Thank you all for watching! This hunt is a throwback to 2017: before Coin Quest and coin roll hunting placemats, there was Search for Silver. Shout-out to you if you remember these days! On another note, this was one of my best nickel box hunts ever! So much variety in this box- we got a little of everything! Comment below what your favorite find was!
It gets even better than that. I’ve only been coin hunting for about a year now, but it’s mostly been pennies and half dollars. This was only my 2ND nickel box. Overall I’ve had pretty good luck with coin hunting.
Nice channel! When I was 13 I would roll nickels from 39-59, but I never thought they would be so desirable 30 years later. I hunted the V plate nickels when I was your age and those were the ones to find. Great job man, it never gets old, trust me:)
I just went through my first $100 box of nickels and found my first buffalo nickel along with 19 nickels to add to my collection book between the years 1938 and 1961. including a 1955 Plain with only 8.3 million minted. This channel got me started in coin roll hunting and coin collecting and i really enjoy it. Thanks and keep posting new videos.
@@QuinsCoins sadly the buffalo I found the date was wiped...but i ordered some Nic-a-date to try and reveal it. Also i was wondering what you do with the duplicates you find after you fill the spot in your collection books. I plan on keeping all the silver war nickels i find but wasn't sure if any of the other dates were worth keeping.
That’s awesome. I coin roll hunted and coin collected about a year ago and only found one war tine nickle in like 4 boxes. A little bit after that I took a break from collection but want to start again and might post videos on my channel soon. You were also the reason I found out about coin roll hunting so I wanted to say thank you for introducing me into this fun hobby!
I got my own nickel box yesterday and i did 16 rolls so far. I got a 1938 and 1939 and a couple in the 1950s and 40s. I was really excited when i got 2 2009s in one roll
Similar thing happened to me with the swiss coins, during WW2 they made that same series out of steel. I bought them up cause I thought they were beautiful silver, but now I have a bag of beautiful steel!
The Swiss coin is a 20 Rappen coin. I’ve also found one while hunting nickels. I actually hunted a nickel box on Tuesday and only two rolls in when a buffalo popped out. It was pretty worn. No date and the words ‘five cents’ were worn off, but there was no need to Nic-A-Date it (I don’t have any, anyway). The reverse has a raised mound which means it’s a 1913 type 1 buffalo. I was really excited about that, but it gets even better. Further into the box I found another nickel and almost discarded it because it looked like a 1968, but I looked at it closer and realized it was a 1938 and when I turned it over, there was a Denver mint mark on it. If that wasn’t enough, I found a 1939 in the same roll as the 38.
Wow that is a great hunt! I have had terrible luck finding ‘38s but I always love hearing about other people finding them 😆 the type 1 is a great find as well, it turns out the first buffalo I found in this box was a type 1 too! Good luck on your next hunt!
HI Quin, I really enjoy your programs, if you role your return coins could you start pushing to have people black mark down the sides of the roles, just a simple marker line, to indicate the role has been searched. if we all did it it would really help knowing it's been searched.
Dude! Wild box! Congrats on the low-mintage V-nickel! I've found 2 V-nickels since January-a 1904 and a 1911-both wiped and substantially higher mintages than '09.
Thank you! I was so shocked when I pulled out the red book and saw how much lower the mintage was for the 1909 compared to the ones around it. I will say this though...I haven't found a v nickel since so it's been about a year and a half now since I got one. Getting two in the span of four months is amazing, regardless of the dates- nice hunting!
Nice finds! The Swiss coin is a 20 rappen, and the other foreign is from Norway. Awesome 1909 V nickel, usually you don't find them looking that nice, usually the liberty on the headband is worn away, so that is really good. You should revive the hunt for silver series, it's always fun finding silver!
Thanks for the comment! I will consider bringing back search for silver or something similar to it. Things have definitely changed since then. Thanks for watching!
13:01 Quin, I think that 1939 might just be a double die reverse. That is a beautiful coin. I think that’s what it is because another channel I watch Rob Finds Treasure found two.
I love finding those V nickels. About 4 or 5 months ago I found an 1883 first year issue V nickel and it's in great shape. I about fell to the floor. Nice finds on that box. I enjoyed this video. Take care and HH. Jim
After looking at the wear patterns on all of my dateless buffs, I'm 95% sure it's a type 1. I had initially thought that the reverse was just very worn. And I would agree with that!
So yesterday I got a box of pennies and the very 1st roll was a ender! But it was very common tho it was a ‘52 D wheatie and also 98 percent of the box was 2019 pennies why? What do I do? I’m looking for the W mint
Hello i am so fascinated on how many are buying cases of coins and finding good finds. You should keep it an look into the coin more could be an error in my opinion. Wow i wish i new how to buy coins. congratulations
Hey Quin I found a 1893 liberty head V nickel. I wish I could show it to u. I work at a casino and that's where I found it. I was super EXCITED when I found it.
I do like that you can nickel hunt and it's no trick at all to find some 50 year old examples. Tons and tons of 60s, 50s, even some 40s without much effort.
Do you re-roll the coins yourself? All the banks in my area including chase have stopped customers from using the coin counting machines. No longer able to do this anywhere around here.

That nickel with the 20 and a wreath is from Switzerland and is 20 Rappen. I have found 3 is 14 boxes so far.
do not clean that buffalo nickel. it is a 1913 type 1. you can tell by the raised mound below the buffalo. please compare the back.
