I can imagine that the Bangalore mystery is set in an auto-dial call center. A phone jockey is found dead and the detective realizes that two billion people have a motive.
You two are so fun to watch! Great repartee. I’m going to get both of those pacific coast mysteries The Last Song Bird and Cinnamon Girl, they sound terrific!
Mysteries! Yea! The very best escapist, comfort reads. Anna Lee Huber books are good! You should try The Anatomist's Wife. Thank you for the video to please the masses - lol.
I've watched a number of those old Philo Vance films with William Powell, very stylish but not that involved. William Powell ditched Philo when he hit his stride with Myrna Loy in the classic Thin Man films as Nick and Nora Charles in the 1930's and 1940's.
I decided to re-read Agatha Christie, missing out her post-war work, which is snobbish and creaky. What I had forgotten was that her 1920s work was full of creaky snobbish dialogue as well. Still, by reading e-books at least I didn't pay for them! My problem with modern historical fiction is that so few authors bother to research the period they are writing in. As a PSA - Scotland Yard did not exist in the Georgian era! My forays into modern historical romances has mostly driven me mad with modern characters and attitudes being shoehorned into a period where a woman would literally have been locked up for such behaviours. One blurb I read recently featured the hilariously named Duke of Cromwell. 😅
Love the banter between you guys. Gotta catch up on all the episodes I’ve missed!
Such a good show! I was smiling and laughing through the entire video.
Why thank you!

Write that, will ya'? I'd read the hell out of a book like that!

The Last Song Bird is next up for me as well. Quite the ringing endorsement from 'The King of All Book Critics!'

I'm used to the masses chasing me down with pitchforks and torches so your comment is a pleasant change of pace!

He was nothing if not dapper! But you're right, those films are mostly B-movie fodder - fun but highly disposable.
