- The Gray Man is a big budget globe-trotting assassin action movie that is... kind of boring. Oh well, at least I was able to pass the time by counting all the sins.
Thursday: Recent comic book sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we count next?

As someone who read the novel, the biggest sin is that the film didn't have in it the most American sentence ever written in 21st century fiction: "Inside was a Barrett M107, a fifty-caliber rifle that fired shells half the size of beer bottles and dispatched the heavy bullets with a muzzle velocity of nearly nine football fields a second."
anything but metric
But books aren't allowed in the sin calculator.... Infact anytime they feel they need to reference a book for context or anything else it's a sin. As a Harry Potter book fan I feel you
@@garethhughes7430unsurprisingly.
That's God-awful.
@@bobbyespinal8660 I mean they didn’t say it was good, just the most American.
The eyeball tapping is a "dead-check". If someone is alive but feigning death, it'll take a LOT for them to not react to having their eyeball tapped.
I'll remember that the next time it occurs.
Also blowing on the eyes can make them flutter, it's how my mom used to bust me for staying up late.
Next time I want to verify someone is truly dead, I'll make sure to do that. Thank you, sire.
@@bitters879even if you are sleeping you’ll still react
@@AliasdHacker: Uh oh... You're not going to need adult supervision at *funerals* , are you? 🤔🤭
This movie was kinda fun, but my biggest problem was that they didn’t do enough to make Chris Evan’s character feel like a real threat. He mostly just sits back and yells at people, but not in a “evil genius mastermind” kinda way. It would’ve been way better imo if he had been more like a terminator endlessly closing in on the protagonist with ruthless, maniacal glee
Well would could you expect from Captain goodie too shoes. But at least he wasn't playing the hero for once. You do make a good point.
@@bartsullivan4866 you’ve clearly never seen Scott Pilgrim. Or even Knives Out for that matter
So Jason Mamoa in Fast X?
@@virgilhawkins5680 I’ve never seen a fast and furious movie lol 🤷🏻♀️
@@virgilhawkins5680Great example
Fun Fact: On Chris Evans' first day of filming, he accidentally hit Ryan Gosling in the face with his prop gun.
Fun fact: who cares
😂

-B'Tor to Soren after he slugged her and sent her flying across the room in Star Trek Generations
Sure the writing isn't spectacular but the action scenes are fun and Chris Evans is having the time of his life.
I personally enjoyed this movie despite its flaws
For some reason Chris Evans as a despicable slimy bastard works soooo well. That trash-stache is disgusting. XD so fun!
I have watched it 4 times already. LOVE IT!!
I just watched this for the first time last night. What a pleasant coincidence.
I would give Six credit for quickly picking up on the fact that Carmichael is a real PoS, based on the fact he wanted Four dead so badly he didn’t care at all about collateral damage, including kids. Just the fact that Four wanted him to have the necklace before he died, and Carmichael immediately called asking about it let Six know that he absolutely should not give it to him under any circumstances.
I’m guessing the Russo’s putting themselves in at the end is getting sinned. Edit: Heh, I was correct: Sin 128 😏At least their kids aren’t in the movie looking directly into the camera this time?
I think the main thing to me was that he didn't know what the guy had or who he was, that person could've had extremely important information like on how to launch or set off a nuke, information regarding agents in the field etc., I think the weirdest thing is that they knew they were looking for a necklace but they wanted to kill the guy through two floors with no-one to actually grab the necklace with the information.
Missed a big opportunity of referring to Chris Evans as "Captain Guantanamo" during the interrogation scene
This movie didn’t break any molds, or shatter expectations, or say anything really significant about the human experience or anything, but - and I don’t often say this because I’m a real party-pooper about fun movies - it was a fun movie. Plus I like Ryan Gosling so that helped 😂
THE GOOSE IS LOOSE
i appreciate the kind words man, i - the ryan gosling, am happy you enoyed my movie
A sin should have been taken off for the fight between 6, Dani and The Lone Wolf. It was the best shot and clearest fight in the entire movie as well as being very well choreographed.
The child actress in this movie did a good job. Anyone agree?
She’s a well know actress that’s been in movies and shows like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Young Sheldon
Yes
@@thomaspiccoli2931cap
You mean Ana de Armas? I dont really like her in anything. She cant really act. All she does is make big eyes and talk softly.
He poked him in the eye to confirm death. It's supposed to be with the barrel of a gun but I guess a finger works too.
