BEAUTIFUL experience to see these guys :) when I was little, my mom and I would go to visit my grandparent whom lived in inglis florida,we wouldn't go to the springs cause grandpa was too old to have a boat, but he would sit and sit and fish (thow all the fish back of course alive) and you would see these amazing beautiful mammals up close where you could reach out and touch them if you got down in the water a bit. They are so sweet,by their size you would think they would be ruff, but they arent
Hey Kyle, next time you come to Fl you should check out either Wekiva or the Rainbow river. Both are spring fed and are great for bassin'. Just went last Winter.
What is the cheapest way to dive here? I have my own gear and cert. I was just wondering if it is possible for me to dive here and not pay the $35 for the "guided-tour".
Totally free. Just bring a yak or canoe if possible. You can paddle into the spring, get in from your kayak or canoe and dive. Snorkel is fine as well, but scuba is cool there.
Fishingallday31 Is there a park entrance fee, or is it just public property? And about the yak...what kind of distance would you be swimming otherwise?
its such a SHAME what boat motors do to them, and years ago a lot of people out boating didn't care if they cut or hurt one of these amazing creatures...smh

Don't worry we have them in the pools here too...
