"I'd prefer the Hanuman explanation" Witty, Hilarious, Short and yet you manage to summarise the culture and beauty of the place in the video. A really great channel. Subscribed. Looking forward for more.
Hahah thanks Sagar!🙏🏼Yes there's too much history and culture to summarise in a 5 minute video, but I did my best😆Hey thanks for subscribing too, more videos are on their way!
+Adarsh Prakash Thanks Adarsh, so nice to read this. It was such an incredible place, I couldn't help but film it. Also there's so much more of Hmapi that I didn't capture, I'll have to go back :)
Thank you for replying back... And if you are coming back , welcome to India again , yeah the hampi is a great place. But sadly hampi grande culture is dead , there will be celebration of its past glory every year ,called hampi utsava ( festival of hampi) if you are planning to come again , do plan it during hampi utsava,it will be a nice experience... But hampi utsava is kind of artificial construct, which lacks the originality , if you want to see the real culture of hampi , its alive in the Mysore , maharajas of mysore were ,the feudatory nobles of hampi vijayanagara empire , you can experience the hampi culture there .. Do visit Mysore during Dasara celebrations.. And also chitradurga another feudatories , were you can find the remenets of grand hampi .. ( when you find time do Google out Mysore dasara and chitradurga fort ) .. Namasthe
WoW! 5 stars and fully inspired to travel. I just dont understand why you dont have enough views. Keep up the great work and enjoy your journey. Full Support from Houston Texas!
+Cesar Tovar Thanks Cesar! I try to inspire people with this channel, so I really appreciate the comment. It's exciting that the video's made it out there to Texas... Hopefully one day I will too ;D Haha cheers!
Visited Hampi few years ago, truly amazing place and historical site, blew my mind! So nice people there and I had very honest riksha driver, too! Overall feeling was otherworldly, definitely one of the greatest moments of my life! I send best regards from Latvia! Thank you!
Thank you for making this video; though I've lived in India all my life, I never really got a chance to explore Hampi in all its splendour. The style of your documentary, and the overall cinematography really lets us live vicariously through you.
Really neat!! What an amazing place. So much that has gone on in the world that we moderns have so little inkling of!!! Oscarama opens new [old] windows on the human story.
agent21 sure it is in karnataka... But its actually a telugu empire.. Its a really proud capital of the telugu vijayanagar empire....it ended up in karnataka cuz.. During the state partition... Those northie congress fuckers didn't have a fucking clue where they were drawing the lines...
Hey man...!!!! Great video! I think you should visit the Madhurai Temple. It has over 33000 estimated carvings. It was on the list of top 30 nominees for the "New Seven Wonders of the World". Its epic.
+sanch Sanchayan 🙌🏼😆 Thanks Sanch! Yeah there are so many incredible places like this in India, it's a shame they're not more popular with tourists... However I also quite like that there were so few visitors! 😆 Otherwise it would have a completely different vibe. Saying that, I'm sure in the next few decades it will get much more crowded, as transport and promotion is going to get better...
As India keeps up with it's growing economy , more advertisements will come . The thing is people coming from US or Europe thinks India as a place of Himalayas, Mughals , Rajputs and Bollywood. They have never been shown a taste of Ancient Indian civilisation that was there for over 7000-5000 years . Mughals are the mid medieval period not the Golden Age . Go and see temples like Ellora Caves and Kailash temple ( Sold mountain carved granite megalith temple) , see Badami Caves. See the architecture of Kalinga , Guptas , Mauryas , Kakatayas , Vijaynagar , Cholas , Pallavas , Pandyas . See the Nalanda university ( World's earliest save the Taxilla which is in present day Pakistan but was by the same empire) . Go to Haryana and see the 7500 BC bronze age cities , Dwarka , Dholavera, Khajuraho. There is nothing more mystical than Ancient India. I mean medieval india is fine but it is comparable . Ancient India holds the true mystery and enigma of Indian culture.
+Sheetal Y Parmar Parmar Thank you! Or even... 'dhanyavaad'... I think... Haha it's so nice to receive comments like this, really inspiring... As for my voice, nothing special there :D
oh man! your video is great. traveling to hampi tomorrow and traveling solo. planning to start my own vlog and checking out inspiration. bumped into this. lovely edit. ps: you so good-looking 😍😍😍
This channel is truly great. While i was watching your videos, i tought: This guys must got around 100k-200k subs. Then i go look your subs and im like: What? How can it be? The quality is Perfect! I still wonder. But i know you will reach more than 612 subs. Plus you did a great video. From 0 to 100 i would give you an 100. Just Keep it Up! Hope you get a Explendid journey! Suport From Lisbon, Protugal !
+Joao Pedro Thanks Joao! Yes the channel is still fairly young, but it's got good momentum. Every new subscriber is exciting! Thanks for the support :D One day I'll make a video in Lisbon...
Beautiful place, thanks for the nice views. My first visit there was in 1979 and we were camping in the old temples with our sleeping bags and having breakfast - puri/sabji and chai - for 45 paisa in the little Chai shop, which is no more possible! good old times 😊 but so sad that since protected by Unesco they displaced the villagers, where once the surroundings of the main temple were full of people, cows, vegetable shop and small restaurants (where I had my first very very spicy meal 😳) and full of life, now only tourists and kind of "parking" has been build with lots of small hotels, shops and restaurants specially for tourists 😢
Being a frequent traveller within India, would recommend highly the places of Leh(Ladakh region), Himachal, North Sikkim, Kashmir Valley..others include Andamans,Lakhswadeep....so much to see in India...One life is insufficient
sorry 🙏 for the pickpocketing threats.... we (mostly the administration and govt agencies) are working hard to eradicate this evil and helping to make the tour more exciting n merry for foreign tourists. in coming future, it will be eradicated. keep visiting India... we all welcome you and love you. namaste 🙏
+ceasefire066 Thanks! I put a lot of time into editing hours of footage into a 5 minute package of info for everyone. Glad it's noticed :D & Yeah Kerala is incredible, everything is so different to the north! I have videos coming soon from Goa, Kerala, Kolkata, Varanasi, etc... that I still have to upload. So stay tuned! :D
+Oscarama Sikkim! The mighty kanchenjunga/Himalayas. World's largest lagoon Chillika in Odisha. Try visiting North East India, Really unexplored even for Indians.
