Just to be clear, I love❤all of my VIRPIL controllers even though I make sometimes critical statements these are just my personal opinion. Therefore, this is not a review or how-to guide but rather just something I wanted to share. Hope it will satisfy some curiosity about this grip. Thanks for watching! 😀

Yeah, good point, but honestly for me it was eye opening though. I have a lot of Virpil stuff myself but I will now look into alternatives.
Like VPC that are literally half the cost for the same features or
Winwing that are much better in terms of engineering
For me I simply went to Virpil to keep my Thrustmaster grips. However, I exchanged these long ago now when I realized I didn't like those in terms of built or usability and features.
I am glad we're not just stuck with a single vendor anymore. Nothing better than solid competition. Right now it seems Virpil really needs to catch up or re-position their stuff a bit in terms of pricing.
My devices from them broke sooner than anticipated as well - just that I never opened it and expected screws straight into plastic or hot glue
      So thanks for doing this

Looks easy when you do it but I am pretty sure it's a lot of work. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I constantly find more content that I search from your channel specifically. Keep up the videos, I bet once you hit 1000 subs you will hit the algorithm more often.

I wanted to change out the mini stick, but now I am worried about getting the grip back together. Excellent video with lots of detailed shots, well done.

It really isn't that difficult, just a lot of work and time involved. Cleaning up the hot glue is the most time consuming part on it. Just make pictures every step on the way and you'll be fine. Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers

Thanks for showing the inside, it looks really well made! The spring you show that can be adjusted by picking a different hole what does it change?

    • @crashmetwice
      @crashmetwice  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, it is nicely made, Virpil does make excellent controllers. Very smart layout and using the PCB's as a structural element for buttons, wheel, and the flip switch is quite awesome engineering. The spring provides the tension to the flip trigger. Depending on the selected hole, it makes it harder or softer to depress the trigger. I think they did it because often springs vary in strength depending on sourcing and manufacturing, not actually something for the end user to mess with :) Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers

This is a fantastic video, thank you! I'm going to have to open mine up to repair the ministick and the din5 connector. Do you know what kind of connector is on the internal side of the din5? Looks like some form of jst.

Thank you for this video. I've been having issues with my out-of-warranty ALPHA twist grip not tracking consistently. The video is very detailed but the actual disassembly of the grip case and details of which screws / bolts need to be removed was very rapid and missing detail. Is there any chance you could post a diagram of which screws are necessary to remove to split open the case safely? Thanks again.

Hi. I am trying to repair the main 5 pin cable that attaches to the base. Can you tell me the name of the white connecting box that attaches to the board. Also what are the metal pin at the end of each cable the goes into the white connecting box. Basically I have stripped the end of the cable and need to replace the crimp.
    Thanks

Hi. I'm hoping you know the answer to this. But my cable connecting my Alfa stick to the based broken. Basically I want to know what connection is used at the end of the cable to connect to the board. What is the white block needed and what are the small metal clips at the end of the cable that go into the block called? Thanks in advance.
