Thanks mate - really appreciate it! It wasn't meant to be a bowl but once I cut it and saw the spalting I knew I could't do anything else with it apart from keeping it simple and let the wood do its thing! This was my first time trying true bead work - I saw a recent video by Richard Raffan on his beaded pot and thought I'd give it a go......
Thank you! Yes, I made friends with a local arborist who drops me off bits of wood occasionally that he thinks I'd like to turn. I had this sitting in my garage for the last 6 months in a dampish corner to help get the spalting going. Wasn't expecting to turn out quite so nice. I have another bit sitting there so can't wait to turn that too. 😀
Thanks for sharing. Beautiful piece. Full View and Like 👍
Many thanks 🙏
Nice one. Good to see you got back to the lathe for the weekend.
Yep finally managed to find a bit of time to get back on the horse so to speak!
Love the spalting on that! 👏🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
This wood is stunning, love the pattern and the beading you added. I never think about doing beading. Great work!

Love the bowl. Was the wood sourced locally? I’ve never turned splatted wood, would love to give it a go. Cheers from the far south coast NSW
