I just lost most of my sight, can't drive or read much, but thank God I can still see a target enough to shoot. My EDC is a Hellcat Pro for now. My goal is save and get the WC EDC that Mr Wilson is carrying currently. Love to listen to the talks in these videos

Congrats! The Wilson EDC’s are the most natural pointing pistols I’ve ever shot. I’ve had mine for nearly 5 years and if your experience is anything like mine, you’re going to love it!
I am between you two in age and I always like hearing y'all talk about your equipment and experiences (and your training tips, of course). My smallest carry guns are a commander size 1911 and a HK USPc, both in 9mm. Due to hip and back issues, I can't carry those pistols on my hip more than one day without significant pain. The past two years, I have reluctantly, yet, increasingly been using AIWB carry. After tens of 1,000s of rep's learning AIWB techniques, my discomfort has lessened. As always, thanks guys.
Wilson Combat holds a special place in my heart… In January 2012 me, my mom and my wife were out for a day of lunch and shopping and both were nice enough to accompany me to one of my dealers where I ordered a stainless Wilson Classic - picked it up 4 months later. My first high end 1911 was a Wilson ordered with mom - today in addition to that Classic, I have 2 CQB’s, 2 CQB Tactical LE’s and 2 EDC X9’s. Wilson Combat is such a fantastic company, wonderful people, phenomenal guns and these videos are icing on the cake! Love these vids!!!!
@@chrispetersen113 Thanks so much! I decided that instead of having dozens of guns, I would focus on really good guns that I buy on layaway and make little payments that makes it possible!
Great guys here and love the civil and respectful comments without a bunch of bad language. I wish I could afford one of these guns but many of us just can’t afford a $2500+ gun. They are a piece of art however. Maybe one day. For now I’m sticking with the 365 because it allows me to pocket carry it in those places I can’t get by with a larger gun. It fits me well and it shoot better with it than anything short of a 1911. Thanks for the video. Love the fact that you are still in the game even though you both could rest on your laurels
I both love and respect both of you guys, where I work I have to be sure I am concealed so these days I carry a S&W Shield, it's the smallest lightest Gun that is still as near 100% reliable, I have put a lot of rounds downrange (around 3000) with it and thus far it has not had any malfunctions, I have enough faith in it that I got one for the wife as well.
Great stuff always look forward to what these two have to say. That Commander size pistol Hackathorn was carrying brings a tear to the eye just a beautiful piece all the way around
My everyday carry is a 5" steel 1911 in .45 acp. It is a Springfield Armory Custom Shop Professional that was made for my agency. I'm retired now but still carry this gun every day. Yes, a government model 1911 is heavy but it's also slim. I use a very stiff gun belt from We The People and an IWB leather holster from Milt Sparks at about 3:30. I use Wilson Combat 8 round magazines. One in the pipe and an extra mag gives me 17 rounds of .45 acp. I use Golden Sabers or Hydro Shock or whatever duty ammo I have on hand. This is the most comfortable rig for me. Thanks for producing these videos! I love learning the habits of legends in the industry. I would love to own that pistol Bill is currently carrying but I just plain can't justify the cost when I already own this Springfield that has proven to be the best handgun I've ever had the privilege of carrying. Its a smooth, tight, reliable, tack driving powerhouse. Maybe I'll come across a clean used Wilson one day. I'd love to own one his masterpieces.

When I first started to carry many years ago I used leather. I transitioned to kydex. I must have gone through dozens of kydex and oddly I have returned to leather and I love it. Leather is an excellent choice and my preferred.
Good show as always. The only gun I would give up either my CZ 75D compact or RAMI for would be Bill Wilson’s EDC X9 compact. It is an absolute work of art. However, we’re getting out of dodge to a country with more sensible gun laws and so I’ll be selling my entire collection of handguns and long guns. And literally, aside from giving up the CZ’s, my biggest regret is NOT being able to get the X9. It’s amazing.
Man, I did that when I moved to the Philippines for a police training contract. I sold over 100 guns, was over there for a few years, got hurt and had to come back here. I regret having sold all of my guns. I just had to buy the good ones back at higher prices later, and some simply could not be replaced. If I had it to do over again, I'd find a trusted friend to keep them for me, just in case. As long as you have that lovely blue passport you can always come back to visit them.
