    My LDL is 305, and I'm ok with that
    My CAC scan score is zero. I'm thrilled about that.
    I have refused statin drugs for many years. I am happy to give big pharma the middle finger.
    I fired my doctor. He wasn't thrilled about that.

      @Adam Craig He is advocate of THERAPEUTIC fish oil supplementation over 3000mgs a day (usually 10 or more regular fish oil capsules per DAY taken morning and evening. It is KEY to the lifechanges that make you healthy. If you eat a lot of salmon or other fish high in fish oil, probably not so much. I take 6 fish oil gels every morning and skip the evening dose and next morning dose when I have 8-12 oz of salmon usually 3 times a week.

    The good doctor forgot one of the most important 'ways', i.e. not just what you eat but *when* you eat. 'Intermittent fasting' (read: time-restricted feeding; try for eating only within a 7 to 8 hr window)...along with occasional longer fasting, e.g. 1 to 3...or more days.

    • @jerseytony1
      @jerseytony1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      RIGHT Markus.. He forgot the most important info.. Mediterranean diets are best... I have proof of friends in Italy where they live to 100 on a regular basis..

    • @jh4675
      @jh4675 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jerseytony1 Many OTHER factors at play with those in Italy...not just the diet! Mediterranean diets were rated best when compared to SAD (Standard American Diets) when no legitimate low carb diets (under 50g net carbs/day) were included in the testing. Never have they used legitimate low carb diets in these clinical trials...always using higher carbs than all keto and low carb followers and scientists consider appropriate. So better than bad diet. But definitely NOT the best if you include healthy keto or definitive low carb like Wheat Belly.

    Difficult to know who to believe these days. Doctors like Esselstyn, McDougall, Barnard, McGregor, Ornish, and Campbell promote whole food plant based diets that encourage high carb low fat in which whole grains including wheat is encouraged. However, they say ingestion of oils, animal proteins, and dairy affect endothelial cells that line our arteries, etc. They all agree that statins are useless so at least that's something in common with this video. Frustrating when you get conflicting messages from "experts" making it difficult to decide what approach to take. My two cents.

      pritikins killed himself while he was suffering from leukemia. You need saturated fat and ldl to fight cancer and infections. watch paul mason and cholesterol lectures from low carb from under. these vegans are missing proteins and fat. they have mental issues and sarcopenia. vegetarian diet is better with saturated fats and cholesterols from animals. Dr Davis is right. You can get the best of both worlds. You can live suboptimal long but with all the issues of malnutrition and sarcopenia and dementia. Processed vegan food is more toxic than meat. Be aware of plant toxins on oxalate and lectin. Watch Sally Norton and Dr Gundry. Literatures on that is ample. For example Moringa reduces fertility in males by knocking out testosterone. It is good for hair loss but very bad for men who want have strong muscles and fertility. Plants are not all good.

    • @robertyang2864
      @robertyang2864 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      These drs you mentioned don't have real randomized controlled studies to prove anything. They have uncontrolled epid studies. The real one is Minnesota Coronary Study. Look it up. Plan oil is toxic and increases death. Dr Davis is correct. 9431 patients randomized to corn oil with margarine vs SAD with some margarine. That corn oil increases death by 22% for every 30 point drop in cholesterols. Corn oil drops cholesterols but kills more for more drops.

Also had all the other smaller daily side effects of Statins, which litterally klilled my quality of life. I promise, I will never take that poison anymore.

    alot if the deaths from heart attacks are because the patient doesn't know about heart. CT scan and the doc DOESNT even mentions it and prescribes a pill to lower B.P. and later in short time BOOM! heart attack ! because didn't get heart C.T. scan! ( my brother in law 64 yrs old . yes he died ) your prumary doctor ONLY treats symptoms not cause! and that can find you DEAD! My heart doctor ( i had valve replacement four yrs ago ) didnt mention heart C.T. scan and when i asked he said theres nothing here to indicate one is needed , three weeks later after treadmill 45 minutes cold sweat, couldn't breath , went to E.R. got heart C.T. scan and had two 50% blocked arteries ! doc gave me lipitor and beta blocker after nine days joint pain , muscle pain. number 9 on pain scale so stopped and told doc iam not gonna use a staton again . changing my diet and more vitamins and more exercise . iam 70 yrs old. and want to get more old 😜😜

    I recently mixed up a batch of Dr. Davis' magnesium juice. Went to local grocery, got an 89 cent 2 liter bottle of house brand seltzer water, a 4 buck milk of magnesia (house brand, free of hypochlorite), poured 2/3 capful into water, drink some in morn and eve. A week later, had BP checked, and instead of usual 130-140 over 90, it was like 100 over 65. Don't know if the magnesium juice caused that, but I'm sticking with it. Tested again yesterday at clinic at 120/80...

    William Davis please clarify Whats the different Cholesterol Plaque & Calcium deposit ?

