Thanks so much, Douglas. We always try to have a good time while making our videos and usually succeed! That's exciting to hear about your plans to move down here in 2023. We hope you love it as much as we do!
I’ve looked at a lot of videos trying to get a sense of the best way to enjoy this area for a first time visit. As usual you cover everything in one neat package.
This area can be a little tricky to plan. The first time we visited it was confusing! Three Sisters is the only springs area we have visited so far where there is no water access from land and no land access from water. So glad that our coverage was helpful :) thanks so much for watching!
can’t wait to be in St. Pete and all Florida west coast . Missing it sooooo much. London -UK- based here. Your videos are keeping me going so much until (fingers crossed) next Jan when I’ll take a sabbatical for 3 months. Thanks guys! Btw for that separate video of Dunedin with Breweries. I recommend ‘Cueni Brewing Co.’ The best :)
They really are fun. We love getting out on them. We also find that being higher up makes it much easier to spot things in the water (like manatees) than being closer to the water in a kayak or canoe.
Yes, a lot of people just think of beaches, Disney and "Florida Man" when they think of Florida. But it really does have so much more to offer if you get out and look for it!
Aww we are so happy to hear our videos have been helpful, there really are some great "staycation" options in Florida! Have you planned any local trips?
Im so happy I stumbled upon your videos. We love Florida, We come down once or twice every year and usually head to the Keys. We love the Keys. But now we will be doing some exploring to places weve never heard of. Thanks again and Best Regards from the Motor City! Please make a trip to Northern Michigan and discover Mackinac City, Mackinac Island, and the Mighty Mackinac Bridge. On your way up a must see is The Henry Ford in Dearborn. Henry Ford Village and Henry Ford Museum is an unbelievable treasure that youll never regret.
Hi Paul, we are happy you found our channel too, Florida is full of amazing places. It seems silly that we haven' t even been to the Keys...yet. We hope you enjoy exploring some new places during your next visit. Thanks for the Michigan suggestions, we have never been. I just googled Mackinac Island and the bridge, it does seem like an area we would enjoy :) That bridge is HUGE!
@@Explorcation longest suspension bridge in the world. The Grand Hotel on Macinac Island has the longest front porch. Whitefish Point, the pictured rocks, & the Soo Locks where you can watch the huge freighters of the Great Lakes come thru are all a must see. You can board & tour the "Valley Camp" freighter up there also. Gordon Lightfoot's classic song "The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" spotlights the great mystery of the sinking of that ship in Lake Superior. Happy Travels!
@@8corymix8 sounds like we wouldn't have trouble filling our days there! Skylar is a big Gordon Lightfoot fan but didn't know the wreck actually occurred in Lake Superior! Thanks for sharing. We hope you are having a great long weekend.
Seems like an amazing day! I haven't been able to stand up on a paddleboard successfully yet for more than a few minutes... maybe one day I'll figure out how. It was a beautiful spot to go for a swim too. Too bad the snorkel gear didn't work out well. At the end, the bloody Mary with pickle juice or moonshine sounds right up my alley!! And the camera laughing was too funny. You guys always seem to have so much fun!!!
Maybe when you visit FL you will have some opportunities to work on paddleboarding! We really love paddleboards because you can sit, kneel or stand (vs sitting in a kayak). The Bloody Pickle drink was reallly good, and the first time we had seen something like it! Thanks for watching :)
Haha jeez that did look like a rough day out on the water, really liked how the water improved as the day went on thankfully and good job on them for at least doing its part on trying to protect the wildlife. Glad you got to see one manatee before your day was out! We absolutely love chill places like the Tiki Bar and good call by Skylar for a bloody mary combo at the end!
We were really thankful that the water ended up being calmer on this trip too. I don't think we would have spotted the manatee if the waters were as rough as the first time we visited!