Great video you guys. You laid it out in simple terms for a guy that has been carrying daily since the mid1980s, and I completely agree with your assessment. I carried all kinds of guns in the beginning from a full size 1911 down to a S&W 5 shot double action only 357 mag. I wasn't comfortable with the thought of shot placement with the little but powerful revolver and although very proficient with the 1911 it was too damn heavy for EDC. I finally settled on an aluminum frame Commander in 45 ACP about 15 or 20 years ago and I doubt I'll ever change. I own a S&W 1911sc and a Dan Wesson Guardian and they both function flawlessly. Don't be offended Bill, I own one of your guns as well and love it. I've also taken classes from Massad.
Last pistol I bought before leaving Idaho, same pistol Bill Wilson showed. I sent it back to Wilson to change the sights, dumped the fiber optic for one of his big orange night sight front and had an adjustable rear on the back ( was the combo the shop suggested) and I have no worries. The pinky extensions are a must for my size hand and the holster is the Plain-Jane version Mr. Wilson showed. Outstanding combo In the 10 round, have to state I live in now, this gets it done 8/10 hours a day. Gonna have to pass on that odd bullet but I respect highly your pick. Had to go with Mr. Hackathorn’s call on ammo, 135 HP. Thanks gentleman for a great video.
Gentleman...I have watched all of your videos and this is the 1st time I have commented..I am 56 years old and have made a few laps around the block..I absolutely love the 2 of you jaw jack the topic of all guns! Please keep it up and God bless....
Ken I fell in love with the beautiful pictures of your homestead. The video was great but I felt a certain peace come over me with the pictures of the landscape.
Glock 48 with shield arms 15rd mag, Dara IWB holster and Tenicor mag pouch. In the winder I'll also carry a Glock 43 in a galco ankle holster as backup.
My EDC for 20+ yrs was some form of Colt .45, Combat Elite at first, then a 1991-a1. Decided about 5 yrs ago to go a different route, so my EDC today is a Sig p229 Scorpion Elite .40. Absolutely love it. I've always admired Wilson's quality over the years from what I've shot or held; can't really tell why I've never bought or carried one.
About 45 years ago, I shot in the I.P.S.C. national championship match and as a custom gun builder just getting started in the business. I gave away a free Chanpionship custom gun package. Worth about $1000 at the time. As luck would have it, Mr. Ken Hackathorn, picked up the prize package after asking Ross Seyfried if my work was any good, and when Ross told him I was a good pistolsmith, Ken picked up my prize off of the table and later sent me a new Colt 1911 to have me do my work on for him. From what Ken told me, that 1911 45 was his carry and match gun for many years as it was both accurate and reliable at the same time. Thanks to Ken's review on that gun in a gun mag a few months later, my pistolsmithing business told off like crazy and I was back logged on work for years. Now being 75 years old, I am retired and Fishter Custom Firearms is closed. Thaks to Kens review I had over 30 years of gunsmithing business to keep me well feed. Thanks again Ken. Yours Truly, Don Fisher
First off, I really appreciate your videos! Would like to see your reviews on some other manufacturers everyday carry guns. S&W, Glock, Springfield and so on. Thanks.
I enjoyed that. I guess what surprised me the most was the frequency of changes with each of you with regards to your primary carry. I have the Experior, EDC X9, SFX9 and SFT9 I recently purchased to replace my Kimber Ultra CDP II .45 (maybe) that I have carried for the last 15 years since CCW's were first made available up in MO where I was at the time (now in AR overlooking the state line not far from you all). I have always had a lot of guns available to me as a Class 3 SOT but I never 'rotated' my primary carry which was this platform and what I learned to shoot well in the USMC circa early 80's before the 9mm was adopted. I love your guns and am proud to own them. Keep up the good work and GREAT video's!!
Guys love listening to you ! Maybe it's something our age ? I carry mine the same way . If you are going to carry a gun for defense? I carry it always on me in a good holster .
