also JJ is BGC in Manila ? if so i maybe looking to move into BGC when i am ready to move to the Philippines i am a 100% disable vet, so i would be trying to use the VA hospital there in Manila ok, cheers :)
@3:51 is the American Memorial/Cemetery. It's one of the best places to visit when you're in BGC and pay respect to the fallen heroes of WW2. It's one of the biggest American Cemetery outside the US and it's beautiful in there. If you're into history the Philippines has a lot to offer.
Yes it's a beautiful place. They don't allow video in the cemetery out of respect, but I took a lot of photos and put together a video of that. Here's the link to that video. Thanks for watching. th-cam.com/video/kJ7h_whr3kU/w-d-xo.html
New sub here. Good vid, just a couple of questions. You're retired with SS? And you have some kind of savings/fund as backup? I did this exact thing about six years ago & live in Davao City, BTW
I'm not one to disclose my income sources. Always a good idea not to let anyone know how much money you have. You could become a target for scammers. But I will tell you I'm retired. Thanks for watching.
Yeah, I get it. I've met several foreigners in Davao in similar monetary situations as ours. Most are good friends. FYI, meeting girls is much easier here, better quality. I'm talking in person, the dating apps stink. Been there done that. I also lived in both Omaha & Lincoln way back when
I just retired too last year here in the US & planning to semi retire there for 6 months & 6 months here in NYC bc my family lives here. When i was still working i only stay there in the Philippines for 3 weeks. I have no choice but to
Hi - enjoying your content. Where else have you lived in the Phils, and do you plan to explore other areas that are somewhat comparable to BGC - maybe Iloilo, Cebu, Davao? Thank!
Love your comment about retiring eartly which we should have done earlier . Wife and I are both retired and (wife been to Philippines once) planning to visit Philippines if it's doable. I'm Filipino by birth so I think I could live in Philippines although I'm now a US citizen. My question is did you go to an agency to find condo in BGC?
I was lucky to find a good job working for an airline in hk for 20 years and started saving early so I was able to retire at 42. It was my intention to retire early that’s why I started saving early. Best decision I ever made.
@@JJthelonelybullinasia I live in US now ( married an American colleague who worked for the same airline. ) Been here for 16 years. I go to manila every year and sometimes twice a year since I still maintain a place in mnl

I recognized some of the streets, making me miss BGC. We saw the place from ground up, it's amazing to see how it turned out. I can see there's still some constructions going on. 👍

Don't regret the China job back in 2016. If you accepted that you could've been trapped during the pandemic since the lockdown in China was really strict.
Metro Manila “bubbles” are planned. Govt intentionally created these bubbles so that office work will no longer be concentrated in makati and ortigas. Now, anywhere you are in Metro Manila, there is nearby bubble that you could find an office work.
Thats my plan to retire early in the Philippines . Thanks for encouraging story. You are so sweet but just got those not good GF. Hopefully this time you get a good one that will be with you forever for sure we have many there.

I mostly used Facebook Marketplace and rentpad.com for my search. Through those sites you deal with both owners and agents. Thanks for watching.

You came to the Philippines to look for a job or be a passport bro which you denied. Which one is it?
I didn't come here to look for a job. I was hired to come here. So I had a job already when I got here.

BGC and Makati/Bel Air is one of the most expensive areas 2br condo in BGC is over 500K and no deals at the mall area that you are showing.
Federal land close to mitsukoshi mall has studios for $180K USD
But if you really need a 2 bedroom unit then yeah it’ll cost a pretty penny
Thankfully I don't need a 2 bedroom unit
Just saying it is more expensive than a condo in Las Vegas close to the strip. It should be that expensive in Manila!
@@larrkarr000 I'm not buying a condo here. I'm renting, and I can guarantee my rent here is cheaper than Vegas.
