COIN ROLL HUNTING UNSEARCHED ROLLS OF CANADIAN PENNIES FOR RARE AND VALUABLE COINS!

- Today, I am coin roll hunting a coin that has eluded many within the coin roll hunting community...Canadian pennies! Canada seized production of the penny in 2012 and has been actively pulling their pennies from circulation ever since. This has made it very difficult to find this particular coin, especially in unsearched rolls. However, I was able to find a listing for these coins online and I bought myself a box. Let's see what is hidden within the rolls of these forbidden coins!

There must be billions of Canadian pennies that have avoided the Great Meltdown. I like the business idea of selling sealed bank boxes of these pennies. A coin collectors dream. I love Canadian coins, I have a tin filled with the pennies including pre 1937 ones and a stack of Canadian silver dollars (pre 1968). Love the videos Quinn, keep up the good work.
All I got is a 1932 Canada...but I did learn a lot thank you
AWESOME VIDEO! You are my number one guy on coins. I maybe 71 years old but you make me feel young again with this hobby. Keep up the good vids. Later.
In my canadian Whitman books, starting 2002, there are 2 mintages of each canadian cent. A regular cent, and a P cent. Which is a mint mark under her head on the obverse. So you'll need more than just the date on the newer ones.
Never seen a box from Canada
I actually wish that I wouldn't have seen this video. I have a box coming. LOL
I can't wait for part two!!!
As a Canadian I’ve been waiting for this!
VERY COOL VID!!
How long are you going to torture us till the next vid of Canada Cent Hunt??? 😉😉
Can't wait to see the video!!!
Have a GREAT Day!!!
Canadian here, to us American coins aren’t considered foreign, we usually call them American. I guess you can sorta see how familiar we are to American currency based on how many American pennies are in those rolls. I can definitely say that the vast majority of American coins are pennies in Canada. So much so it isn’t a surprise.
I really enjoyed this video, living close to the Canadian Boarder I find a lot of Canadian cents in my rolls especially in the customer wrapped rolls. Thank you for sharing
Canadian here. Most people I hear refer to U.S. coins found in circulation as American. As for other foreign coins, if the name of the country is obvious we'll often just call it British, Australian, Mexican Peso etc.
I’ve never clicked on a video so fast. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one of those boxes
Edit: I’d say we don’t consider American to be foreign, probably just because of how common all denominations are in our change
Nice!! Love Canadian pennies!! I have over 100 young heads and about 20 king George pennies!! Enjoyed the hunt!! Don’t have King George the 5th though!
What a great twist to the normal American hunts. Looking forward to seeing what you pull out of the upcoming rolls.
Dude, this is a great series idea. this is already very interesting. im concerned about the US pennies being so common, but those foreigns are cool. From this Americans perspective, i call canadian coins just that, canadian. in my mind they are semi foreign. their coins are up to the quarter basically the same size, made from garbage metals but the same size.
I have found one King George the 5th in a hunt. Keep in mind I live in Wyoming. It was pretty crazy
Man, the benefit of living in northern michigan. I get a minimum of 25 Canadians a penny box. My best was nearly $2.50. Date is no object either, king george vi - young head Elizabeth consistently.
We should petition the Canadian government to renew the production of pennies!
Yes we should 😆
@@QuinsCoins Did they not get rid of it for a good reason though.
@Eli Wilson it's just an inside joke
Dude canada melts any and everything. Lol Their old silver is worth buying too. Apparently theirs a 1921 half or full dollar that's worth a lot because they chose to melt all that were sitting in stock to make more dollars... it's crazy
I’m 12 I put boxes of pennies on my Christmas list
Well I hope you get it!
My parents think I’m weird
check out my channel, I am giving away pennies. Trevour Samuda collections
Lol
my parents think im wierd. im 8 and i have a 100 gram guiger silver bar from apmex on my christmas list.
edit: i dont remember how to spell wierd so im just gonna go with it.
Great video quintet, I was wondering where you bought the penny boxes
Seen 25,10,5 cent but never seen pennies or had them. Wow!
Great video as always
I love your Canadian hunt bro I gotta get one of those box's wish you would shared where you got your box of Canadians
WOW, what an awesome find! I just posted a video on my channel of me hunting a box of canadian cents as well. It's quite a coincidence that we both ended up searching through a box of canadian cents! It's such a shame they are so hard to come by, so i'm really glad you could secure a box. I went to Canada this summer and it took me a good 4 or 5 tries before I could find an institution that wanted to sell me a box of them. Nice finds so far, and I can't wait to see what else you find!