I'm in your age group and I love listening to your opinions because not only do I learn a bunch you also end validating alot of what I've learned over the years. My edc is the glock 43x with the shield arms 15 mags. So except for the cost factor I'm right there with you with regards to your thinking. I pick your channel when I drive and shuffle your play list it's a firearm university while I drive. Thanks Rico
Great video! I love carrying my full size 5" 45 Colt 1911 in my Milt Sparks Nelson style holster. And I enjoy when you all talk about the great 1911. I know that it may seem like you are beating a dead horse, because you all have covered so many things on the gun, but it never gets old and always gets my attention. Thanks for the great video guys!!!! I enjoy them a lot!!!
Great video gents! I have carried my X9 daily for almost 5 years and it has LOTS of holster wear. I also carry in a Milt Sparks 55BN - if you love leather, they are top notch! I would love to see a video that digs into the Lehigh bullet performance on those wild hogs. Penetration, Tissue Damage, Blood Loss, etc. Always look forward to hearing from “THE” Gun Guys!
You can't go wrong with a Wilson. Mine is the Sig P-365. I love the sandpaper grips. I don't trust the single action 1911 style guns. Too much to remember. An accident waiting to happen.
My competition gun is a .45ACP WC CA Protector. It is a PHENOMENAL pistol (especially after escaping California and upgrading it with Bullet Proof parts)...but it's a bit big and heavy for EDC. That role is fulfilled with my WC 4" EDC X9 9mm or my Ed Brown Kobra Carry in .45ACP.
The Hornady plant is down the road from me in Grand Island Nebraska. I make frequent trips there cause when I do the tour, which never gets old, I get a free box of ammo of my choice. I also purchase ammo there at a great price. I want to move in across the street. They are great people.
This was a good one ! Both your carry pistols I like ! Leather holsters I’ve carried for over 55 years now and still think they are the best for their purpose! I’m a wheel gun person and have been all my life , I just like them ! Currently I carry a S&W 586 and have for 21 years now ! I switch off and carry my fine S&W 617 model which I’ve owned now for 7 years ! You have a great program I really enjoy it !
Through a lot of research, I came to the same conclusion and carry Xtreme Defence, 90 grain +P in my EDC Glock 19. 17 rd. Glock additional mag and .380 backup. Great video, Gentlemen!
I'm pretty new to this and really appreciating y'all's mature and expert perspectives. I bought a brand new Walther Q4 steel frame two months ago and the darn thing has rust in a few spots, as well as the grip screws😭
That was interesting and I appreciate the remarks about the holsters and particularly the ammo. So many choices in self defense ammo now. Lots of advertising on holsters. One of the key points was to carry a pistol one shoots well, which implies is fun to shoot. Revolvers are the same way. So many J frames, but they don't pass the shoots well (15 yards) test nor fun to shoot. Revolvers start getting fun with the Model 19 carry comp K frame, a great every day sidearm for self defense in revolvers. The same water line for slide actions exists where the Kahr P9 Covert is above water and Kimber Micro 9 below water. Shoot with a club or buddies to try their sidearms. Military, police, and competition pistols are not every day carry for self defense.
right near the end of this video, he makes a great point... "I might get fired from my job if they realize I am carrying a gun". In most US states, if you have your carry permit, you might violate 'company policy' (and risk losing your job) if carrying a gun while at work, but as long as you have that carry permit, you face no legal repercussions.
My secret piggy bank is not there yet, but I'll get there for sure. I have a Beretta 92G I bought years ago from WC, but I want to get Bill's current rig. I carry a Bersa Thunder in 380ACP because it is really comfortable and the SFX9 would be the ideal upgrade.
When I was 20, I thought these were out of reach. Now I’m 40 and have 10 of them :-) Keep working hard to all you young guys out there drooling, yes they are worth it. No you don’t need it, cops and soldiers don’t need this fit and finish but if you would rather drive a Lexus over a Toyota, you know how it is
I have a pretty slim build. I thought a 4-inch would work best for me, but I found that the contact point of the barrel end would center pressure right on the hip bone and was uncomfortable. The longer barrel of the Commander shifts the pressure down to the muscle and rides much better through the day.