We used a twisted up tissue in the nursing home.
This movie contains no Liam Neeson.
who??
@@andrewmauro8551 get out. just get out.
a sin in and of itself
@@andrewmauro8551 I have no words.....
I was quite taken with this comment. 😁
To be honest, we need more of these 80's/90's style action flicks.
Air Force One - 2 😄.
3:40 exactly the issue with these videos at times. You’re literally handing out a sin for something you don’t understand. The joke you’re attempting to make isn’t at the expense of the movie, more the concept the movie deploys via a joke. The ‘Al Capone Booth” is a thing. The movie didn’t invent it. The reason you sinned it is the reason it exists. I don’t understand why you do this haha isn’t the point to poke fun at movies themselves? Otherwise why in earth are you sinning the Al Capone booth ? It makes perfect sense why it was Effective. And not a terrible Joke here
This movie was worth it just to watch Chris Evans have fun with being insane. That is balanced out by just how many times we have to listen to Gosling growl.
I loved this movie but cinemasins is always my go to for movies iv seen already, I love to see all the dumb shit I never noticed
Ah yes especially lOgOs, bro hates logos for no reason.
I'm glad we've finally gotten the culmination of the "in case you confused it with..." sins.
The one where he said Elton John's Vienna instead of Billy Joel's Vienna was such a deep cut.
I believe the biggest sin was Courtland Gentry being incarcerated at age 15 in an adult prison for life for killing his abusive father who deserved to die.
Seriously, why was Courtland imprisoned for killing his father when the father was abusive and at times nearly killed both him and his brother? Why wasn't he considered a hero for his actions?
If the U.S law system worked, half the movies on this planet wouldn’t exist.
And that is 100% an incident that would happen in real life.
The greatest waste of the entire film is things like this. In the books, he gunned down three man attempting to kill someone who he was the bodyguard for. that is why he was in prison, and he only took that job because of disagreements with his father. His father becomes relevant much later in the series.
Florida, USA 🇺🇸
EXACTLY. Even if he was convicted, how TF would his sentence be 40 years?! As a minor?!
I actually adore this movie. Such a fun watch
Lloyd is the most cartoon character since Roger Rabbit 😂
He's also the most evil character Chris Evans has ever played.
@@MrChaotic4 100%
@@MrChaotic4never seen Scott pilgrim?
@@afiftysixteen9584 Of course I have. Lloyd is WAY worse than Lucas Lee.
6:57 no matter the age, when a lady wants you to give her space, you give her SPACE, goddamnit. 🙄
I cannot possibly stress this enough. As a person born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains, I can state without fear of contradiction that it is pronounced "Apple-ATCHA" and "Apple-ATCH-uhn." As in, "I'm fixin' to throw an apple at ya."
I grew up a couple of hours away from the mountains but we said them apple-LAY-chian around my way. Not saying it's right or arguing with you; just saying it is what it is at this point. I will argue with a Nevadan though.
@@virgilhawkins5680 Oh, I know people say it that way. It's just my job to learn you how it's done s'pose to be spoke.
Probably one of the best action films I’ve watched. It’s just fun good time.
Sweet jesus watch better films !!
Great movie.
It was utterly boring
@@deadpool8340 i bet people like you reccomend 4h garbage movies like the godfather. try to stay awake challenge!
@@noctambule5726 no it wasnt.ive seen utterly boring, this wasnt it.
42 regular indicates a chest between 41 and 43 inches. While there is a correlation to height, it is not related to the measurement specified. So there is no reason for a guy who is shorter than him to be unable to provide a jacket that fits
Was this movie good? No. Not really. The action was decent enough. But Chris Evans actually gave the best performance in this movie and that "I got SHOT IN THE ASS, SUZANNE!" line was the only genuine laugh I got from the movie.
Chris Evans was clearly having so much fun after so many years playing a goodie-two-shoes character like Cap that I found it impossible not to have fun watching him. 😂
Ryan Gosling playing Ryan Gosling...I think out of all of his characters, Ken and Holland March are his most distinguishable based on personality.
He's also different aesthetics too
His best acting was in Blue Valentine
I'm personally a fan of "Drive" as my favorite take on his stoic style and "The Nice Guys" for showing a guy who did that so often at the time is actually a dynamite comedy actor too, under the right circumstances.
