  • How much time will you have to enjoy your retirement in the Philippines? How is your health? Nobody knows when they will leave this planet. How much time can you make?
I talk about enjoying the last part of your life.

Hey JJ. Thank you for these videos. I seem to identify more closely to your point of view than to other clips I've watched. I recently retired here in Canada and I'm really tired of the Government corruption, extreme taxes, wokeness and crime that is so pervasive in north america these days. I have decided to move to the Phillipines in the near future. I've spent time in the far east during my years in the army so I'm somewhat prepared for the culture shift. I'm really looking forward to the change. Cheers.

Love the poem! I’m barely getting over jet lag and ready to come back to the Philippines! Spent three and a half months there to see where I can retire, the province or the city. Stayed in BGC for a month & that’s the place to be at…Mabuhay!

When you figure out less time in front of you than what was behind you 😮 the time you have in front of you 1/3 of it will be sleeping 😮

Such a great line, ""We have two lives and the second begins when you realize you only have one."
BTW, I think you mean São Paulo, Brazil. S-ã-o Paulo, Brazil, as the home of the poet.
P.S. What does it mean when you say a live feed is coming up? 👍

      Which visa?

Retirement VISA SRRV. I've been to the Philippines 3 times for business. And they allow you to enter for 30 days with just a USA Passport. But if you are gonna live there in retirement, I understand that you have to apply for a special retirement VISA. And there are costs associated with that.

@@justinlyon6243 you can stay here on a tourist visa up to 36 months without having to leave. Extension cost is about 1,300pesos a month. SRRV visa requires you to deposit $10,000 US with a pension of at least $800/month into a Philippines bank account. If you have no pension then $20,000 deposit is required. If you're a veteran it's only $1,500. You have to be 50 years old minimum to qualify. And renewal annually is $360.

What's the cost of the tourist VISA? And you just have to leave the country after 36 months? And then come back? So, just keep coming for 3 years at a time?

@@justinlyon6243 Yes it's really that simple. Anytime during your 30 day visa free time you can go to any Bureau of Immigration office and extend your visa. The first extension is 29 days. After that you can extend 30 or 60 days at a time. The cost is about $25 US per month. You will also need to get an Alien Certificate of Registration ID on you second extension. It's good for 1 year. If at anytime you leave the country, when you return your process starts over. In other words you enter 30 days visa free and the 36 month countdown begins again. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
