It’s not two people juxtaposed, it is everything, good and bad, yin and yang, male and female. When you think of something as “ the other” or separate from the self, that is the hindrance of communication. It is all one system, for one can not be without the other.
Thank you, any suggestions for future reactions? Keep in mind, I have heard many Tool songs before, and a lot of these videos shall be similar to this one, a dissection of the lyrics ect.
If I'm not mistaken you've heard that one before. Still it was interesting to see your own interpretation. You don't have to stick to Tool only - explore. As for Tool next one - The Grudge.
@@flaq666 Yes, I have decided to begin saying at the start of every video that I listened to the song a few times before the video so my interpretation could be complete. These videos are my dissection of the lyrics and music, and how they relate to me. Tool is a band which is so complex that you can hear a song a hundred times and yet still be learning new things about it.
Your body is a temple and the two halves of your brain have a fundamental differing. The left hemisphere deals in logic, reason, and the known. The right hemisphere deals in the unknown, intuition, chaos. The two halves are supposed brothers, supposed lovers, but they are fundamentally different. The pineal gland, or third eye, is the only part of the brain not halved. It is an atrophied photo-receptor, and the use of hallucinogens allows one to bring the two halves together as one. Each half wants to be in control but to find balance in your mind you need them to square off against each other, and not allow either to dominate the other. To associate some lyrics with the pineal gland, 'Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion between supposed lovers. Between supposed brothers.'
@@cranboogie Check my lyric dissections in the playlist section of my channel. I have a different channel where I post mostly about things which interest me, but it got a following from lovers of table-top rpgs. I posted a few tool lyric dissection videos there, than after some consideration decided to make a separate channel for it. The discovery of APC and Puscifer incited this decision because I had heard nothing by them. My point in bringing all this up is, I have read the lyrics of Lateralus and done extensive research on the song, as it may be my favorite song of all time. If your video is on the Golden Ratio, I already learned and loved that aspect of the incredible song:) I talk about it in my lyrical dissection of Lateralus.
Late on the comment but with your apparent intelligence and appreciation of music you will love Tool. Maynard (lead vocals) and the band actually use the Fibonacci sequence for musical time. Actually very cerebral and mathematical
Tool is great! I'm all in! (I'm glad you've evolved how you do your reactions. I like the way you do them now, much more.) Again, not an indictment, merely an observation. 😉 💜💫✌🏼🎵
Even if I've heard it before, I still will react to the music on a deeper level and the exact lyrics which I likely didn't know before. Lateralus and Invincible are my next ones then, thank you for the suggestion my Warrior friend:)
Fair warning. Tool is about to ruin music for you... your bar is about to be set higher than ever. More please. Let's start this guy out with H. or the patient or jimmy or all the other "underrated" songs.
Success = about 25% less pausing while not stopping the thorough commentary. Way too many awesome breakdowns and transitions to pause soo much, you're ultimately missing out on the whole package of these songs. Don't misunderstand, continue the thorough commentary, there are many reaction channels that have found the balance.
@@DiconDissectionalReactions And I would just say, Tool fans have dissected the lyrics endlessly, and what we really want to see is you enjoying the crazy musical breakdowns that are emotionally overwhelming. So if you pause 3 or 4 times during 1 lengthy buildup, you're completely missing out on that linear experience. From there you sort of feel the rhythm and pause after those moments end, and then go back and dissect a few lines of lyric. And I have no idea what "we are legion" means.
@@nickson1431 Again, thank you for the advice! My lyrical dissections are based entirely on how I relate the song to myself, not whatever the band may or may not have intended the song to mean. Second, I have heard many Tool songs before, which is why I take my time with going over the nuances of the vocals and lyrics. I guess my point is, I'm not missing anything, and while I appreciate the feedback, thus far I've gotten positive comments and will not be changing the way I make videos based on "other reaction channels" who do things a certain way. I make the videos I myself would want to see:) And on my other channel, I call my small fanbase the Legion because we are a collective consciousness and I am their voice. We are Legion is my "catchphrase" you could say. I got into Tool with FI, and have been absolutely loving everything I've heard since. Certain songs made my cry or think extremely deeply on how I need to change as a human being. Any suggestions as to what songs I should do next?
@@DiconDissectionalReactions Hey man, there is certainly a lane for everyone. And at the end of the day I would hope you'd do it the way it was most satisfying for yourself as you're putting the time and energy to create the vids while I just click and then comment.