Aww, I'm so excited you got to see a manatee. That is so exciting! Such gentle giants! Looks like such a chill and relaxing day out! Aww, I love that! "When you laugh, the camera laughs with you." I think it creates a nice effect so laugh as much as you want Skylar!
Thanks, the manatee was one of the larger ones we have seen in the wild. They really are gentle giants. When we saw the camera laughing footage we knew we had to use it LOL Thanks for watching :)
Nice that the weather/waves weren't bad like last time, and you were able to paddle to the springs. OH MY GOODNESSS that manatee is SOOOOO cute. We would literally die if we saw one up close and personal like that. The tiki bar looks like a great spot to just chill out and have some drinks after an eventful day.
Yeah, on our first visit to Three Sisters, we were much more concerned about staying on our paddleboards than finding a manatee. But we were really fortunate with our manatee sighting on this trip.
Glad you had better luck with the weather this time and that you managed to see a manatee before you left! I loved the "keep one manatee apart" in the tiki bar 😄 This looked like a great day!
Our first visit really was rough. We are used to paddling in rough waters but that day we almost turned around. It was a much nicer and more leisurely paddle on this trip. Thanks so much for watching :)
Ahh this was such a beautiful day out, so pleased you finally found a manatee on the way back, great footage of him coming up for air too, they’re so gentle and calm ☺️ Love that the signs in the bar give social distancing in manatee measurements. Skylar looks set in that chair and not ready to leave! 🤣🤣
Paddleboard looks so fun! It's so unfortunate that the water isn't as clear due to all the activity. Water looks CHILLY!! HAHA. So cool that you spotted a MANATEE! Up close and Personal!! Definitely a very special experience. You found him with more booze and just loving life! So great to find him! Thanks for sharing guys
Yeah, it did clear up a little at the end, but we definitely want to come back at an unpopular time to get to experience the waters when they are undisturbed. Yup, if I ever can't find Skylar, it's usually my first move to head towards the booze 😂
Love your necklace by the way...I have one very similar! What a difference in the water from last time!! Ahhhh that looks so peaceful, the music suits the paddling scene so well! The water is so clear..looks beautiful! Never heard of a Manatee! They are massive but look so friendly haha!! Ahhhh what a lovely place to have dinner, looks so cool there! "Bloody pickle.." 😂😂😂
The manatees are so cute! We put in at Hunter Springs and paddled to the springs last November. The springs were absolutely gorgeous, but all of our manatee sightings were out in the bay. It was our first experience with them. Snorkeling with the manatee is a must do experience :D
Could not agree more. They are such huge, docile creatures. It's amazing the amount of comments we've gotten from people who didn't even know what manatees were.
Oh fun!! We have yet to hit this spring! Aren't the Manatee's so cook?! I just want to hug one lol 😆. Thanks for the two restaurant ideas! Totally adding a Bloody Pickle to my drinking tests!! I LOVE Pickles! See y'all soon! 👋 -Ashley from Adventure Encounters
It's really interesting see the difference between your last visit and this one... the water is now beautiful and so glad you guys got a great day. You see sooo many videos online about the manatees....or dugongs we call them in Australia. I'm not at all surprised how busy it was. This is one experience at the top of my visit. I'm glad you got to see the one Will have to try sitting on the paddle board next time...my feet won't go as numb...lol Haha...love the social distancing...stay one manager apart 🤣🤣
Yea it was a totally different experience! The first visit was more challenging and rewarding physically, but we definitely were able to relax more during this visit. I didn't know that manatees/dugongs were in Australia too, is it common to see them? As far as paddleboarding we really like how versatile they are, the option to stand, sit, kneel or even lay down is great. Thanks so much for watching :)

Another great video. So what happened to your finger? First thing I noticed as I watched the video. LLWAV!!
We were hoping we would get lucky like LRM and be able to swim with one, but we were happy to at least see one :) When you two saw the manatee, was it actually in the springs? or in the river. What a great Christmas idea, there are so many places to paddle in Florida.