Saying there's no tourists around is a complete misrepresentation. I stumbled across Hampi 10 years ago. This place is not that far off the beaten path; as I was able to catch a rather comfortable AC sleeper bus that does a daily overnight from Palolem. I'd never heard of the place although it was in my 12th edition Lonely Planet. I'd meet a group of backpackers on the beaches of Goa whom were all planning on going that way; as we'd celebrated the December holiday season together I decided to join them inland. 1st off seasonally there can be tons of Indian Tourists as Virupaksha Temple is important pilgrimage site. Secondly while in Hampi (I stayed a couple weeks) independent of my influence I separately ran into several western tourists I'd already met travelling about elsewhere. They were venturing about in the south and happened along there. People I'd met as far away as Kathmandu, Varanasi, Khajuraho and Kolkata. When the group of the party revelers I'd tagged along with friends showed up from the beach that was expected. When I saw people I'd hadn't seen in months and only had briefly met somewhere a 1000 miles north I knew I was firmly on the established Tourist/Backpacker Circuit. All the videos I watch of the other travelers trips to Hampi show me that its become even more developed and widely know. Hampi was by the most chill place I've ever been one of my favorite spots in India. The ruins are next level as they are so expansive u simply cant see them all. Any way liked your video it brings back memories just don't tell people this is some hard to get to isolated far off and away place. There was one night back in 07/08 on that big rock hill where the Hanuman Temple with all the monkeys is up the stone stairs there must of been 50 of us westerners watching the sunset...
hey nice video man ..But you should have coverd up with the Place where People do their Commodity exchange Trades...Haha ..basically Hampi was a great Trade city ..
I have to say Oscar, theft i think is a big concern in mostly urban areas, rural areas its usually very safe (as far as India is concerned), of course you have certain exceptions. Nice to see your videos, they're great!
You're right, especially as India's city's are have such dense populations! Still, I was surprised at how many tourists (and Indians) exposed valuable gadgets in crowds. I like to think as long as you avoids advertising yourself like this, it's generally safe. By the way thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it! Many more to come :)
WOw man just awesome :) from somewhere i got ur channel's link and subscribed and next tym when u will be in noida or delhi-NCR please let me know, i will help you in this for sure :)
Cheers man!! I film with a Sony RX100 and edit with Final Cut ;) However many of my India videos were actually edited on the road, using my mobile phone! :O
+Bas van Veghel Thanks Bas! Yes, I do travel solo... However, I find myself talking to everyone (locals and travellers) wherever I go, so I'm actually very rarely alone. Particularly in India, where so many people are social!
Hmm, it depends.. In a large city like Mumbai I would research a place to stay, online the night before. But most of the time I work it out on the day. I take recommendations from fellow travellers, and also have a Lonely Planet guide that has suggestions. In a smaller place like Hampi though, its safe to simply turn up and wander to find the best place/price. With transportation I just ask at the nearest bus/train station. Also lots of information is online. After a while, travelling is not so different from navigating my hometown! & 99% of locals are happy to help when I ask :)
At 2.12 it's a 500 year old tradition in the exact spot seen here. Hampi is just 1/20th of the actual Vijayanagara city 500 years ago. The rocks in that region is a result of the great deccan eruption millions of years ago & not sand blowing OR anything like that(simple common sense Mr westerner). Even the black soil in the deccan plateau is because of that eruption. & Hampi will always remain the greatest city ever on earth, as mentioned by all ancient travellers to that city. Read Robert Sewell' s "The forgotten empire" to know it's splendor and prosperity.
Cool man, nice one. I just spent two weeks there, amazing place.

Hampi was once featured in Jacky Chan's Movie - "The Myth" :)
Can you list out the places you visited in Hampi?
we are never told about vijayanagar empire in our history books ..
samaksh rai
thanks to our leftist and Congi historian who misconveyed the Indian History.
What history books were you reading, man?
Because you don't read your history books.
samaksh rai ncrte books are nothing but propaganda. Read real history books
What nonsense, it is in Karnataka state syllabus
I suggest you to visit rajasthan,India it's most beautiful place , i suggest u to visit jaipur jodhpur and udaipur...
love the videos! feels like right there too x
hey nice video man ..But you should have coverd up with the Place where People do their Commodity exchange Trades...Haha ..basically Hampi was a great Trade city ..
Our history.. Our pride
Hampi is much much more than what you said. You have covered only a tip of the iceberg!! Good presentation though :)
I like the way how you are using the local language for each video... :)
Of course! I also love how the language looks, so curvy. Each letter is like a piece of graphic art in itself! 🤔😀
right now watching your videos, they are very unique presentation , i love them
heyy if you like historical places you should definitely see Badami and Aihole it's beautiful!! do chech it out

Hmm, it depends.. In a large city like Mumbai I would research a place to stay, online the night before. But most of the time I work it out on the day. Yeah legally and in cities but in rural areas still child marriages and young marriages happen. Just google it for the statistics.
Hanuman is very powerful...more than 10feet that times...people are very height..in ancient times
You forgot to mention: Hampi is where game of chess was discovered..
👌
those boulders are exfoliated tors and domes. They are formed by erosion and weathering.
