The closest I've ever seen to something like that really happening was about 25 years ago when my father brought home 3 rolls of nickels from the bank to search. They contained nothing, but Buffalo nickels a total of 120. The closest I ever came to something like that was in 2005 when I bought a roll of nickels in an antique store for $1.50 that was labelled old Jefferson Nickels. I figured no matter what was in it, it was worth it for less than face value. When I got it home I found I think about 5 V nickels including an 1888, 5 Buffalo's, 12 war nickels and the rest were 40's Jeffersons.
The zinc square coins of the Netherlands were minted to replace all the copper coins during the WW2. During the war, the Nazi's took all the copper coins from our ancestors to melt them into bullets. My granny told me that all her coins were taken away from here and believe it or not, 1 cent was worth something by that time.
Got 1907, imagine a 112 year old nickle. And that got you a loaf of bread A pint of milk, some jerky, and flower. Carefully wrapped and carried to your wagon with the trusted hands of a clerk and a thank you. ( My grand mother's memwars) tks

As a child we drove into findlay ohio on a Saturday. Dad gave each a 25cent coin. We went to the Harris theater on main St. The quarter was split up as ten cent at the booth then pop corn for five cents. (Real butter), a candy bar for five cents, and a pack of gummysbears for the last five. Then we would walk to the hotel.and go to church the next morning. The Studebaker took 2 dollars and the hotel was eight. And tiythings at the church was ten percent. That is a slice of my life circa 1955. Good life to you. And keep your memory's. Very unusual, Quin. Most banks break open home-rolled coins because there's always a grifter out there trying to run a petty scam. The teller will give the rolled coins to an assistant to unroll and dump into a counting machine. After the machine tallies the lot the teller will return the same amount plus any Canadian or foreign coins. You were very lucky to get them straight from the original source, very lucky indeed. Good job!

That last roll is great. Some really nice Liberty's and a Shield Nickel! I once got a shield nickel in change from a vending machine, but couldn't read the date. Still it was cool. This happened about 1976.

I've literally had dreams about coming across coins like what you pulled out. Just totally random coins that are just unbelievable. Except you didn't wake up from your dream, it was real!!
When I was about half way through the video I was in disbelief. The coins that you were finding, like the sheild nickel ender, just blew my mind. NO ONE that I know of has ever found a shield nickel in circulation on youtube. Then nearing the end of the video I concluded that it had to be some sort of joke, I scrolled down and I seen the date April 1st. April Fools, I should have guessed immediately. Well played Quin!
