  • On many Norwegian Cruise Line ships, there is a complimentary Asian restaurant open for dinner. See what the food, including tasty fried rice & hot noodle soup dishes, looks like from there, including the new updated menu.
Depending on the ship, this NCL Japanese/Chinese food eatery has a different name such:
    * Shanghai's Noodle Bar, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Breakaway & Norwegian Getaway
    * Orchid Garden on the Norwegian Gem
    * East Meets West on the Pride of America
    * Lotus Garden from the Norwegian Pearl
    * Shogun on the Norwegian Spirit
    * Chin Chin aboard the Norwegian Jewel
    * Bamboo on the Norwegian Dawn
    * Jasmine Garden on Norwegian Jade
    * Ginza from the Norwegian Star
Even with all the different names, these Asian restaurants have similar menus. Though you'll find that on the newer ships, the menu is more abbreviated.
On some ships, this is also where you can order sushi, which does cost extra, but all the food you'll see in the video are included with your cruise fare, no need to pay more.
These were from our June 2022 cruise aboard the Star.

NCL is my favorite cruise line and i really appreciate your videos. They help me know what i want to order and what i want to avoid because i can see the dishes before i get onboard. The tasting and commentary is a bonus! Very fair and comprehensive. thank you!

Good Bless Morning here in Delaware. I am learning a lot from you and your family as to what to eat and what to try on Norwegian Ships. Thank you so much for sharing because I am truly a selective picky eater. Amen

Everything looked delicious. I’m partial to egg rolls, dumplings and orange peel beef. But I’d be happy to have anything you showed us! Loved the lavender manicure Joann was sporting too!

Great video. I thought that the food looked pretty ordinary in its presentation. I am not sure that I will be rushing to that venue when we get on board next month.

We’ll be on NCL Sun next year. Looks like it lacks this type of restaurant. Everything looks great, including Joanna. Excellent critiques, and excellent video as always.

it was at Shanghai on Breakaway, probably around 4 years ago, where we had really awful soup. Had no body to it, was like dishwater. The Asian family of 4 next to us basically got up and left all their soups. Maybe NCL has gotten better at it, but they had some problems making a good Asian soup. Maybe a good broth needs hours to simmer, whereas they're trying to make it in an hour or less(?).
