Good discussion.. However... at 26:00 talking about soil and nutrients in the crops from that soil... Dr Hyman is on point..Mz Miller should look into the research... there is TONS and our soils are VASTLY depleted in micronutrients, trace minerals, and biology. On the other points, diversity, covered soil etc etc etc.. she is pretty well on point.

Farm raised in the 60/70's and saw the shift from small farms to big farms utilizing bigger equipment, more chemicals. I've always said we have to get back to the small family farm, however, living here on the East Coast where the topography supports that concept, I have to wonder what is out there for the huge tracts of flat land out in the MidWest where whole communities thrive off of corn, soy and wheat?

If glyphosate is a patented chelator, how then is the soil still able to contribute ample minerals to foster healthy plants?

Her logic is flawed. She doesn't agree about the soil being depleated of nutrients but then she talks about our practices that are depleating the soil of nutrients.

So, we deplete the soil of microbes via farming, which turn the rock particles into plant available minerals. No microbes, no minerals for the plant. "Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink" as it were

Mark, I absolutely love listening to these podcasts/interviews... I really enjoyed this one, all up until 34:24 when she talked about cancer and if you have it to "go see an oncologist and get on that chemo"...I'm sorry, but if you agree with her on this one, I really question your mind set as a "functional" medicine doctor... Come on Mark, you know as well as I do that there are MANY other options out there than Chemo, Radiation and Surgery... Lets get real here... Just like the part about you guys disagreeing on the soil being depleted of nutrients...

Chris can you please list some alternatives? My understanding is Steve Jobs died due to the alternative medicine you have on a pedestal.

So much ego and non sense in this podcast. You can find research for anything you want to promote nowadays. What this is lacking is common sense and real connection to self and the yet bigger issues at hand! Sheesh