I have gone from a Glock 19 to my relatively new Wilson Combat SFX9 3.25 INCH with no rail. I carry it in a Milt Sparks IWB leather holster. My biggest concern when carrying a 1911 platform has always been the safety, and the chance it may disengage at the wrong time. The SFX9 has a crisp safety that has a crisp engage and disengage, which gives me the confidence at all times. I carry 124 grn HST in mine.
Ken always agrees with Bill, on everything, when you're on the payroll, it's hard not to, but i respect these guys. Also, I love wilson combat products. They're the best in the business, i would love to own one of their 1911s if i can afford it.
Well first of all I have never had a Wilson gun but if it wasn’t for you all I would have sold my edc. The p365xl I loved but the grip was just a little to slim to shoot repetitive every time. But after I purchased your grip module for the Xl I am in love again with my gun. Thank you so much for you ingenuity!!! When is the grip module for the 365 a macro coming to the shelves. I need it so bad just don’t tell my wife…. Haha!!
I really like these guys they are freaking the best reminds me of my grandpa that's passed now but nice to see old timers and I feel blessed to hear what they have to share 🙏🏻 🙌🏻
Please do an episode on how to choose the right magazine for your gun. You make so many different models and capacities. Why would I choose one over the other?
Time will tell. I got variants for Valentine's Day for my wife and I, but I'm not sold. I have to put a whole lotta rounds downrange before they take the place of my current backups. Frankly, their media blitz adds to my skepticism - Fieldcraft, GBRS, every Guntuber with hands on singing praises in unison just makes my conspiracy meter beep. 😆. I hope they do prove to be that good - I love new trusty tools in my toolbox.
right now I'm keeping a close eye on my wife's 365, had to get a new recoil spring from sig before we even shot it for the first time. Sig customer service was good and sent me a new one with only one call, I was also relieved that it looks like the primer drag issue was corrected.
@@brawldawg8729 The comment sections for those guntubers would quickly or eventually confirm, enforce, or challenge anything they (or any media blast) are wholeheartedly endorsing or bashing.
Just to confirm . . . The SFX9 is the same as the EDC X9? I have an EDC X9S (3.25" barrel) with a Holosun 507c ACSS Vulcan green as my main CCW. (I use a Precision Holsters Mike Seeklander AIWB holster.). Love the gun!
I often wonder how people keep their carry guns so spotless. I carry appendix and after a couple of months, you could create a clone of me from the dead skin that has rubbed off into the rough part of the grip. My P365 has years of carrying and thousands of rounds through it and it looks the part. Working on giving a 43X a similar look.
I'm 74 and have been shooting since age 6 and reloading since age 14. Life long hunter and occasional competitor. That said, I've been a fan of BOTH of you (and Skeeter and Elmer) for all my adult life. Nearly 30 years working (and carrying) in Denver area (including some "bad" places downtown) but now living in the rural foothills of SW Colorado battling raccoons, skunks, coyotes, bobcats, lions and bears (one on my deck 4 months ago). Interestingly, my 2 carry guns (depending on season and clothing of the day, are the same as yours: a micro 9 and a Commander. Great choices, men!!! Thanks so much for staying active in producing these vids for our pleasure and education.
bless that story - i was having hip problems , so , i could lose some weight on my EDC .. not from everywhere, but you know , excessive weight ! gotta cut that mag size and ammo type before you cut the apple pie dessert , so true !
My EDC is a Wilson EDC x9, or Dan Wesson guardian .45 acp., spring/fall, in winter it’s a NightHawk GRP recon, a Springfield Professional, or a custom 10mm Dan Wesson. Summer in Arizona, S&W 638, or sig 365.
And it sounds like you're very happy. Are you being hunted by cartel assassins? Or maybe deadly aliens? Otherwise, have you considered just using the same compact 9mm all the time? That's what most people who EDC do. Unless maybe that doesn't do it for you...
@ its been my experience since I’m licensed to carry and train in all 50 states, that the claim most people carry the same 9mm compact all the time, is absolutely false. Depending on weather, location of travel, state capacity guidelines ( which thank goodness I’m exempt from) dress, and other factors. In fact, after 37 years in the business, and having to use it on felons, myself, other trainers, and weapons carriers all have a rotation of 5-6 different weapons they rely on.