Goose is the type of actor that you can cast in anything and give him whatever personality you want but it still feels like the same person.
@@motherplayer Drive is the only film he was in that I liked. Everything else is just boring.
Theres also the possibility of refrigerators breaking and ruining all the food in them from shoting the power out. Also the chance somone had an oxygen machine and hearing that thing scream because no power is at least a sin for each hour and hope the person has tanks that don't need power.
The Grey and Bullet Train were some unexpectedly fun movies that I enjoyed from beginning to end.
The time crisis joke got me lol
YES! I scrolled looking for this comment. That was the best!
If someone invaders your personal space, its ok to break their arm! I had no idea, good to know 😁 boundaries everyone or else
Ryan G at 23 and now. No difference so we should all get the sin 😢
Easily the best Bonus Round
Yes
Chris Evans is awesome in this movie. It’s good to see him as the complete opposite of Cap
*Billy Joel's Vienna.
That's a sin for the bonus round.
I'm already looking forward to you doing Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, since Dial of Destiny premieres at the end of this month.
I will forever argue location tags aren't sins! They're vital to the story. Otherwise I wouldn't know where the heck we are in the movie. Not everyone is a world traveler and recognize every landmark. 😂😂😂
But when you see the Eiffel Tower, do you need the "Paris, France" tag? That's the point
@@SaudePyter Could be the mini tower in Vegas 🙄
@@SaudePyter Yes, in the larger context of whatever movie it is.
Watch the Mission Impossible Fallout sins video to see his problem with obvious place cards
Why does it matter that the prison was in Florida? Some of them are helpful but title cards pull me out of movies. One man’s opinion though
I liked it.
I just finished reading the Novel, and watched the movie to compare....the novel was better for sure, and I feel the movie watered down Gentry's abilities some.
I’ve read every hitman book but the last and this was a good action movie but in my opinion didn’t bring the feel of Court Gentry also I wish they just kept it same with the book they made it WAY to action movie and not a spy movie.
Also they only had one niece when in the books it was 2 and had the girls parents in the chateau. And the thing I love about Court in the books is he gets hurt all the time he even has an addiction to pain pills which makes him have to think before he medicated himself. Also the girl didn’t have a pacemaker she stole a phone off a guard for Donald to call 6.
The eyeball flick is to check to see if he is playing dead or not. They used that trick in a book called Vertical Run.
You *_assume_* you'll be alive in 2045??!
_I am sinning you _*_ten sins_*_ for that assumption!_
Killing off Lloyd, aka the only entertaining part of the movie, and expecting us to care about the obviously baited sequel. DING!
The whole movie is an Audi commercial and yet in the end the characters drive off into the sunset in a G-Wagon. Ig Audi didn’t pay enough for that part.
Can you guys do the The Poseidon Adventure and the terrible 2006 remake?
At some point I need The Nice Guys sinned
Why would they release such a short video?!
"In case you confused it with chicken"
Lovely
Jeremy being a multiple sin-worthy Limp Bizkit (or noodle) because he didn't look like The Gray Man when washing blood from his shirts was the opposite of a rush of blood to one's head.
Definitely human torch Chris.
you missed an opportunity for a rick and morty interdimensional cable personal space joke
2023 hating on the Bizkit without even being relevant to the scene? Pretty weak bruh
missed the best line was hoping you were going to sin or comment on " lets see if these moves fuck"
I forgot this movie existed, and I watched it. Can’t wait to forget it again.
Great and enjoyable movie, watched it twice so far. Gonna watch it again in the near future
One sin left out for ‘yet another movie with both Anna De Armas and Ryan Gosling.’
I get the feeling this is starting to become like the Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart thing.
Or Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Scott Wolf and Alyssa Milano at this point 😊.
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter
Hm okay then and hey there I'm definitely not a bot anyways want a 🍪 and some 🥛
Lloyd and the narrator are kind of similar
Happy Birthday, Chris Evans
"MacGrayver" lol
You need to do the movie one hour photo!!! Robin Williams a great movie one which only us millennials and older will relate too
They were excellent together in bladerunner 2049..
i turned that movie off after 15 minutes because of how boring and pretentious it was
Drinking game: Take a shot for every location name
Can't wait for s Fast x 100milion sins!!!
17:18 in case you confused it with Prague
I saw a movie that didn't say where we were in the world's setting, and it made me appreciate the smaller location titles in the corner saying where we were.
