Our mobile phones have the same surveillance but we buy and use them regardless (Face ID data, fingerprint, geolocation, payment data, internet searches, all the apps that collect data and sell them to show you targeted ads)

I by no means hold a view which is biased against any nation although being born and raised in thr UK (I am currently 16) I am yet to understand why China is being portrayed as the only threat to privacy. It is common knowledge that GCHQ was swamped with that much covertly obtained data they could not process it (Source from Edward Snowden during an interview). In addition to this, I would like to ask what the use of CCTV is for it is incredibly expensive and with the vast majority of the population prioitising their phone over house keys as long as someone brings a phone with them you do not need any form of CCTV.

Installing CCTV cameras on streets is good because it doesn't add any more surveillance than the government already has on you with your phone. What is does change is it makes it easier to spot crimes, so it's a good change. Only downside is if they are from China then china could also get the information from them.

To understand what persecution really is you need to look at hard facts fm Pakistan & Afghanistan . The minority communities have been persecuted to the extent that their numbers are rapidly declining to lesser & lesser single digit percentages. In India they are flourishing with their numbers on a steady increase in double digit percentages
