I have a Baofeng UV-18 pro max, a Quansheng K5 (8) with fw IJV, a Radtel RT470X and a Tidradio H3. I paid half the price for the Quansheng and it has the unique possibility of modded firmware that actually improves the radio. But, if I had to keep just one of these little radios, I'd choose the H3. It's a mixture of aesthetics, solid construction, features, excellent battery life and superior screen. And even in TX, I got better results even than Baofeng, theoretically with twice the power. If the company, instead of continuously churning out new models as Baofeng does, follows with updates what it does, Tidradio will be the manufacturer to be recommended among those that produce cheap but well-made radios.
My 1st H3 went out in flames while charging, replacement radio doesn't transmit at all. TID refusing to send the replacement, advising me to put the battery of replacement radio to 1st radio (one that burned out in flames). Tragi-Comedy...
Great review, and glad to hear the company listens and makes corrections! Your discount code didn't work, and although I could e gotten it cheaper from "that one big online store," I did go ahead and order direct from Tidradio. I'm making the assumption that I'm likely to get a more recent product with issues resolved direct from the manufacturer. Thanks again!
Tidradio is great with communication. Every issue I have had with my H8's had been addressed within a few hours. My 2 wishes for these radios 1) Channel knob! I don't need or WANT a flashlight! I do want a channel knob especially for gloved hands! 2) The Bluetooth to be more useful. Programming is great, but it would rally be nice to sync a BT mic or headset. I will definitely be picking one of these up. I am one who generally prefers a more hefty radio. But this will be great when more discretion is called for.
I'm glad to see a follow-up on the H3. I used your code to buy my H8. I almost went with the H3 but decided that the H8 was a more vetted product at the time. I'll likely get an H3 when they go on sale on Amazon again. I bought two H8s from Tiradio direct and had a bad experience with both transactions. They have very slow shipping, even when you pay to expedite.
I am sorry you had issues with TID direct. Not sure about their shipping, but their customer service IS good. At least has proved to be so far. I think H3 is on Amazon right now on sale!! Check it out!
Great video - thanks for following up to your original. I have heard conflicting things about the power output on 220 MHz. Have you tested it on 220? I think I am one step closer to buying this radio - lots of nice features Have a great day, 73 Jon
Not that its not easy to find but you should condone unlock cus if shtf or your in a survival situation the fcc no longer matters.. got the crystal arriving tmoro..! Awsome to know about the duel lights for the channels havnt seen any1 else talk about that.. thank you..
TD H3 comes in two models, GMRS and HAM. Being on the GMRS version we can boot to HAM, why two versions? Everything I have read and watched on TH-cam I do not see any difference between both versions. Am I missing something? Overall, I am pleased with my GMRS version. Also, as with you their support is excellent.
Hello sir, nice update video! I have 2 of the H3 for .e and my son and i am using it to tx and rx in FRS on the normal mode. I am having an issue with receiving noaa whether chanels on normal mode. I dont get nothing... Fm mode is working flawless. Do you happen to know what the problem is? And just a heads up you can't do any firmware updates with the usb c you will need the 2 prong cable to do so.. I really like the H3 as well Thanks in advance
Thanks for the good review. I am a new subscriber to your channel. Do you have a video on how to name the channels on the H3? I assume this is in the Tidradio progarm or Chirp thank you again

Loved it , however I got the package with 1 radio and 2 batts. 1 battery was dead on receive, working with customer service , email as the card number is always busy. Gave them my amazon order number and they were going to send me a new battery, cool. Radio working fine , turned it off , woke up it said kill all, hard return\
Hmmm ... I have three of them with no issues .... What can I say. I can only say that Tidradio customer service is pretty good. I am not in any way connected to them, but they have shown to be quite responsive (at least by email)
@@fittoat9261Thank you. Also, can it display both frequency and channel name at the same time? I see both channel name and frequency in your video, but I couldn't tell if you were showing info for a single channel or two separate channels...

Right up front you tell people “I’m not going to show you how, I don’t agree with,” etc. Expressing such an authoritarian view of the comms world as if it is up to you to judge and police the airwaves. The radio is purchased, and is meant to be that way approved by the FCC so the owner, him or herself can decide, according to their license(s) to either only use as a ham, gmrs or both radio. As always it is up to the user, at least in a free country, to use responsibly. But for convenience sake it is a more versatile radio, no different than if the purchaser bought two radios.

Thank you ... I will pick one up and EDC the "GMRS" version just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the info! As for NOAA, I am not sure ... reach out to Tidradio support, they are very good at responding!
👏Ótimo custo benefício o tidradio 👏
can I clone from the TD-H8 radio to the H3?
Yes you can using CHIRP or ODMAster app!
Very good review. Isn't it refreshing to actually get all the bells and whistles requested by the end user?
Absolutely!! And TID has been very responsive so far

I hope that you give us a good review of the Baofeng UV-18 Pro Max. Thanks in advance.
I don't know if I will get it ! Most of these models are NOT actually sanctioned or sold by Baofeng!!!
I wonder if the Tidradio software that can change wattage on the TD H8 will work on the TD H3
That is an interesting question!! I am not sure I want to try that. If YOU do, please post and let us know!

Does it have vox so that it can work without push to talk?
Yes it does!
What's the character limit for channel name?
Either 6 or 7, I don’t remember, I’ll check later and get back to you!