Just watched. Love it. I pick all my Canada’s out also still need a 09-08- 07. Wondering if you could help me out.
2nd box coming ! COOL !!
HEY QUINS COINS YOU ARE A GREAT COIN GUY SEARCHER.I AM FEEL SO GLAD WITH YOUR TIPS THANKS A LOT DEAR QUINS COINS😊👍❤🇺🇸
Super excited you got that box
So far it resembles a typical Canadian penny hunt
Lot of American .. usually around 30% +/-
(I have done very well completing my American collection )
When I sent you those rolls a whole back I took out all the American pennies and replace them cause there were alot :)
Looking forward to seeing what you find
Where can I get these boxes? Man I’ve looked all over the place. And I’m not sure if the Canadian banks have anything good left in circulation
I've never seen a Canadian hunt
Evan Yielding me neither!!
...until now :D
Quin's Coins 😀😁
That’s like my dream
Very fun Ryan! Shoot a link for one of those boxes.
I went on vacation in a place called sechelt in British Colombia (I’m from Alberta). The town is connected by land to the mainland, but there are no roads back to everywhere else, so it is isolated. The only way to get back is by boat. This was about a year ago when I was 14. I walked to all of the banks in town and bought 250 dollars in Canadian pennies. About 3/4 of the coins were in bank bags. The banks were so willing to give them to me, because of how expensive it is to send them back by boat. There was also a couple of rolls (2 or 3) which seemed to be a collection dump with all of them either George’s v, or George vi.There was also a full roll of uk pennies. I found it interesting that over 50 percent of the pennies where actually copper (I always separate those). Back home the banks will always save pennies for me but usually it’s not over 20 dollars. I’ve never actually searched American pennies, but I have found about 9 or 10 over 100 years old in Canada.
If you are in Canada
Just go to any bank and ask
About 60% of the time the have them and usually will sell them to you
I just picked up 75$ the other day
And almost as many as I have time to search :) 👍👍
Which part of Canada are you in? I have heard from multiple Canadians who have tried what you just described and failed at every bank they tried. I am wondering if it depends on which area you live in
Andrew Derksen I’ve asked many banks and the answer was always no
I live near Vancouver
The credit unions are the best
Bank of Montreal and TD are usually really good
There just happy to get rid of them :)
It costs banks more to ship them then the 25$ face value
It also relays on relationship and teller interest. :)
I put up a few videos a while back
However no one probably ever even came across them lol
I probably find more wheats then the equivalent Canadian years ...on average
th-cam.com/video/AVwYV_jzwfA/w-d-xo.html
Same for me here in Calgary.
I can imagine you know that the last couple years have a couple varieties. Gotta love hunting in Michigan
Note from Canada - Look for magnetic and non magnetic coins in the last couple years plus the 2006 varieties. There’s also a couple cool errors in the late 70’s and mid 60’s. Most are fairly easy to find.
I have SO many of these Canadian pennies in my collection and I don't know why they put the pennies out of circulation and I found these pennies in an old change bank I searched througb
I have the entire Canadian penny collection back to 1858, including most of the varieties. My Geo. 6th and Elizabeth sets are in ms.red.I also have the 53 thru 55 in both sf and nsf varieties.Along with this, and have all of the provincial pennies and half pennies, and most of the tokens from1910 to 1934.
Wow, good stuff!!
man I can sell you all my canadian cents for $0.03 each!
VERY IMPORTANT. Canadian pennies in the 21st century can be separated by more than just the date. You should always check the obverse under the queen for a mark that could either be a P or the RCM logo. coins from 2007-2012 where made in 2 varieties, steel and zinc. So it is also important to over these coins with a magnet. Some varieties of these can be rare and valuable.
I’ve always wanted a king George the 5th.
They are pretty cool! I hope you find one some day!
Me too!
Quin's Coins I have found 3-4 King George the 6th. But never a KG the 5th
@Hunter Ansorge It wasn’t a roast. 😂
When will you do quarters and dimes and nickels and half dollar's
"The forbidden denomination"
Cool my friend 😀
Keep a look out for certain dates that are rare some are zinc and not steel
Good call! I am keeping all of the coins from this box anyway. It's not like there's a bank in the U.S. that I can return them to anyway lol
Happy Hunting Everyone 🇳🇿
happy hunting!!
Can you tell me where you get your collection albums from?
I agree i live in Canada and have been looking for 1 cent boxes for a long time
Nice, I think I will buy a box of Canadian cents now.
It’s pretty common to find wheat pennies in Canadian boxes, lol.