    • @YouTuber-ep5xx
      @YouTuber-ep5xx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mahi, I believe the fatty plaque builds up in the arterial wall first (in a reparative capacity, to repair damage such as lesions perhaps caused by consumption of carbs/sugars), and then over time the fatty plaque deposits calcify. It is this calcification that shows up on a CT scan. Plaque itself does not show in an scan/xray, but the calcification in the plaque does, thus revealing the presence of the plaques. So the calcification is of interest primarily sinces it reveals the presence of the plaques.

The Dr prescribed clopidogrel 75mg, carvedilol 12.5 mg twice a day, atorvastatin 40mg at bedtime. And 1 low dose aspirin. I also placed myself on magnesium 120mg once a day. I also have blood sugar readings as high as 170 and down to about 130. I cant seem to break the high readings. My carbs are cut to under 15g. What else can I do? I'm thinking these prescribed drugs are keeping my readings up. Hey Horsein - sorry to hear that. I suggest learning all you can about Keto and Intermittent Fasting by following and watching YT videos from Dr. Eric Berg - he has several thousand on his YT channel. This will make sure you're doing it correctly as well as doing IF correctly. This will do wonders for lowering your insulin and blood sugar levels. Worked for me and learned a lot.

    • @someguy43210
      @someguy43210 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You will need a qualified doctor to help with your situation, preferably a naturopath or doctor of functional medicine, not a drug pusher. All of those prescription drugs are killing you. Statin will lead to muscle atrophy and memory loss, coupled with diabetes will lead to Alzheimer. There are tons of information showing the harm of statin online, it's literally just a search away. If you found this video surely you can find something on statin. The entire premise on how it work to supposing improve 'cholesterol' is based on flawed science. Don't bother trying to change the mind of person who prescribed it to you, they already know it, but they have a different incentive to why they prescribe it, you can find out by asking what car they're driving.
      A healthy diet will go a long way to improve your condition, paleo or keto take your pick. Although excess protein consumption will lead to insulin resistance. Cut out carb, but put back fiber rich vegetables to feed your gut bacteria, the fiber is also important to bind toxin to help eliminate them. Getting adequate nutrients and eventually fixing your gut health in the long term will help stabilize blood sugar.
      Magnesium is very important so it's good you're taking it, but it's important to take a high bioavailable form that isn't made with (ironically) magnesium stearate and other additives that will lower the absorption.

      Horsein. nutranuva is right , dont lose hope , lowering your bad levels does not happen over night , sounds like you are doing the right things , but years of incorrect behaviour you did thinking you were doing the right thing takes months to change but it will happen , dont completely follow dr bergs diet as ive learned a almost total carnivore diet is better for you then massive veges a day . veges are pretty bad for you ! search carnivore diet and have just a little low carb veges with a high meat diet ! my wife had a massive blood pressure difference between left and right arm , but after 12 months of keto and IF they are getting closer , which means the arteries are clearing !

      @@upyours1256 thank you for the reply, at the most I eat about 1 cup to may maybe 1 cup in half of salad with blue cheese dressing. And then no more then 4 to 5 oz of meat. That is dinner, breakfast is either one or two scrambled eggs with one bacon. Last night I had halibut with butter and a cup of salad and this morning my bs was 201. Good grief! I am a coffee drinker and I use heavy cream. No sugars, no grains, no pasta. I really try to drink water but am not faithful in that area,. The last diet soda I have had was about 6 to 7 weeks ago. The attitudes of drs and the keto diet is something I have come not to mention. It's a shame one has to lie to their provider. Even at heart rehab it's a head shaker. Heart patients are tested for blood sugar and if you go below 100 they force a juice on you that is full of sugar just to bring up your numbers. They haven't tried that on me yet.

    Is coronary calcium scan same as CT heart scan?
    If not which one is better?
    Do you need to take beta blocker for the CT heart scan?
    I am confused.

    • @YouTuber-ep5xx
      @YouTuber-ep5xx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CT scan is done on a machine, roll you into it for the scan, takes 10 minutes, costs around $100 or so, radiation comparable to a mammogram (according to Mayo). Then, a doc reviews scan, calculates a score known as a coronary artery calcium score (CACS). It is a simple number. Zero is what you want. Anything above that means you have an issue. Higher number, bigger the issue/risk. Docs are loathe to prescribe a CT scan, but get your GP to write a scan up for you and pay cash. You should know your CACS.
      No, beta blocker has nothing to do with scan.

    • @TheBeautyanna
      @TheBeautyanna 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think they are the same! My husband had CAC scan and his is high, the Agatston score is 914 but what I found out the volume score is the real number which is 666, this was in June, immediately started Keto fasting lots of supplements and exercise, next year in June we will do another one, and none of doctors helped only info here on TH-cam! @Abdel-Ilah BENAHMED I think fruits are ok, whatever grows locally in your climate are the fruits you should eat. E.g if you live in Sweden, don't eat bananas. Fruits are also bigger and sweeter than they were before agriculture. Eat more veg than fruit. Fruit maybe every few days. My 2 cents.

    The only disagreement with you is on statins. Why? Not because of cholesterol, but because statins can help reduce cardiovascular inflammation. Some statins are much more effective than others. Please listen to a lecture by Dr. Ford Brewer on this subject.