I think it was Mandolorian, but I don't remember.
While I watched this movie thinking what will Jeremy think of all the city titles 😂😂😂
The best thing about this movie is the amusing through line that seems to be wondering is one good tool better than many weaker ones with quality vs. quantity? The amusing interdepartmental headbutting between sides and arguing about education and stuff and Chris Evans haming it up was way more interesting than was intended, I'm sure. Otherwise you're left with a remarkably bland spy thriller that the last 3 "Mission: Impossible" films runs circles around. Also foregoing all the amusing ambiguity of it all by giving the lead a care for a child is like the weakest way to do so.
you should really do kill bill please!!!!!
Still waiting for Billy Madison
You missed one of the biggest sins: when Lloyd and Six first meet, and Six drops a grenade between them, Lloyd inexplicably shoves Six away and runs in the opposite direction, instead of keeping ahold of Six and pulling him away with him.
After getting his hands on the man he’s hunting, and even pepper-spraying him, Lloyd stupidly does the one thing guaranteed to give his target a chance to escape, which is completely out of character. That moment completely took me out of the movie the first time I watched.
I'm just here Alfre Woodard
Avik San is the star of this movie
Lloyd's delivery of "Baalls" deserved a sin off 😂
This was one of the few movies that actually takes place largely on my continent (europe) so it was refreshing to see some names and locations I actually recognise and am geographically close to
The "In case you confused it with..." section was A1!
He tapped his eyeball because Who ever wrote the script saw Serpent and the Rainbow. That was how they made sure that people were zombies.
Looks pretty neat movie so far despite the sins headcount
favorite bonus round so far
Surprised you didn’t point out and sin when he gets tranqed and then she runs up… how could she have shot him with the dart if she wasn’t within view of him?!?!
Thought about it too but it made sense considering you'd basically sign the death certificates of Fitzroy AND Claire. Doesn't make sense
So, he was born in 1980, incarcerate in 1995 (15 years old) and is eligible for parole in 36 years?? Not even in Texas!! It doesn’t matter what crime he committed, no minor serves 36 years. One or two years in youth detention - max.
never watch a gosling movies .
he's for the stay at home moms not us
Oh boy! A movie based around the rumors of Mozart's death! I can't wait to see how they portray Salieri; do they go with the idea that Salieri actually killed Mozart, or do-
Hm? I'm sorry?
...Oh, it's just another assassin action movie.
7:39, as a Netflix movie it makes total sense to show "Present day"; you give an example for 2045, but seriously, nobody watched this movie even two weeks after the release
That is not Bangkok.
Can't find Wien sign, but it is mostly plausible.
That is Chantilly. Good on y'.
Wait, they went from Vienna to Chantilly to Prague? Gits.
It's still shot.
Tbh, i think the 2nd part of Gray man (if it comes) will probably be Claire getting kidnapped by Carmichael and Six finding, killing carmichael and rescuing claire again
This movie was, as the title implies, colorless and boring. Also, can Hollywood stop pushing Anna de Armas? She cant act and looks 16 years old. It creeps me out.
And Ryan Gosling is not a good lead for an action movie.
Just watched the film. It was shit. Boring, derivative bollocks...the leads carried it.
EUGENIO DERBEZ! That would've been hilarious! Awesome to learn y'all are fans....or not xD
Please sin the 2017 and 2021 My Little Pony movies
This movie is great - watch it!
Such a wasted opportiunity in bonus round. It should have been "In case you confused it with Washington, Marvel".
All this movie does is take names from the books and create a John wick knock off. Such a disappointment to someone who’s actually read the books
This was actually a fun movie. I know Cinema Sins has a job to do, but a little too harsh on this on for my liking. As if anyone cares.
Thursday: Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania?
I’m just sad u didn’t mentioned the fact that what’s her name electric Audi Q4 just covered all the grounds with no need of long charging time.
In case you confused it with chicken
I believe the exposition at the end, re: their alma mater (15:59), is a repeated joke making fun of how often people who have gone to Harvard feel the need to mention they've gone to Harvard (see 8:27).
"leaving mayonaise out" = food poisoning... huh, where are you from? USA...ah ok.
im so sick of half a billion dollar movies using 95% of the budget on the cgi and actors and giving the live action special effects no attention like how tf im supposed to believe just cuz the car has a audi symbol on the front meant the head on collision it was just in aint affect that at all 0 damage
