever have
The spyderco endura/endela lockbacks are one of the few folders that I can open and close with a single gloved hand.
Changing out your carry ammunition every 3 months is a little extreme , most police departments will issue new carry ammo every 12 months and today’s ammunition will last for many many years without any issues
just thought I would mention .
Yep we change out our street ammo once a year, never had problems.
Mad respect for that knife choice! I have a spyderco Para 3 lightweight (kinda similar to the endura 4) and man I love it!
Top notch content, one of my favorite channels by far!
Yes, for blades. Unite the brother of the blades. Perhaps favorite blade gun combo set ups.
I second the Headhunter Blades Rat. It is easy to carry and such a well designed, purpose driven tool for my every day carry.
I Bought a grip extension for my Shield plus flesh fit mag. My pinky finger was hanging before, now its perfect.
Did the same. Also the M&P Equalizer magazines fit the Plus and have bigger sizes/capacity. 15 round mag is around $30-$35. (9mm)
Tier 1 concealed axis elite carries fantastic. Very similar to the sidecar from T. rex. Fantastic setup
Good stuff.
I’m a big fan of Dreadnaught holsters. They’re veteran owned, and the most comfortable ITWB holster I’ve used. I have one for all my carry pistols.
I have really now enjoyed the appendix carry of the Sig x macro. Very comfy 17+1 and extra mags. Tier One is a great holster too.
Awesome EDC! I usually carry a p365 optics ready with Wilson Combat grip I love it!
Yup. Team Spyderco! Delica, Endura, etc. Love em’ all.
Do a video on the PSA Micro Dagger at some point if you get a chance. Looks sweet
Love your perspective, it's like a breath of fresh air in a sea of sameness.
You are the reason I bought a M&P shield plus 9mm... And I'm so happy I did ! Your awesome dude , great and informative content !!
Very impressive and very practical EDC.
Loved everything about this video brother. Thanks and God bless
Hey Chris, love the fact that you covered your full EDC from top to bottom. I'm not sure if you're familiar with them but check out Dawson knives. They're absolutely beautiful and incredibly functional as well.
My buddy is a Sgt Maj in the Marine Corps, he still carries the original shield as his edc when off duty
I love the Shield plus. My EDC is now a CZ P-10C. I don’t carry a knife but seriously considering it now.
I've carried a lot of different guns ... my Shields have never let me down, and the new Plus with an optic gives me fighting gun capability in a tiny package. My Shield Plus, Spyderco, and Streamlight go everywhere with me.
Hard to argue with the Spyderco Endura. I also have a CRKT 4” folder that has a cam lock on the liner lock. It makes the blade super secure.
7:37 I have an Endura 4 just like that; foliage green, partial serrated.
I also have a plain edge in Zome green.
I’ve also been in plenty of fights, I’ve had to relieve people of weapons, scary business.
You helped me consider the m&p 2.0 3.6" and shield plus (although I did not opt for performance center)
I 'm on your wavelength too because I had the M&P metal spec before you got that video out.
I like the monoblock clip the QVO’s can come with. Good grip on a belt