I usually carry my Sig 250 compact in 45 or my Glock 42. I have many others to choose from but those seem to be the ones that I usually reach for. Occasionally will use my Walther P99 in 40sw just so it doesn’t feel neglected.
Most people I talk to are still not buying the Lehigh ammo b/c they’re not convinced it’s equally (or more) reliable in feeding/cycling as traditional HP’s and FMJ’s
43c, 642, 65 4", PPK/S .22 with YMT can, 229 357, G26. Out in deep woods Redhawk, 681 in the woods. On duty, G22 gen 3 and...... Have enough experience to carry what gives you a warmnfuzzy. I feel pretty wrmnfuzzy with a Beretta 1201P. Anything else just takes the edge off a bit.
Love to see you guys make a commander style edc 10mm 4 inch barrel slim hammer fired pistol that wouldn't print...now that would be amazing...good video
I find myself going down the same road as Bill. Don't have any hip problems to deal with but the larger guns always patterned and they could get uncomfortable sitting or in a vehicle. Now... I don't find myself or my budget in the Wilson Combat category... Yet... So I have found a subcompact, brand SA M2, in 45 with 9+1 and a backup full size mag of 13. I did though invest in a nice Kramer Leather holster. It fits my hand well, I shoot it regularly in matches and it can be concealed just about anywhere. Maybe for a retirement gift to myself I'll be able to step up to something in the Wilson Combat line that is comparable. Keep up the great videos!
Super interesting. I guess I'll never have a fine gun like those on my fixed income, but I will never be unarmed. It's nice to see works of art like that.
Square trigger guards have always been indicative of up to date modern and futuristic design aesthetics. They look very distinct and state of the art. JEM and Infinity frames accentuate this perfectly. An all stainless or hard chrome 4" commander 1911 with a melt job, contour /bobtail, bull barrel and short curved trigger in .45 is something I've been meaning to add to my collection. Would probably even take priority over my current daily P365XL. Nothing feels as good in the hand as a 1911.

Thanks for writing! I'll pass that on to Ken.
Ken there you go again I love your 1911s
First off, I really appreciate your videos! Would like to see your reviews on some other manufacturers everyday carry guns. S&W, Glock, Springfield and so on. Thanks.
I like these regular contents. Please continue to put out more contents on the regular!
The audio and camera qualities are very nice!
Thanks! Will do!
Glock 43x with 3.5 lb trigger and the new shield 15 round magazines.
Trijjicon night sights. Crucial concealment holster.
I use a leather pancake holster for my 3" Springfield Armory 1911 and that defeats the 3 o'clock belt loop. Very nice guy's.
I’m not an experienced enough shooter to carry. I’m glad I have a few acres to keep it on me. When I’m out in the woods.
I carry a Ruger LCP Custom with with underwood extreme penatrators when I need to pocket carry. I can hit pretty well out to 15 yards with it.
Great discussion. A lot of what is mentioned are things you only learn when you start carrying and discover the ins and outs of specific platforms.
When LE adopts this solid projectile I will.
Thanks for sharing your EDC information.
You bet!
Jesus! Love you guys! Please never stop the knowledge flows
You can't go wrong with a Wilson. Mine is the Sig P-365. I love the sandpaper grips. I don't trust the single action 1911 style guns. Too much to remember. An accident waiting to happen.
I bought a remora holster for my shield, gotta say I do love it. Very comfortable, forget you’re even wearing it. Give it a try
Love you guys! Bill when is Wilson Combat coming out with a your version of the new 365 X Macro grip module?!!!
Thanks, I always enjoy you videos. I agree with the belt loop problem, my work around is the pancake style holster.
Thanks for watching!
My solution also . Blessed day to all and thanks ! 👍🏻🙏💕
The Hornady plant is down the road from me in Grand Island Nebraska. I make frequent trips there cause when I do the tour, which never gets old, I get a free box of ammo of my choice. I also purchase ammo there at a great price. I want to move in across the street. They are great people.
Simple and effective drills are always appreciated Gentlemen, thank you
More to come!
