    • @WrexShepard
      @WrexShepard 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most print failures have more to do with improper set up and slicer settings unless something is mechanically wrong with the printer. Prusas are dialed in from the factory though so they're definitely more reliable out of the box. With a prusa you can trust that the slicer profiles and firmware they give you is already tuned properly.
      I bet if someone set up 1100 Ender 3 printers straight out the box and started them printing you'd probably see a much higher failure rate though, so it's still impressive as hell. I wish I could afford a prusa, but I'm more of a "buy a cheap printer and soup it up to be better than a prusa" type of guy.

      not to crap on Josef's work but thats no feat at all, i have a couple mendels of my own design and they also run 24/7 no problem. And they are way more silent than those i3 because i use bushings instead of ball bearings. Prusa should have switched to bushings a while back.

    • @chibiebil
      @chibiebil 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@laharl2k you are kidding right? I mean bearings are not more expensive just for fun, they are better, less tolerance, easier to use. Also, if you design is so genius, why not make a company and sell it, and if you have such a urge to comment this, why not show something instead of just talking.

    • @laharl2k
      @laharl2k 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @chibiebil
      Sure ball bearings are better, if you buy the ones that cost more than the printer itself......along with the special smooth rods they require. Oh, and forget about using 3d printed parts because those bearings have such small tolerances you would not be able to assemble them in one of those i3 printers because they would jam because of the missalingment.......
      Prusa isnt using top quality ones, you cant with 3d printed parts, you have +-200um from the 3d printer, it wouldnt make sense to use +-5um ball bearings. The ones prusa uses are better than the super cheat 1 buck chinese bearings but still not as good as the really high quaility bearings used in industrial aplications.
      And about making a company, i already have one, so aside from you not knowing shit and being arrogant, I already beat you to it. Go read about machines before trying to correct someone on the internet.

    • @WrexShepard
      @WrexShepard 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@laharl2k Literally a shitty ender 3 will run 24/7 with no problem lol. You don't need tiny tolerance bearings with a 3d printer indeed. Hell, the openbuilds v-slot extrusions and rollers are probably my favorite way to do it. It's cheap and it works well and is sturdy and adjustable. I feel like linear bearings and rods are actually a lot more prone to slop and noise. The only shitty part about v-slots is that the wheels develop flat spots if they're too tight, but that can be fixed somewhat with polycarbonate wheels, although those tend to shatter instead of smush down like the POM ones.
