Thank you chef. This is the first video I've watched that makes me believe if I make it, it will taste like Pilau rice. I also enjoyed your calm demeaner and calm voice. Will be watching for more recipes. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 from South Africa
I recently discovered this channel and to my dismay there aren't many videos. I would encourage you share your recipes as your videos are thorough and very articulate.
Hi, unfortunately the pans aren't available just yet. We're hoping to start selling them in the new year, so keep an eye out! We'll announce as soon as they're available 👀
Just tried this and thought it was awesome.. thanks very much for sharing your knowledge and skills. I love your methods and personality. I'm hooked on your videos and recipes 😋 thanks again chef and please keep it up 👍👍
I followed this recipe to the tee about a month ago and we absolutely enjoyed it. I will be making some again today 😊 so thank you for sharing and showing how to make authentic homestyle cuisine cos as a home cook myself this is what I was looking for 🇯🇲
Hi, love your channel, the seed mix you use there, looks like a sort of panch poran but using black peppercorns, coriander seeds etc, is that a custom mix of your own used in the restaurant or do you buy it like that? Thanks.
Do you wash the rice before putting it in the pan? How many washes? I really enjoy watching you cook. You make it seem possible to achieve that wonderful taste at home. Thank you
Thank you for your kind words, we wash the rice three times and then let it soak for 30 mins prior to cooking, you can leave it longer as well, but 30 mins is adequate, works well for us.
How would you make enough for your restaurant? Do you literally multiply the quantities and use a great big pan or is there another method for industrial quantities?
Every recipe has turned out perfect. Love the fact you are making it with health in mind. There are others on there that saturate everything with fat and over complicate the dishes. I have tried them also, you guys have my vote.
You said you added a spice that I can't make out what your saying but you didn't put it in the description. It's at the part where your addihgvthe spices.....something seed. Wondering what this is
Thank you and Salam Alaikum (hope I spelt that right?) chef Hussain! This looks amazing, as always. And I'm going to gather the spices from my local Asian store - here in Chester, and cook it asap. Lastly, please, may I presume the rice used was Basmati? Thank you. Goodbye
On the part of the video where you add the whole spices, could you please tell me what the very first ingredient that you place in the oil and onion is? You show it in your hand to the camera but I’m not sure what it is exactly. Please and thank you!🙏🏻
Yes you wash the rice before adding it , it helps remove the starch and stops it sticking together , you can see it’s damp when he adds it , it’s sticking to the container , if it was dry rice it would have just emptied in easily
Chef Hussain, Salam aleikum. I want to ask if using aluminium pans is safe long term? I ask because I have some famiky and friends who have alzheimers and with that disease ...there is plaque build up in the brain which contains aluminum. There is no scientific link yet but once upon a time there was no scientific link between cancer and asbestos and cancer and smoking. Are there alternatives? I think clay pots are more authentic. Also do you have any more videos of cooking in Pakistan? We enjoyed the one you did very much
Walaikumsallam, I haven't come across this before, as you have mentioned will certainly do some research on this. Since childhood mum has always cooked food in aluminium pots. In Pakistan my family use clay pots and Aluminum pots for cooking. I appreciate your comments. We do have a few more videos which will be uploaded soon. Kind regards Hussain
@@TheBaltiBrothers thank you chef. Its just a slight concern, there is no medical evidence but I thought I'd ask. Thank you for replying, you made my day:)
Auminium metal pots and pans are completely inert and cannot be absorbed into the body. Alumimium pans are completely safe. The foil Chef Hussain used is aluminium and totally safe. To get aluminium into the body it has to be consumed as an alumimium compound as happened in the tragic water treatment incident. Alumimum metal is safe. Use and enjoy. If you don't want to there are copper and cast iron kitchenwares.
I only cook with cast iron or stainless steel because aluminum has been implicated in Alzheimer's and dementia. I appreciate your recipe instructions ;)
Pilau is east Africa bantu originated from Kikuyu tribe.pi mean cook in Swahili very common in east Kikuyu tribe people.like my comments thumbs up.lau Swahili word la word chakula mean food.
Thank you for commenting, usually we make it in bigger quantities in a different pot with a lid. Because we made a very small batch in this very small pot which we don't have lid for it. Please watch the Murgh pilau video, we use a big pot with a lid.

Does anyone add the washed rice 1st, then the water??
could we have the side curry that goes with a chicken biryani please..

Soon we will do a video for Biryani 👌
Doesn’t balti mean bucket?

The rice is already cooked ? didnt uinderstand that part
Are you sure with 1 1/2 Tablesspoons of salt not 1 1/2 Teaspoons of salt ?
Looks like 1/2 on the video.

Did i notice Himalayan salt not that it matters but it has more flavor than standard salt.
Yes that's correct and definitely more flavour 😋
