I was building the same for a practice rig. Glad to see it will work and figured the CPU bottleneck would also happen. Great work.
I was told that 1660 needs a minimum of 450Watts. If you adopt a SATA connector to an 8 Pin, the power supply will blow under load and could damage the card as well.
@@FireTech7 I know this was a while ago but the comment said 450 watts and your psu was 500 watts why would you question if it would damage your psu if you were 50 watts above the minimum
Not true.... you have to look at your Power supply rails and 12v x to see how much power where a 1660 TI is under 130 watt and your own PCIE slot is 70 watts provided with about 50 watts pulled from Sata rail.. which is more than doable.

Would a gtx 1660 ți work with a i7 4770 without major bottleneck?
It will work but you'll need to upgrade the cpu. Get a i7 4770k or i7 4790k. 4790k is the best. You'll need to have a 500 W or 600 W power supply
@@addyyang5691 good to know,sadly i remained with a i5 4460 and a gtx 750 ti,would that cpu work with a gtx 1650 or an rx 6400
Would a msi gtx 1660 super work on this setup?

I have a ryzen 3 4300g and 16gb of ram my cpu is 8 16 thread verison what Gpu should I get I wanna play cod
I'm trying to upgrade my optiplex with a gtx 1650 with a 6-pin, so I know I'm gonna need a sata/6-pin adapter. Im also thinking about upgrading to a 400W psu with a 24-pin, so I'll need a 24-pin/8-pin for that. Am i missing anything/getting anything wrong or am I good to go?
New specs would be:
Processor: i5 4590
GPU: PNY GTX 1650
RAM: 8 GB ddr3 (also thinking of expanding to 16 GB)
PSU: 400W
I think PSU is not a problem, i've got an 1650 super, i7 3770 with 240w psu...and it works great !
But for gaming, 16 GB ddr3 is much better
@@vincenthufenus5481 Yeah I got the 16 GB, and since i don't play many games with really sophisticated graphics (mostly games like minecraft, starcraft 2, sea of thieves, scrap mechanic, etc) I think it'll turn into a fairly decent setup when everything's said and done
would it be possible to fit a B450-F inside of a optiplex 990?
Yes but you need to modify the on/off switch since its propietary for dell
I use a A320m, r5 2600, 1660s
@@edgar01111980 ah okay ty
can i use gtx 1660 ti in my optiplex 3080?
Sata are rated safely for 54w per cable. Not to be used to power a gpu. Very bad information in this video.
they work for this purpose just fine...i've built a ton of these using sata to pcie adapters and they've all worked perfectly
Bro can we run gtx 1050ti with 360 w by playing gta v , will it be fine bro?

Everyone should know never to use a Pin Adapter for your GPU 💀

youre going to experience CPU bottlenecking for sure with an older system like that
