Having taken until just last month to play and beat Outer Wilds . . . this is amazing. I would have never thought this category could exist but here it is and immaculately done
I have a question, roughly how many attempts does it take you to get a run like this? Also how many hours do you have in the game and (probs an impossible question) how many times do you think you've beaten it?!
Depends on the category and how good the record is. This one only took me a small handful of tries to beat my previous 9:51 record in this category, because that record wasn't very good as I was really inexperienced with shipless at the time. I currently have 686 hours logged in the game, the first 60 or so was my casual playthrough plus getting all the achievements, everything since is speedrunning. I have no goddamn idea how many times I've beaten the game, probably several hundred.
What's the cut after connecting with the first nomai statue? Does it kick your suit off and "start" the loop? (hence the stars and ship slightly moving)
The only reason the loop needs to start is for the sand in the twins to start flowing so you can access the ATP. Otherwise you could beat the game without starting the loop at all.
What's the purpose of the second sleep at the bonfire? My only guess is to wait there for Bramble to get right next to the White Hole? and waiting for it is faster than just Scout boosting from Ash Twin?
What time do you think is possible doing some stuff better? What I could see from your other runs is at 7:00 loading the navigation first, observing at 8:00 seemed to be bouncy and not approached from below and at the end you didn't boost towards the big bang (or is it not needed in this category?); and I probably missed some minor stuff only you would know about~ So about sub-9:10 barely possible?
Hey, is it important to land in a position that makes the statue turn less at the start, or are you so far away that it's better to just be closer to the ship?
Why the clock is paused when sleeping? That should be part of the run if you say “i can finish this game in 10 minutes” and i give you 10 minutes you won’t be able to. Edit: i watched a video from the devs and now i know it’s because that sleeping time is the physics engine going as fast as cpu can so it’s a form to unify different platforms. Still looks really weird
it's surprising but it makes sense lol. The gravity on the Eye is so strong that floating over it is quicker (or at least that's what my untrained eye sees lol)
I really love how they just casually roast a marshmallow in the run, is that like tradition or only you?
Slate be like: "Years of academy training WASTED!!"
Gossan would be proud though
truly shipless is getting the suit from the zero g cave lol, nice run
I wonder if there is a way to get past the elevator with the suit
@@deeplerg7913 it's possible, but you need to take things from the dlc area.
@@scotty3739 how and what things?

Dude does it once again. Big ggs

@@ptminsker it somehow took me like 200 hours just to beat the game, now I’m on about 300

This is insane. This is true art. I respect you so much
Incredible. Great job m8.
You go so fast that half of the Speedrun is waiting
He's so fast, the sleepy timer had to catch up
The fact that like half the speedrun is after the vessel warp is so silly

Yes, the statue cutscene resets the loop to the start and begins the loop timer.
The only reason the loop needs to start is for the sand in the twins to start flowing so you can access the ATP. Otherwise you could beat the game without starting the loop at all.
9:43 Hatchling jumpscare
Well done!
Finally, a run that isn't full of sh*p

I refuse to believe you are human.

This is absolutely insane lol
Isn't standing on the blue sphere faster to activate the end cutscene?
Great run overall man, big gg
The trigger is your head entering the sphere, so it's faster to enter from below.

Why does he doze of at Riebeck's camp?
What did he need to wait for?
For Dark Bramble to align with the white hole.
@@ptminsker Ahh. Didn't even think about that part. Nice run.
@@ptminsker this sounds like an innuendo
So if you give a speedrunner enough time and the righr tools they can escape gravitational pull, noted
Oh yeah lol warping with the nomai ship counts as using a ship, or wait it's just faster regardless lmao
Hey, is it important to land in a position that makes the statue turn less at the start, or are you so far away that it's better to just be closer to the ship?
It's because your suit is removed when the statue links with you, so if you land at the ship it saves time going back
@@ThatPancakeCat ah that makes perfect sense
I have no damn clue how you did most of this.
Why is activating the statue required?
The statue is what starts the time loop, so without it the sand doesn't drain on ash twin and we can't access the ash twin project.

Why the rest at brittle hollow? I don't get it. Edit: Duh. To get Dark Bramble closer to the white hole. Yea. So awesome. wow.
Waht the hell? It's faster to skip the warp? Wow. What?
