    What a door slammer from start to finish. IMSA is currently the best series alongside WEC for competitive racing. LMP2s doing silly things. The race leader wrecking out. And those final battles with hawksworth going full elbows out and that last battle between deletraz and bourdais. Absolutely smashing.

    Enjoying the longer in depth reports ty. This is the type of coverage I wanted as a kid in the 70s and 80s. Where you were lucky to find anything about sports car racing on TV or newspaper. Other than auto week, Even car mags had very little.

      Covering more series is all a question of how much time I have, right now I dedicate all of that time to focus on IMSA but would love to cover some WEC, GTWC and 24hr series if time ever allows!

    Talking about questionable driving towards the end, bourdais’ shenanigans with constantly rubbing up against the 40 were most certainly something worth mentioning.

    Great video, mate!
    Personally finally seeing Acura win was such a great moment! (Obvious bias)
    That Deletraz signing was an absolute moment of genius, how no one had any eyes on him (as far as we know) is crazy to me

    I was one of the 3% that did not think it was a good race. The safety car frequency and the overly aggressive driving standards are the reasons.

    You know whats the weirdest take with Sebring? That if they took away the bumps, it would be boring. I find that shocking, because there are mods and old games from before laser scanning was possible, and it still drew big entries in sim-races. Resurfacing would absolutely make it "not sebring", but i genuinely believe the races would be just as close and entertaining.

  • @evanhenry3940
    @evanhenry3940 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I had a lot of fun watching the race, but I do agree with the driving standards. Sometimes watching imsa/wec I feel like Im watching an iracing lobby. Thats hyperbole but yeah.

    Yeah, we are getting more and more International teams and drivers, and that means the mentality all attack all the time, and never give track position no matter how many laps you are down. The lest few hours were really good, but overall it was a crash-fest for sure. In his carrier, Sébastien Bourdais has done far worse than anything the 40 car did at the end of the race. He is a great guy off the track, and he's mellowed out more over the years. Action Express and Ferrari crash, I don't think the Ferrari was checking his mirrors, but Action Express didn't give any room or flash the lights or something else. Kegg's crash was inexcusable, the 6 car was a faster car, and faster cars are told not to mess up slower cars' races. And, yes I was annoyed by Rexy punting the Chevy, but that was GTD on GTD action.

    Interesting in highlighting the poor driving standards you omitted Hawksworth dive bombing the Corvette and almost taking their nose off and then running the Ferrari off track wide in T1 all with 20mins to go.

    I feel like the masses believe the #31 is the "dominant car", but when I go back and think about the races including last year. Which races did the #31 truly dominate?
    Wasn't their only race win gifted to them by the WTR and Penske crash at Sebring last year? I'd say it was more consistent than dominant.
    I don't get why the 31 was pushing so hard with so much time left in this race?
