  • Join us in a new series where we explore the FL springs, one of our favorite natural attractions in the Sunshine State. In this video, we head to Crystal River, home to the largest herd of manatees in the world between November and April.
Depending on weather, visitors are permitted to enter the crystal clear waters of Three Sisters Spring, where manatees seek refuge from the cold.
But more than just manatees call Three Sisters Spring home. Check out what we saw!

First video to convince me that manatees are indeed beautiful, especially after the awakening of the slumbering manatee.

Awesome footage! I started watching this yesterday and then work got busy so I had to stop halfway through, had the nautical theme music stuck in my head for the rest of the day lol

This video solidified our underwater trajectory! Go-pros are amazing tools, we look forward to showing you our up coming episode... Trent gets 3 feet away from a 7ft gator! It just swims right by!

Good job on the video. My Dad took me to this area and we got to swim with a group of manatees about 55 years ago. Brought back some good memories. The snake was a water mocassin by the way, but you probably know that. Looking forward to your next video!

Hey Bruce! We are glad that this resonated, it was such a fun adventure. The more time we spend at the springs the more we realize there are so many moccasins. In our next video we visit silver springs. Wait til you see the footage.. we got a new camera!

@@theswashbuckjournal3924 Looking forward to your next one. Deb enjoyed this one as well. Keep a keen eye out for those mocs. My best friend used to scuba dive many of the springs feeding the Suwannee and there would be moccasins attached to the bottom just hanging on to something with their mouth open. Generally in the actual river away from the spring heads. Kinda weird. Went to Silver Springs as a child and toured in the glass bottom boats. My main spring stomping grounds in my youth was Rock Springs and Wekiva Springs, Wekiva River and Econ River, well, besides the east coast beaches. Those springs aren't worth visiting today IMO.

@@user-qx3sg8xr1c I have been haunted by the idea of moccasins ever since I read your comment! We just posted our most recent video on Silver Springs.

@@theswashbuckjournal3924 Always have to be on the lookout for sure. I was canoeing the Econ back in the 80's with a friend and he almost got nailed by a moc that was laying on a low branch over the river.
