      Genuine Experiment? Yeah right.
      You can't be going around all day everyday outside in -20 weather and not be cold. I don't care who you are.
      You breathe in that cold air all day. Pulling pallets and pushing a cart makes you breath in that cold air even deeper. Feet freezing and possible frost bite. Every hour that you are outside in that frigid weather you feel colder.
      So if you have been outside in the weather for 8, 10, 12, or 15 hours then you will be much colder than somebody who has been out in that weather for 1 or 2 hours. I think your care body temperature drops or something.
      If you have been out in the cold for 1 or 2 hours you will warm up much quicker than somebody who has been out in the freezing cold for 8 or 10 hours. That can take many hours to warm up.
      Trying to push a cart, carry a heavy back pack, luggage, bags of belongings, pallets, and such for miles while freezing cold, sick, hungry, having lung diseases or other chronic diseases and frozen feet can be draining or near impossible.

    • @KeithOlson
      @KeithOlson 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There is some truth to that, but it also shows that you lack experience with *TRULY* having no security. For example, warmth and food are worthless when you are getting stomped or raped because you had to sleep under a bridge. (One homeless woman I spent some time talking with related that she sleeps in trees so she can't be found and raped again.)

    • @IronFreee
      @IronFreee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@KeithOlson Yes, sleeping in the cold outside at the mercy of every degenerate is not funny. I helped at a place where homeless guys came to take a shower, have a coffee for a cent and warm up for the day.
      I remember the faces of some of them when it was cold, it was heart breaking...
      Women have a lot more help than men, they get easier access to shelters and a lot more help. And nobody care about that, it doesn't fit the official narrative...

    I do just wanna point out everybody yelling politicians. This guy did say it was a choice. He could been in the mission which is a church. Matter of fact most churches will let you sleep there. And there warm or atleast warmer. I was homeless at 13 in nyc but by 15 I had a job and apartment those two years sucked but I was granted every opportunity I jus didn’t realize it. I had been offered food and room aswell as jobs but I’d always decline because I didn’t recognize this as my escape from hunger and the cold. It wasn’t untill a old rich white lady asked me if I wanted left overs. When I said no she told me if I’m happy where I am then I don’t need to try anymore. However if my situation is one I’m not “suppose” to be in then I better fight to get out of it. She then showed me the nazi numbers on her arm and said her family was homeless too. I didn’t understand untill later on but this lady had been a victim of the Holocaust and now she’s Uber wealthy on 5th ave. I now have a job and a family and am not homeless. I have a nice home.

      Many die. Every year more die. Whoever don't die the first year might die the second if they don't get shelter. After all the torture of freezing.

      Experts at the non-profit National Health Care for the Homeless Council say that, in many places, the people who perish without housing are never counted. They estimate the total number of deaths is actually between 17,000 and 40,000 every year.

    Notice his cheerfulness!! Read "Paradise Below Zero" by Calvin Rutstrum.. Downside is that a quick cup of coffee isn't always doable.. When I wake up like that, I go "Coffee time!!" There's some really nice sleeping bags available, in oversize so you can stretch out!!, that'll keep you comfy below zero, and they're not down, so they're actually much easier to take care of. Of course, Calvin Rutstrum had good times (and good stories!!) in the days before down alternatives.

    Here in the province of Quebec, if you are homeless you can spend the night in the emergency room of any hospital. Nobody will ask you anything, even more, they will be happy that you do not ask for medical attention.
    If you want to sleep you go into one of the dozens and dozens of empty rooms all around the hospital.
    Again, nobody will ask you to leave, cause they don't care if you are sick or not. For the last 50 years they don't even answer the bell when a real patient rings...