Where did you get that cent album? I have been looking for a really long time and can not find any in a solid leather looking album?!!?!?
the penny book you got does not have all of the coins because it has no magnetic and non-magnetic coins separating.
Wow Quin! That's a good score! The most I've ever gotten of Canadian pennies was a few customer rolls of them. I think it's always cool to have and hunt a box of Canadian pennies especially since they were put out of circulation. I'm curious, what are you going to do with those Canadian pennies?
It's it easier to find older Canadian pennies in Canadian rolls.
17:33 It is Korean.
i have a 25 box filled with unsearched coppers only... im pretty proud of it lol
That's definitely a South Korean coin. My Hangul reading is very new, but the word on the right side of building is "Won", on the left is probably a number. On the other side it says, "Hangookun Haeng". Hangook = Korean. Un is a grammatical ending, Haeng I'm not sure the meaning of.
Where did you get the box cut I want to buy a box or 2
I do not miss the penny at all. I think that the nickel and dine should be next. For sure. Regards Chucky from Alberta
It doesn't say on your collection book but there is 5 different types of 2003 Canadian pennies; diadem with and without a P, diadem with a P non-magnetic and crowned with and without a P
If Canadian pennies were melted when returned to the mint were the US cents sorted or were they too melted.
Quin we live in Ann arbor and wonder if you can answer a question. For us. How do you get a box of Canadian coins
Ebay
just as exciting as hunting us pennies...
As a canadian I can say american coins here we just treat them the same its so common to see them Especially where I am in Southern Ontario
for 2007 to2012 there are zinc plated cents and steel plated cents and some rare varities for 2006 the error variety
What is the book you are using for this hunt
Ummmm I have bags of them and rolls of 1969 pennies from the bank.... how do I flip them?
I had to regroup on My Canadian Penny collection 2003 to 2009 they made zink and steel in these years 2003 there are two different queens
Use a magnet
I don't know anything about Canadian pennies but I do collect old American pennies I even have a couple Indian Head pennies from 1902 and a couple steel pennies from 1943 and lots of wheat pennies from diferent years I think the oldest wheat penny I have is from 1917 I would really like to get at least one each from 1909-1959
How much did that book cost?? Don't see that kind to often!!
There are 2003s with both types of queen portraits.
In customer wrapped rolls in Canada you find loads of American coins
Some cooins are rare depending oon weight !!$$
Good luck
Thanks! :D
So u tell me it's gonna be hard for me to find a king George the 6th coin
Six minutes in, I couldn’t hear the phrase “go ahead” one more time.
Yea boy
17:29 It is Korean. Great video!
I bought a box of these from the same place as you bought yours. Fortunately, my box contained a better selection of coins.
J Lee Nice!!
How do you know where he bought his?
Banks still store and give you boxes as long as you promise to bring em back.
I’ve never found a bank that won’t let me search pennies.
Oh, that is 10₩ korean coin
I consider American coins foreign because they’re not my country’s currency, any coin that’s not my country’s currency is considered a foreign coin to me.
did you ever found a 1916 canadian pennie ?
and you will find a lot of the 1999 1 cent Canadian because there were 1,000,000,000 minted
I'm from Canada and I call US pennies, American coins
You lucky bastard... (I’m Canadian). I just call American pennies just American pennies. Not really foreign
You mentioned the Canadian government pulling out pennies to recycle them. Given how many American pennies you found within those five rolls, I wonder how the Canadian government responds to such a high volume. Would the destruction of so many American coins be acceptable? Perhaps there are methods in place to reduce overhead filtering tasks.
Your 2011 is from a proof like set.
I have. 8 1920 To. 1935 old Canadian penny
How many wheat cents do you have?? Approximately? If you even know!!
Hard to say...definitely in the hundreds, possibly in the thousands!
Quin's Coins Nice!
I got a 3 cent nickel in a roll 1873
Pre 1996 can pennies are 98% copper
Is a 1921 Canadian Penny rare?
Compared to all of the other Canadian small cents, yes they are! That is a second year coin you have!
@@QuinsCoins cool thanks, love the video!
I don't count them as foreign.
Are you looking for bird cents to?
i accually dont consider americian forein coins because they are in so close proximity
Imagine finding a wheat penny in the box
HolaSoyAlejandro I’ve found multiple in the same box in Canada lol!
american coins are easy to find in canada
people don't even consider them forein thats why you found alot of them
I think those coins have been gone through. Too bad.
I don't actually think so! They had a seal on them from the bank!
Which is rare coin?
You should knock the video time closer to 15 minutes
Hi