Agree. Your skill drills are lots of fun to watch and see
This was a good one !
I could sit and listen to y'all talk all night, always great topics with great info 😃
Mine’s an SFX9, 10 rnd with a Southern Trapper custom holster. Best holster I’ve ever owned.
I'm pretty new to this and really appreciating y'all's mature and expert perspectives. I bought a brand new Walther Q4 steel frame two months ago and the darn thing has rust in a few spots, as well as the grip screws😭
Make no mistake, those 2 guys are icons in the gun community. There are a lot of wannabes these days, but you can trust what those guys say.
Thank you Mr Wilson for your input!
39 degrees Fahrenheit this morning in SE Idaho.
No I'm not ready for it!!!
Well, my duty weapon is a full size Glock, so a Glock 26 with the 12 round mag for EDC. Both with HiViz night sights, makes everything feel the same.
You guys are awesome, I carry a Glock 26 which is the Toyota Corolla of pistols. You guys carry the Mercedes Benz of pistols. I salute you.
right near the end of this video, he makes a great point...
Thank you for another great video from two national treasures.
Our pleasure!
When I was 20, I thought these were out of reach.
Now I’m 40 and have 10 of them :-)
Keep working hard to all you young guys out there drooling, yes they are worth it. No you don’t need it, cops and soldiers don’t need this fit and finish but if you would rather drive a Lexus over a Toyota, you know how it is
Super interesting to see what kind of 1911s old people carry
Love these videos, so much experience and information here, even if I'll Never be able to afford one of these guns.
We need to create a library of all of your videos. They are all very informative and entertaining!
Ken always agrees with Bill, on everything, when you're on the payroll, it's hard not to, but i respect these guys. Also, I love wilson combat products. They're the best in the business, i would love to own one of their 1911s if i can afford it.
I carry a Mossberg MC1sc 9mil and I am very impressed with it ...nice guns guys
I'm currently carrying a Ruger sr1911 commander. Hopefully some day there will be a Wilson combat hanging in it's place. Great video 👍👍
Thank's guys.
I'd love to get a Wilson combat x9 supergrade. What a treasure of a gun.
Please do an episode on how to choose the right magazine for your gun. You make so many different models and capacities. Why would I choose one over the other?
Best gun channel by far.
Sig 365 variants kinda hard to beat.
Ruger LCP max. Fully loaded with 13rds weighs less than a pound.
right now I'm keeping a close eye on my wife's 365, had to get a new recoil spring from sig before we even shot it for the first time.
The EDC X9S and the SFX9 3.25" 10rd are the same thing. It was renamed so other models could be offered as well under the new SFX9 line.
Learning from you all really appreciate the knowledge.
Carry a P365XL right now. Im not a big guy, so smaller works better for me. That SFX9 10rnd looks very intersting though!
Great video! Would love one of your 1911s someday, but in the meantime rocking a Sig 365 with your grip module. Its been awesome!
Right on
I'm 74 and have been shooting since age 6 and reloading since age 14.
Smith and Wesson Shield plus PC for me. Lightweight and the flatest shooting of the wonder 9's
As usual great content men and I concur lifelong gun guy have gone from 5 inch government to sub compact 9mm but still only leather
I usually carry my Sig 250 compact in 45 or my Glock 42. I have many others to choose from but those seem to be the ones that I usually reach for. Occasionally will use my Walther P99 in 40sw just so it doesn’t feel neglected.
Now who would of ever thought 🤔 these two guys would be carrying Wilson Combat EDC, 💪🇺🇸
Beautiful guns. And I wish I knew which watch Ken was wearing.
Nice handguns gentlemen
Nothing but the very best from The Gun Guys, (Mas included, 'course!)..
🇺🇲💪🏆
Thanks guys
Our pleasure!
I have the 4” bbl version. Great gun, unfortunately not nearly enough AIWB/IWB holster options.
Super interesting. I guess I'll never have a fine gun like those on my fixed income, but I will never be unarmed. It's nice to see works of art like that.
Another great episode.
I rotate, sig p320 compact 45acp and glock 23. I use 9mm for idpa.
