I am a wing Foiler. I have had the 800cm and 1000cm eagle x for 2 months. The 800cm goes really fast on average waves, seems to harness the wave energy. The 1000cm works in 8 kts with a mid length board and 6m wing good with tiny waves and also in moderate wind and overhead waves without getting overpowered. The wing tips can come out in hard turns with no sliding out. These are my favorite foils. My abilities have improved significantly since riding on the eagle x. I was solely using the 750cm SK8 for a year and a half before getting on eagle x foils. Additionally eagle x is smooth and stable in the open ocean.
I weigh 165 lbs. and a friend of the same weight as me agrees with my experience with the 800cm. It seems that riders more than 180 lbs they seem to favor the eagle x 900cm!
Great review mate 💯 accurate I have the 700x It’s super efficient and lively but have to say I think the original eagle 790 is better for a do all foil That turns , glides and still goes pretty quick
Thanks for watching. Agreed, the Eagle X is super fun to have in the quiver, but it's not an every day foil. Depending on your focus it's probably number 3 or 4 after your daily driver eagle/sk8 in a size or 2
Still very different blades i feel - in all sizes the standard eagle has a really wide speed range that is comfy at it's bottom and top end. The X is all about top end and doesn't enjoy being ridden near it's (quite abrupt) stall speed so much. Also on it's turn - the eagle feels looses and generates a more manageable lift increase, in comparison to the X which is more suited to straight line speed and drawn out arcs.
ooh, good call. I havn't spent enough time on the Code R to give a fully fair response. Initial feeling is that the code-R lifts easier and has a more forgiving range, the Eagle X has more top end speed and rides more aggressive. Will come back to you after spending more time on the R-series
The DWP feels very dedicated to straight line performance. It's efficiency is incredible and lift per size vs drag pretty mad, acceleration is mind blowing. But it's stall speed is super abrupt and it likes to be ridden flat so resists rolling when going fast. Where as the eagle behaves looser whilst having a wider speed range so it's fun for a wider range of riders, conditions and disciplines. I feel it's unfair to directly compare performance foils which were released 12/18 months apart at the moment though. Things are moving so quickly, no doubt Armstrong's next speed focused foil will put the DWP to shame.
Another great review, interesting and informative. Congratulations on sealing two awesome sponsors for the Kernow Foil Classic
thanks for watching, good to see you briefly, hopefully score a sesh with you soon

Awesome review and that spot looks amazing 😊
Thanks for watching, plenty of action and energy here in Newquay
Such a sick foil!

try the new 600 X, that is the better comparison to the 790.

Heya!! I am looking for a foil for low wind winging in gusty inland lakes (8-12 kts). What would you think comparing this to the seven seas series?
How would you compare the eagle x to the Code R series?
ooh, good call.

How do they compare to Armstrong dwp range ?
F-one is better. They figured out the secret sauce.
