Own two LPs and CD. First time when heard them was in 1987 when I was about 10 or 11 y.o. Since then Katz is my essential music that I’m going to move along with until my pity demise. Unfortunately, it was their the first and the last album. I don’t know what really went wrong that they discontinued , but this album is great like many other Swedish artists.
What we have heard, Katz and the record company wanted different things. (Don't know is this is true or not). Many of the songs were also recorded by other artists both before and after they appeared with Katz. (Bazykina Twins, Annica Boller, Filippa, Lili & Susie and of course Secret Service)
Not the same Katz on Spotify. That Pop band is more Violent Femmes kind of fare. Or Power Pop rather. Bands from Scandinavian regions in the 1980s typically aren’t well known enough to have a reissue on CD. Get a vinyl on Discogs. May be expensive and few in number but well worth it.
Other great, similar artists go well with this include: Laura Branigan, Hazell Dean, Psyche, Sandra (once married to Michael Cretu), Bananarama, Cyndi Lauper, Scala, and Martika. Kind of Italo-Disco, and make good dance songs. Livingston Fury is also a good choice, but are quite scarce in number, and can come a quite a cost. Really like this album by Katz, but less so on the 'scarce' in number fare.
